Charming cottage in a charming town. The cottage was extremely well equipped including eggs, milk, juice, bread and jam. Everything was very clean and the simplified check-in process was very easy. The location was fantastic as it's walking distance to downtown Saluda and a very easy pretty, drive to adjacent towns. Asheville and Hendersonville are easy to get to for day trips. We also found very nice hiking trails in the vicinity. The hosts offered helpful recommendations for dining and provided extensive information on the surrounding area. We hope to return in several months to see the extensive gardens surrounding the cottage. Great stay!

First of all, thank you Dan & Marti for making our stay a wonderful experience. We greatly appreciated your understanding and accommodation of our sensitivities to cleaning chemicals and scented products. It was also quite a treat to have access to your garden. We made some great stir fry with your vegies and herbs. Everything was nicely labeled and organized, with plenty of hooks for hats and jackets. This is a great location and a quick 10 minute or so walk to downtown. Thanks again!

Buttercup Cottage is lovely, cozy, well appointed and convenient to town. It is nestled in the forest, quiet and safe. Great hosts nearby who supply breakfast essentials and access to their garden. Wonderful getaway in my favorite getaway town!

We loved our stay. The location was amazing, the cottage was adorable & the vegetable garden was huge. They even let us pick whatever we wanted out of the garden!

Great location to explore Saluda and surrounding areas. Trailhead to neighborhood park with trail along creek is very close. Owners offer produce in summer and advice on what to do during your stay.

We had a lovely stay. There were several welcoming homey touches that we really appreciated - fresh bread and milk and eggs. Saluda is a lovely town and we lived walking around and doing the Gorge Zipline. We recommend this house!

Wonderful hosts and a lovely cottage. Great location near Saluda and Hendersonville. Perfect for day trips to go hiking or shopping or just sit outside on the deck and listen to the birds. The garden was amazing and we loved going out to pick apples, cucumbers and tomatoes. Hope to be back soon! Thank you for a great visit!

My wife and I have stayed in many hosted rentals over the years and have never had the red carpet rolled out for us as wonderfully as Marti did for us. There were so many nice touches and extras that made feel so welcome. We especially liked the ability to walk downtown and we were just a short drive to all the area’s outdoor activities. Great place and great host!

We enjoyed our extended weekend at Buttercup Cottage. The kitchen had all the essentials to cook and the king bed was very comfortable. The eggs, orange juice, milk, and bread left by the host were very nice and made us feel welcome. But the highlight was the homemade apricot jam…. Delicious! My husband especially enjoyed grinding the coffee beans provided to make coffee each morning. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. We hope to come back!

Buttercup Cottage was exactly as described, everything we needed was there! Great attention to detail, kitchen well stocked, beds comfortable and place was very clean. Very quiet & peaceful location, enjoyed listening to the birds singing in the mornings!

What a great stay . Walking distance to all that Saluda has to offer . Saluda has great bicycling of all types / mountain - gravel - road . Which I did every day . My host introduced herself and left butter eggs bread milk OJ and even home-made jam . How about that for 5 star accommodations!

We had a wonderful stay at the butternut Cottage. Even my husband who always wants to stay at RCI properties, talked about going back to the Butternut Cottage again. The cottage was clean and quaint and homie we loved being there. We even made a Thanksgiving dinner there. The kitchen had plenty of space and was well-equipped. The kitchen table with the Big Comfy, bench was worthy of any Norman Rockwell setting. Marti was wonderful to communicate with. Even though she was away, when we had an issue she was quick to help us remedy it. Our dogs had fun too.

Marty was great. Property was awesome. Bountiful garden was shared.

All of the other reviews were on point about Buttercup Cottage. We had a wonderful stay, and so did our dog. Very private and comfortable. Marti and Dan were very gracious with their lovely touches of flowers, homemade jelly, supply of sundries, essential groceries and vegetables from their garden. We would highly recommend this VRBO!

The cottage was well equipped and the owner left some food staples and some homemade preserves. Owner was very nice and accommodating. We even brought our dog. Wonderful deck in the back for eating breakfast. A great place to stay.

We had a lovely time in Saluda and the location of the Buttercup cottage is perfect! We enjoyed some delicious veggies from their garden and all the little touches were very much appreciated! Would definitely recommend!

My son and I absolutely loved this rental! It was perfectly located near Saluda, which is a very cute and quaint town. It was walking distance, which was really nice. The owners are super friendly and were extremely welcoming, providing us with eggs, bread, milk, orange juice, butter, coffee, etc. The house itself was very cozy and comfortable. My son and I spent so much time enjoying the deck and the beautiful scenery. The town of Saluda is also very close to so many things. We took advantage of the zipline and kayak trips offered by a company in Saluda, and we made day trips to Asheville, Chimney Rock, and DuPont. I would love to stay here again!

The cottage provided my husband and I with a quiet, comfortable and relaxing place - just what we needed. Everything we could possibly want was already in the kitchen, and the gift of jam, bread, butter, eggs and OJ was the icing on the cake. The fresh flowers on the table added to the homey atmosphere. Our cat enjoyed sniffing all the wild smells outside and always climbed to the top of the mulch pile to observe the surrounding gardens. We enjoyed walking thru downtown Saluda - and loved the homemade ice cream at the old general store, where they piled the scoops on a cone for only $3! We went back there again a second time! Thank you Marti and Dan for allowing us to stay in your little cottage.
