Great location, right on the beach, cute, comfy, perfect get-a-way.

The house, overall, was pleasant and comfortable. The only setback was the trail to the beach. If you’re a senior I’d recommend another way to the beach due to the slippery rocks.

As always we had a great relaxing time at this house on the beach. Located on the north end of Rockaway Beach it doesn't see the crowds. The home is comfortable for the two of us and no need to use the other bedroom. I applaud the owners for hooking up the TV in the bedroom. It is well stocked with supplies for the stay. Wish I had brought some tools so I could have repaired the aging fence and gate. Hope to stay here next year. Thanks, Jim & Pat

This is the second time my sister and I have stayed here! Not disappointing 😌 VERY short walk to the beach and the view is amazing, from the deck you can watch the ocean, view kite flying, all while sipping coffee or cocktails. It really is everything you need. Thank you so much for sharing your home!!

Great location!

The location is great! Access to beach is great if you don’t have mobility issues. This is an old cabin/cottage and rustic. There is a foundation issue—you go uphill to the kitchen and downhill to the living room. The bathroom needs a deep clean as there was dirt and hair on the white baseboards/mold on shower curtain. The clean towels were rolled in balls on the open shelves above the washer/dryer, extremely messy. I went and bought a frying pan for the house. TV in bedroom was not connected to cable and the fire stick didn’t work. All of this was communicated to host. This is a cutely decorated cabin.

It wasn't the best for the weather especially if you like to fly kites but we made the best of it. Made beach birds (Cornish hens) walked the beach, visited & "unplugged" from it all. Place was quiet & great for storm watching.

Beautiful view!!! Some kitchen dishes were not clean, but a trip through the dish washer solved that situation 😉

Had a great time @ this quaint little house everything you need ! The location makes it the best … a few steps & you are on the sand & there’s a small yard with sand area making it feel like you are right on the water ! This was our 2nd time @ this place , first time was very stormy this time was sunny & both were delightful!

My mom and I enjoyed our vacation so much. The beds were comfortable and the whole house is cozy. The kitchen was well stocked and i was happy there was an outside grill, however, only one side heats up so if you are cooking for more than two people that would be a little frustrating. We enjoyed beautiful weather and would definitely return for another vacation. Thanks so much!

Cottage was as advertised although I thought we could walk directly out on the beach. I guess erosion has caused them to have to place rip rap along the beach. There was access right next to it though via some stone stairs. We had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed the ocean view.

We had an absolute blast at this house on the beach! The yard has a nice grassy area and sand for kids to play in! There is a great viewing chair in the yard to sit and watch the waves come in while the beach access is right on the other side of the fence! Well stocked with pots, pans, bowls, knives, and glassware! Big yard with plenty of chairs and picnic table! Plenty of cleaning supplies! Had sugar and powdered coffee creamer as well as salt, pepper and flour. Plenty of towels! Perfect views of the ocean! Sound of the waves as you fall asleep was a nice touch! And just a short drive to the local grocery store and walking distance to the Lakeside Restaurant.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this cozy oceanfront cottage. Amazing oceanfront view, easy beach access, walking distance to restaurant, coffee, food cart and a few stores just a couple of blocks away. We loved walking on the beach, listening to the waves, having a fire in the fireplace and bonefire on the beach. The house had everything we needed. The table was great for family mead and games. Thank you for a lovely stay!

When we pulled up, we could see ground rats burrowing underneath the house from the outside. Upon entry we realized the floor was so uneven it was hard to walk. Entering the house, it smells of mold. Trying to open the sliding glass door it was stuck shut so bad we had to clean the mud out of the rail and oil it, then with help of two men we finally got it open. The handle on the sliding glass door was falling off. We were going to invite our parents to come but the kitchen floor was so dangerous to walk on because it was uneven and sinking that we decided it was not safe for them as they are elderly. We had to put shims underneath the stove to be able to cook because the stove leaned back so badly that all the water and oil in the pans went to one side. Entering the bathroom, we could see mold that had been painted over and was still flowering under the paint. Walking to the back bedroom the hallway floor was soft as if it were rotten. The light in the hallway and laundry area was hanging from the wall by its wires. There was burned coffee in the bottom of the coffee pot and dirty dishes in the cupboard. The blinds were tattered torn and inoperable in one bedroom and black on the edges with mold in the other. There was dirt in all the window’s sills, cobwebs above your head and a general unpleasant smell. The heater in the Master Bedroom did not work. There was supposed to be wood for the fire but there was barely enough to get it started. The yard was unkept un mowed and full of molehills. We have been renting houses a couple of times every year for many years with our friends and family and have never seen a more misrepresented and inappropriate home rental then this one. Whoever represents this house should be ashamed of themselves for offering this as a vacation rental. We read the reviews before renting this house, and now do not believe any of them. They were fictitious and misleading.

House is in a great location, has all the kitchen items you will need, comfortable beds, and plenty of towels!

You couldn’t ask for a more beautiful location. I never get tired of watching the ocean. It’s a little deceptive because there is no beach access on the property. The house is in desperate need of maintenance. I visited in February and the house was freezing cold. There are two small very old wall heater that are supposed to heat the house. Bedrooms are always freezing. There is no way eight adults could comfortably sleep in this house. It would be miserable. Only two beds had blankets and I had to argue to get two more. The house isn’t suitable for older adults. You will find the bare minimum in amenities here, but the view is wonderful.

We’ve stayed here a couple times before and it is always awesome. Great location on the beach and you can easily walk into town. We’ll be back for sure!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Oceanfront Beach Cottage. Yes, it is an older place, but it has anything and everything to keep you happy! Quiet!, right on the beach! (just walk over the bank and you are on the sand where you can walk for miles). There are awesome views from the living and master bedroom area, it's bright and airy, has lots of seating in the living room, great beds! a kitchen equipped with anything you could possibly ask for, a fireplace with wood, two types of BBQ's, (gas and briquets....who else does that for your?!), plenty of parking, and three blocks from the closest restaurant. I don't do well on Rockaway Beach water....the taste is fine, but my system does not like it. So we always buy drinking water....but we did not need that here. A large filtered carafe was available to use in the refer, and it did the job during our stay. We bought our Golden Retriever along, making sure that she was groomed just prior to our stay. The yard is fenced on the side that is adjacent to the parking area, and the street. You need to keep your dog on a leash if you do not want your dog to go over the bank to the beach. The wi-fi was great, the cable worked well on the large front room TV. An added bonus was the small blue tooth compatible stereo that we linked to our favorite Pandora stations. There were tons of towels, etc, and a top-of-the-line Speed Queen washer and dryer. Yes , it is an older cottage, but I don't know what else you could ask for in a beach side accommodation!

Rockaway Beach is a great location with small towns north and south to explore.We were blessed with sunshine for five days and watched a storm come in at the end of our stay. A bundle of firewood is provided but we brought our own to enjoy a beach fire and keep ourselves warm in the cottage.It's a great respite for a couple and a friend or two if they'd like.
