I visited this charming cabin with a dear friend from college who just finished five months of chemo. She is still immuno-compromised; we were looking for a restful stay near Mendocino where we could mostly cook in house and take side trips as her energy permitted.
This charming cabin midway between Mendocino and Fort Bragg was perfect. Lovely tranquil setting and the ability to walk directly out into the Jackson Forest from the property. Tasteful decor, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a large and luxurious bathroom with a clawfoot tub. All impeccably clean. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and a basket of snacks, a nice touch that we really appreciated. And the hosts immediately answered our one minor question.
The cabin is peacefully secluded but only minutes from both Mendocino & Fort Bragg. We bought organuc vegetables from Corner of the Mouth in Mendo & fresh fish from Princess Seafood in Fort Bragg & cooked in the cabin.

Property was just as described and exactly what we were hoping. Hosts were great and everything worked and was well stocked. Internet and wifi was great, we did not have cell service but we understood that going in. Location is incredibly secluded but close to many hikes, water activites and stores.Would definitely stay again!

We enjoyed our stay. They provided all we needed! The only downside for us was that the bedroom was upstairs and there is no upstairs bathroom. Not a problem for the young, but harder for us older folks.

We had a lovely stay in this cute cabin. We stayed during a pretty stormy period, which was as fine with us. It is right between Mendocino and fort Bragg so it was easy to explore both. Hiking trails are literally right outside the door.

We completely enjoyed our stay at this Caspar cottage - set back from Highway 1 on wooded acreage, this was a quiet place to escape and rejuvenate. The cottage is well-maintained, very clean and included many thoughtful touches: toiletries, coffee pods, snacks, games and books - felt welcoming & cozy. Though there is a free-standing tub with hand-shower, the outdoor showers are beautiful, surrounded by greenery, redwoods overhead - we were especially fortunate to stay during a rainstorm - heaven!

Perfect Getaway
We rented this property for our 1 year wedding anniversary hoping for a small cottage and the pictures did not do it justice! It didn't feel small it felt perfect and was above and beyond. The bathtub was amazing and complimented the outside shower. We defintely recommend this amazing place for any type of vacation.

Lovely, quiet property perfectly situated between the towns of Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Lots of access to beaches and hikes. Outdoor showers are really nice. Note that property does have WI-FI even though the listing says it does now. Owner agrees he needs to update this on VRBO. We plan to return when we can.

Peaceful Retreat
My wife and I spent four nights at Jake and Lindy’s place in the woods. If you seek a peaceful retreat, away from crowds and traffic, but close to the beautiful Mendocino coast and world class hiking trails, look no further.
We spent days hiking the trails in nearby state parks and exploring local beaches.
Their cabin in the woods is very comfortable and well equipped.
Jake and Lindy are close by but never intrusive.
Molly the very friendly dog made daily visits for an ear scratching.
If you wish to explore Mendocino but be away from crowds this is the place for you.

Beautiful piece of Paradise on the coast
I cannot say enough great things about this place. The cabin was beautiful and the property, with all the greenery, plants and flowers was welcoming. It was so peaceful and serene and secluded. Inside the cabin it was clean and had everything we needed. The bed and linens were so comfortable! When I saw this place had an outside shower, I was skeptical but no way! We loved it! Very private and very nice!
We brought our mountain bikes and literally caught the trail right outside the property. No driving to the trailhead! Best trail system we've found in this area. The property is right between Fort Bragg and Mendocino so the location is great.
The host, Jake, was gracias and met us upon arrival and the sweet dog, Molly, stopped by several times to say Hello.
As long as this place is available, we will never go anywhere else!

What a peaceful, restful stay this was. We hated to leave. The cabin is comfortable and cozy, with every thoughtful touch taken care of. We were able to let it all go for a few days, a much needed respite from the weary of 2020. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking to rest and breathe.

Magical getaway
I couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate my birthday. Jake and Melinda built this beautiful cottage. If you are looking for complete calm and relaxation this is the place. All of the rooms are cozy and beautifully decorated. We were amazed with how quiet it was. Nestled in the trees you can enjoy dinner on the patio or take a hot shower. Their dog Molly is a sweetheart. If you're lucky she will greet you upon arrival. I was bummed to leave but can't wait to visit again.
