This unit is NOT a normal Legacy Villas unit. We stay at Legacy three times a year. Besides the smoke smell, the owners have gutted all the original furniture and replaced it with the cheapest possible second hand furniture. The chair in the room is what you find on the street with a “free” sign on it. The fireplace has been emptied of logs and rocks and there is a single giant dead cricket in it. Couple paper plates, cups and some plastic forks. This is a connecting unit and the (residents?) of the main unit smoke. Had to leave early because of the smoke.

Good simple getaway for a weekend.

We had rented a one room studio from August 6th to August 8th and were excited for our stay, however, when we arrived we were disappointed to find that our room smelled strongly of cigarettes. At first, we thought it may have been our neighbors, however, we noticed that our sheets smelled strongly which was our main concern as it was uncomfortable for us to sleep in. I reached out to report a problem the evening of our first day via behome24/7 but failed to receive a response and eventually found an email address I could use to contact someone, but by the time I received a response it was the evening of our second day and too late to get anyone sent out to replace our sheets and freshen the room. I reviewed our lease agreement to confirm and our room was a non smoking room, which made it frustrating that we had to experience this. Aside from that, we loved the pool and had a good time going out to eat at the surrounding restaurants. -Josh

Everyone was so welcoming amidst the crisis of covid-19 the restrictions were within reason and the security at the pool was nice and fair and accommodating. We will definitely be back... maybe not this year. But In 2021 for sure, or maybe in winter during a rain storm to see the beauty of the mountains behind the resort.

So although we received confirmation, we did not receive arrival procedures so assumed there would be an office to check in with. Not so, and security is tight and rude. After a day of travelling no one wants to be told unless they can get in touch with their rental company, they will have to leave. We were scrambling to contact California Vacation Villas, which, after leaving a couple of panicked messages, they were very helpful getting us in to our apartment. This is such a beautiful spot and felt very secure.

When we arrived to check in, we had not yet received the email for protocol. Security is tight, while he did have our names, he was not welcoming in the least, he was nasty. We actually thought we had been dooped, a shock to us after a days travel. After a few phone calls we got through to the rental company, they were very helpful and things went smoothly from there.

We had lunch and dinner out so didn't need a regular kitchen. The small frig held what we needed for breakfast/snacks. Loved the pool and workout facilities. a beautiful spot to come to in the spring!

The furniture was meager - plastic drawers in the bathroom, wire shelves in the main room. We complained that the fireplace was not working, it has been dismantled, and was told that it was not functioning on purpose. We like the fireplace and California Vacation Villas were very helpful in trying to find us another place. We appreciated there help, we just wish that we were told before we went that the fireplace was not working.

Our unit was also clean and well stocked with the items that we needed. The guards at the security gate/booth were very polite and helpful. We loved the balcony off our unit and the quiet in that particular area of the villas. The only concern was my wife’s, as the bed was not comfortable for her. I on the other hand, thought the bed was fine. It is a temperpedic type of bed, which again causes no problems for me. However, my wife has neck and shoulder issues which require an extremely top notch mattress and pad. So take the comments regarding the bed with a block of salt. Other than that, we had a wonderful time at the villas and this was our second year in a row being there for two weeks and we will be back. Thank you to Meredith and Joy at California Vacation Rentals because they were extremely helpful and quick, very quick, to respond to any questions that I had; Meredith and Joy are top notch! Reviewer Comments: The property management company switched our room several days before our arrival because the A/C wasn't working. It was the same room layout and not far from our original request. The pics online do a nice job of representing the room and amenities, and although we didn't have a full kitchen, the cabinets were well-stocked with basic supplies (plastic-ware, corkscrew, coffee filters, plates, napkins, etc...). Strong wi-fi connection in the room and nice mountain view from the large balcony. The pool areas were very clean and the secure grounds well-kept. I don't feel that with the $85 cleaning fee we should be responsible for taking out our garbage but overall, a very pleasant stay.
