This was awesome. The location is super private and peaceful, but with an amazing view. All things I look for in a mountain cabin. Fully stocked kitchen, which helps when you cook most of your meals! The gas fireplace was awesome. Every part of the cabin and all the furniture was well built/high quality. The 45 foot swing on the property was a nice treat! I could go on and on, but you just need to book it and see for yourself. Leave us some room to come back, though. Great place!

This property far exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were so comfortable and the hosts were simply lovely. We are already talking about a return trip!

We had an amazing time. The cabin was cozy and the views were spectacular. We especially enjoyed watching the birds through the picture window. Will definitely be returning.

My goodness what a nice location this is! The folks managing the property were kind and responsive. The location is secluded enough that you feel separated from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the world, while still being just a 15 minute drive from downtown Boone. I do suggest arriving in an AWD/4WD vehicle if it's been snowing, but that's my blanket advice for anyone visiting the mountains during winter. The cabin is beautiful, second only to the views. Plenty of spots to just sit and relax–in front of the fireplace, on the adjustable gazebo porch swing, or in front of an enormous window overlooking the valley. The first day was crisp and clear. The second day it was very foggy, which created a very cool atmosphere around the cabin. It gave us a chance to try out the downstairs shuffleboard table, watch a few movies on the living room TV, and curl up in front of the large fireplace in the living room. I recently took a remote job with an employer in Boone that'll require me to visit on-site several times a year. Part of my motivation booking here was to see if my wife and I could find a place we could love coming back to over and over. I think we've found it!

We rented this cabin for a post Christmas/New Years stay as a group of 5 friends and it was hands down the best experience we have ever had with a rental property. The cabin was better than we expected. The stunning views from the giant living room window and porch, the comfort and provided necessities, the close location to downtown Boone and Blowing Rock while still feeling like you were completely secluded. Everything about the property and our stay was everything we wanted and more. We cannot recommend this cabin enough! Book your dream cabin stay NOW!!

We have stayed at a lot of vacation homes over the years, and this is surely one of the best of them! Pictures don’t really do the home justice; the view is stunning. The hosts were wonderful and did a great job of equipping the rental. We love to cook and were thrilled to find that the kitchen had all of the tools you’d need to make a meal. The location was also fantastic. You could be on the Blue Ridge Parkway within minutes, and in Boone or Blowing Rock in 10-15 minutes. We had such a fantastic stay and would love to return if we’re in the area again!

Although we only had a brief stay of 2 days, the cabin experience was excellent and exactly as we expected. Joanie was always available and prompt with responses when needed, also flexible with a few last minute requests we had. The cabin, furniture, appliances and decoration are of great quality and taste, we truly enjoyed it! Flavio & family.

It was a breathtaking, peaceful, decompressing, and healing visit for all four adults— first timers to mountains. Would be grateful to cone back and experience more time in exact same location. Owners are very caring, generous people and fun to converse with! LOVED IT!

My husband kept asking me if I wanted to stop at the overlooks on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I told him “no” because we had the same view from the cabin. Seriously, you can see for miles. This is a beautifully well-maintained cabin with all the amenities.

The cabin was great! The views were amazing! The only bad part was that we had to leave!

The property and cabin were fantastic! The views were even better than the photos. We found it hard to leave the cabin to check out the nearby mountain towns. One of the few places we have stayed that we did not want to leave. We will stay longer the next time!

This is an outstanding property with amazing views of the mountains. It is a quick 10 minute drive into Boone and a 20 minute drive to Blowing Rock. Joanie is a wonderful host and very accommodating.

What a wonderful week we had at the Kilkelly’s private cabin! Everything about our time there was special! The cabin is so comfortable and well appointed. The Kilkellys have provided all anyone needs for a wonderful mountain retreat, plus many, many extras! The view is awesome!! Just the R&R my husband and I needed! We have already reserved our week+ for next year! Thanks to our wonderful hosts!

The cabin is everything we had hoped for, inside and out. The cabin is comfortable, clean, and the kitchen is very well-equipped. We loved using the fire pit and swing. Our hosts were responsive and generous. But the best part of the cabin is it’s setting with unparalleled views of the mountains. A wonderful stay we hope to repeat.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the cleanest cabin we’ve ever stayed (inside and out)! The mountain views from all windows were stunning. The back deck with swing were fabulous. There was plenty of comfortable outdoor seating on the porch, deck, by the fire pit - both in shade and in sun. Joanie was the perfect hostess. The kitchen was stocked, and we appreciated the toiletries and amenities. The beds were very comfortable, and pillows, sheets, and towels were very clean. We enjoyed the serene environment with easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, and Boone. We can’t wait to come back!

Words cannot describe this cabin and the scenery. Everywhere you look you can see God’s hand at work! The kitchen is very well stocked with all that’s needed for meal prep and serving. I can't say enough about Joanie and Gary as hosts as we have been visiting here at least once a year since 2016. The experience is like none other and we've had so many family memories at the cabin. Their property is like a private resort and they always go out of their way to make sure our stay is top notch.

We spent the first weekend of spring break at the cabin and had a wonderful device-free time. The cabin and surrounding area offered us and our three kids (9,7,4) plenty to do. From the rope swing on the property, to easy hikes right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, to the candy barrels at Mast General Store, we loved every minute of it. Joanie and Gary could not have been more hospitable, they worked with us on date changes and provided farm fresh eggs at check-in. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for and the view from the porch and living room is unbelievable!

TBH all other reviewers are right. This is a fantastic stay. Lots of little things that show the cabin is thoughtfully taken care of: coffee grinder in pantry, many spices available in the kitchen, high-quality bath tissue, ability to move the swing on the deck to a different position, extra shuffleboard sand if needed, etc. Clearly a focus on the smaller details that add up. And check-on and check-out was seamless.
