Good location and friendly staff

The rooms are run down. Health & safety are not great. Room 19 is cold because it has a tiny radiator by the door. Some appliances not working or broken ( bedside lamp)

De pub is mooi ingericht. Die avond was er live muziek uit de jaren 60 en 70, op onze kamer hadden we er geen last van. We zijn naar beneden gegaan en hebben van het laatste uur genoten. Het was zelfs bijtijds (22:30) afgelopen. Er waren in het begin wat problemen (zie beneden) maar gelukkig was er een oplettende medewerkster die het in de gaten kreeg en zorgde dat alles snel en goed werd opgelost. Wij vonden het (uiteindelijk) zo goed dat we weer een overnachting daar geboekt hebben bij ons volgende bezoek aan de VK.

Onze binnenkomst was niet ideaal. Wij waren heel moe na een hele dag reizen en hadden helaas een melding gemist betreffend de locatie van de te gebruiken parkeerplaats. Wij hadden de pech dat we een onervaren medewerker troffen die ons niet de juiste informatie gaf over waar de parkeerplaats was, waardoor we 20 minuten hebben rond gereden in het donker. Nadat we uiteindelijk de postcode hadden gekregen, konden we het wel vinden. Eindelijk konden we naar de kamer - en prompt werden we de verkeerde trap opgestuurd! We konden wel janken van narigheid en wisten echt niet meer waar we het moesten zoeken. In de pub zelf werd nergens aangegeven waar we kamer 19 konden vinden. De trap die wij opgestuurd waren ging maar tot 15 (bleken privé vertrekken te zijn!). Gelukkig was er één persoon die in de gaten had hoe wij er aan toe waren.

Great location for old town with car park behind, free for hotel guests. Very nice renovated shower rooms.

Hotel was closed up when we got back around 11.20, it was a bit of a walk to get around to rear entrance in rain to use keys on 24 hour entry.

Unfortunately breakfast (7.30 onwards) was too late for me.

Lovely clean room. Really friendly staff and great breakfast. Couldn't fault it. Despite being warned that there might be noise from the live music we didn't hear a thing. Bed was really comfy and lovely big shower. Perfect overnight stay .

the rooms are clean and comfortable at a very good price. the bar is warm comfortable and friendly with very helpful staff. breakfast is included in the room price and there is plenty of free parking. a great place to stay in the centre of Swindon old town.
