Beautiful large property that 10 adults happily fitted into with space to spare. Lovely well kept gardens (with a fresh lemon for the gin and tonic!) and great swimming pool enjoyed by all . Lovely welcome from Maria and Ray. Plenty of good restaurants in Carvoeiro...it is a healthy walk back up steep hills but plenty of taxis in the centre rank. (We never used them!) A lovely week for a group ranging in age from 23 to 65!

Absolutely beautiful villa with so much space both inside and out. Everything we could possibly need was in the villa and just a short walk away was the town with many bars, restaurants and shops. Perfect spot

This property has all the facilities that a large family gathering would need to make any stay wonderful and in our case a holiday of the decade. The hosts, Marie and Ray were very accomodating and no request for help and/or advice was ignored. The highlight for the children was the large swimming pool with outdoor shower. For the adults, it was the very generous welcoming pack and the fully fitted kitchen with two fridges, one full cooker with oven, one electric hob and a large microwave. The bedrooms with ensuites was a nice touch as was the air conditioning units throughout the house. Overall, the house was as advertised and more as we explored it. Thank you for the use and I'm sure the memories made during the holiday will stay with the whole group for years to come.

We spent a week in this beautiful Villa with 3 families (6 adults and 6 children). Each family had their own area/wing for sleeping which was great. The outdoor space was amazing. The large pool was used daily. The neighbourhood felt very safe and it was about 15 min walk to the beach. Coming back was uphill, which was tough for the younger kids in the heat, but they managed and we enjoyed the views. We rented cars so we could also explore other beaches and towns. Carvoeiro is a beautiful, family friendly town and highly recommend staying here.

What a truly fantastic property, with amazing hosts. Great location for a family trip. 6weeks old to 70years old and everybody had a great time.

Family group of 16 all rated the villa and location highly. We did not want for anything and thoroughly recommend. The pool was perfect and used constantly. Paying a little extra to have it heated was well worth while. It is an uphill hike from the village but good exercise and 3 year old managed it regularly. Excellent golf courses played and enjoyed nearby. All enjoyed the paddle tennis at local club. Carveiiro beach best early in morning when quieter. Fun village at night for all ages. We will hopefully be back soon.

What a wonderful villa, host, location and pool! Our group of 13 absolutely loved staying here and can’t wait to go back. The villa has everything you need and Marie and Ray are the most helpful and gracious hosts. Villa is up a couple of short hills about 15/20 minutes stroll from town. Perfectly doable and enjoyable for all of us except mum and dad who are both in 70s (heat was a big factor). However, no problem. We used Adrian’s taxis - number given by Marie and Ray - and mum and dad were dropped off and picked up. Easy! Also use same company for transfer to Carvoiero. Town has so many restaurants! We loved Casa Algarvia for Piri Piri chicken and stone steaks.

A large family of 15 age ranging from 3 to 73 Villa Borboletta exceeded all expectations, the large heated pool was a huge hit, and all rooms were large and very comfortable accommodating all of us with ease. The owners of the villa could not have been more helpful and the welcome hamper was exceptional.

Fantastic villa, was equipped with all we could ever need & more besides. Villa was spotless. And hosts were marvelous, answered all our questions before we arrived & helped to make our holiday unforgettable.

Perfect for a big family holiday

The villa was perfect and the owners were exceptional.

We had a fabulous time at Villa Borboleta. Marie and Ray could not have been more helpful before and during our stay. The welcome pack was a very much appreciated bonus too. The villa is huge, so much space and each bedroom being en suite was fantastic, so much privacy but fantastic space to be together as 12 adults and one infant. Never been to a villa with so much equipment, attention to detail was second to none. The outside space is just the same, very well maintained and the pool is beautiful. Carvoeiro town was beautiful, up hill on the way back but we managed it although taxis very straightforward. The square which is 5 mins walk away has a couple of nice restaurants and a cocktail bar all of which are great. Would love to go back.

A large spacious villa, with a lovely pool and plenty of outside space. Marie and Aurelio could not have been more helpful and gracious from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. A truly delightful couple. The welcome pack of wine, beers, fresh rolls etc was an unexpected but much appreciated bonus. The villa was perfectly located to allow us to walk to local shops, beaches and Carvoeiro. Having inflatables already available for the younger members of our party was great, as well as board games etc. Our mixed age ranged party had a truly wonderful time.

We had a great week at this lovely villa. Lots of space and really well equipped with everything we needed. The heated pool and air conditioning were ideal. Also, made good use of the BBQ and terrace, and there were good restaurants nearby as well as down in the town. Marie and Ray were great to deal with. We hope to return.

Loved the villa (and the hosts). Our kids were never out of the pool - optional heating was good value for money. A few good restaurants/bars close at hand, and many many more a short walk away in Carvoeiro. As the walk back was uphill, it's as well the wine was plentiful! And some lovely restaurants a short drive away in picturesque Ferragudo.

The villa was gorgeous, even more than we were hoping for. What made this villa better than any others, was the welcome we received from Marie & Ray. We were two hours early and they couldn’t have been more accommodating and were kind and helpful throughout. Thank you to them for being the best hosts ever

A fantastic place for a large family gathering! It was worth the angst, hassle and frustration of the last 12 months. There were 16 of us, ranging in age from 3 to 75, all of whom had a great time. (The beer fridge was a big hit!). The flexibility and understanding shown by Marie and Ray over the changing circumstances was hugely appreciated.

We were given the warmest welcome by Ray and Marie, which set the tone for an amazing post-lockdown holiday. They really went the extra mile, even down to building ramps throughout the villa to ease access for one of our party who is a wheelchair user (we’ve never experienced so much support!). The villa is walking distance from fab restaurants, the beach and shops, and well equipped with everything we needed and more. Fabulous pool, and lots of space too for our family/friends group ranging from age 1-70, ticked everyone’s boxes!! We’ll definitely be recommending to our friends and would love to come back!

Just returned from an amazing weeks holiday. We were welcomed on our first day with open arms which set the tone for the whole holiday. The villa was incredible and had everything you could ever need. The local area was all was also fantastic and had some amazing restaurants and great family vibe in the town. Thanks again Marie and Ray for all your hospitality, we will definitely be back.

We’ve just rented this villa for a week (not long enough). It’s a huge place, amazingly well stocked with a great pool and bbq area. It’s a short walk into the town. Ray and Marie are great hosts. We couldn’t recommend the villa highly enough.

We had an amazing week at Villa Borboleta! The rooms were all amazing and fairly equal in size and the pool area was great for our large group! The villa was so well stocked with plenty of glasses, plates, cutlery etc! The table tennis table was a great addition! Marie and Ray were really helpful with everything we needed and we will definitely consider staying again!
