This home was beautiful and had everything we needed to spend a relaxing, long weekend in Chelan. The property had lots of amenities to meet everyone’s needs - beautiful swimming pools and playgrounds and safe sidewalks for roaming with our dog! The kitchen was so well stocked it made creating meals a breeze! Loved our stay!

We were so happy with our stay at "Independence." The property is new and the amenities are amazing. Two community pools, private beach, pet areas, hot tubs, kids playgrounds, BBQ areas, running trails, etc. We so loved our stay here that we can't wait to sit down and plan the next trip

Independence was like new, welcoming, and had every amenity. The hot tub worked well and was paired perfect with a glass of wine. The main strip of Lake Chelan was only a 2 min drive away. The on site pool was huge and not over crowded. Whether we stayed indoors or outdoors there was plenty to do.

Independence is a great home for a family vacation. We had nine of us and fit just fine. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is stocked! There are a couple of drawbacks that are temporary. There is a lot of construction and landscaping going on right next door and in front of home. Noisy from 7-7 on weekdays. Very dusty. And, workers within 10 ft of you when sitting on the porch. Not relaxing. The outdoor furniture needs updating. New bbq is great. Thanks for a good week.

Unfortunately there was critical information missing on the VRBO listing that we later found out (not until after arrival) is included on The Lookout's website. The home is in the middle of a very active, very loud construction site. When we arrived Friday evening there were construction workers all over the place, loud machinery being operated, etc. We had to close all of the blinds as soon as we walked in because of how uncomfortable we felt having people working just a few feet outside the front windows. It was a huge turn off and nearly ruined our trip. That being said - the property manager was extremely responsive, helpful, and couldn't have been more apologetic about the mixup. The home itself is beautiful, and once construction is complete it will be an amazing rental. It was very clean, comfortable, and had everything one would need. The king-sized bed was very comfortable and the layout of the home would be great for any sized group. Note that the construction IS present on Saturdays as well and we could hear the lovely sounds of heavy machinery as we drank our morning coffee. We would definitely return once the construction is complete!

We enjoyed our stay at Independence during a school break when we just needed a change of scenery during COVID. We loved the location -- close to restaurants, stores, etc and a beautiful view! We were able to enjoy sledding in the snow on a small hill in the community and also at the local golf course sledding hill. The hot tub was also a hit with our kids.The house had everything we needed for our stay. The only downside was the construction next door, which was mentioned in a previous review. No fault of the rental property, but worth considering if you are not early risers. Construction noises started at 7AM. Also, there is an issue with evenly heating the home. Upstairs bedrooms were 10+ degrees warmer than the downstairs and it was challenging to balance out the temperature so that everyone was comfortable. Would recommend that the property include sleds for those visiting during the winter months. We bought some cheap ones, but it would be have been great just to pull some out of the storage closet.Would recommend this home for a getaway and we hope to check out other properties in The Lookout community this summer! Stop by Stormy Mountain Brewing for great food and brews while you are in town. We all loved it!

The two issues we had (internet not working and BBQ not working) were quickly resolved by the property management. I definitely would come back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: At first glance in person the house doesn’t look that big but once inside it feels spacious and accommodating. It doesn’t have a garage though. It’s brand new so it’s very clean. The bedding is sooo comfortable and CLEAN! The owner did a great job! The style of decor is very up to date and tasteful. Every room has a TV with the latest and the greatest shows (I caught up on some shows!). Even kids’ room has one with kids’ shows ready to go. The kitchen was accommodating to our needs (even had a slow cooker! Keurig but no regular coffee maker) except one tiny thing. We were provided only 4 dishwasher pods (!) and when I called the front office they said we have to buy our own. So, we had to run to the store late in the evening so the dirty dishes don’t sit there all night. Maybe add that to “what to bring” in the description for the house or the owner could just provide extras. After praying over 5K for one week of rent I shouldn’t be bringing my own dishwasher soap. LOL! Otherwise the house was super! There is a brand new pool right next to the house but it was still closed while we were there. But it’s nice that the house isn’t that far from it. Shuttle no longer picks you up from the house so it’s a bit of a hike from this house to drag all the stuff with you to the “shuttle stop” if you want to go to the lake. See map.
