Perfect stay, we absolutely loved everything:)

Me encantó el lugar. En un inicio parece estar lejos, pero luego te das cuenta que su ubicación es perfecta, porque está cerca del centro pero distante del caos de la gente. Las habitaciones son hermosas, además al ser solamente 4 es bastante íntimo y acogedor (también me parece maravilloso que tengan frigobar). La piscina es espectacular y refrescante, es cómodo permanecer ahí con las toallas que te dan. Me gustó mucho el sector de la cocina y las mesas que están ahí para comer, como si estuvieras en un restaurante. Amé que tuvieran servicio de lavandería incluido, principalmente para secar aquellas cosas que con el clima húmedo se mantienen hermosas. Realmente recomiendo este alojamiento, te desconectas bastante. Los dueños viven atrás, y son muy amables.

It was a pleasure to stay at this property. It was clean, modern and very nice. The property is located very close to the main street and the beach, however you do not hear anything! Just the sounds of nature. The property also offers a free-of-charge laundry service - another great feature!

Very beautiful property that allows you to relax. Howler monkeys nearby. Great kitchen and laundry service. Easy walk to beach and town. Great bakery nearby. Lovely pool. Quick response by owners of any requests. Will definitely return!

Clean comfortable, beautifully designed room and bathroom containing everything you could possibly need and more. Lovely balcony overlooking the swimming pool and jungle. Restaurants and beaches a short walk away. The owners and staff were customer centred, friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our stay and would have stayed longer but the hotel was, unsurprisingly, fully booked. Excellent.

Comfortable rooms, great location — close to lots of stores and restaurants but still quite enough. free laundry service was a big plus! lovely (small) pool.
A cute and clean place but the kitchen/ common area could be a bit better (no tea, dirty sink..) — it would be great if there was a (simple) breakfast offered. This would bring the place more alive, more cosy and the issue of a better kitchen could be solved that way too.

Really kind and helpful people. They even gifted us a water boiler which we needed for the baby on our onward journey. The place is very clean and quietly located.

Very cosy detailed hotel. Small but clean pool. Little kitchen for usage. Owners were a bit dry at start but started to talk to us more & more. Parking included. Good contact via whatsapp before arriving. Top! Awesome place.

The property is set off the main road so it’s quiet which we liked. The bamboo rooms are spotlessly clean with air conditioning and a fan, powerful shower. We got fresh pool towels everyday and fresh towels and bedding throughout our 5 night stay. The owners are lovely and it was great to make use of the kitchen which is really well equipped.

This is lovely clean, fresh & modern accommodation run by a very friendly and helpful host. The location is set back from the main road so is quiet but is only a 5 minute walk from the town and town beach. The rooms were cleaned every day. Pool/beach towels are supplied. The pool was very welcoming. The rooms have the best showers in Costa Rica, powerful and hot water (we stayed at multiple places with cold water showers so this was bliss!)
We saw humming birds darting around the garden in the morning and a sloth in a tree just outside :-)
Other beaches are just a 15 minute walk away. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the town. Especially pleased with the veggie options available. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

A few words to describe Black Bamboo: relaxed, harmonious and tucked away from the hustle & bustle... like a peaceful retreat, yet close to everything, with Nadia and Tenet at the ready to help with anything you may need. I loved my room and the size of the hotel which gives it a boutique vibe. I'll definitely be back.

Very beautiful little hotel with a small pool area. Rooms are very clean and super comfortable to stay in. Staff is really nice and incredibly helpful. The owners gave us lots of advice on things to do in Puerto Viejo and the area around it.
