The Swell Life House is an amazing property! The house has everything you need to have a great vacation! The short stroll in to town was wonderful. The views of the sunrise and sunsets are fantastic! It was perfect for our large family. We will return.

Perfectly appointed property. As a group of college friends we were looking for a space at the beach with a really open concept where we could be cooking and talking and playing games - this was perfect. The kitchen was huge and very well stocked. It had a nice big table where we had meals, played games, etc. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms - all brand new. Comfortable beds too! It was so convenient to the beach where we took a nice walk every day. If it had been warmer we would have taken more advantage of the deck!!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay only because of: time with family, the incredible views and the convenience of having the wonderful boardwalk with the rinse off- that was all spectacular. However, I would really suggest blocking time off from renting for this house so that all of the issues that are being avoided can be properly addressed: The overwhelming smell (of what I can only describe as putrid/stale urine) coming from the main master closet on level 1, the mold/mildew accumulation on the bathroom ceilings on level 3, the water leak coming out of the kitchen oven hood, and the loud continual thud coming from the elevator. The absolutely disgusting smell in the master closet on the main level was too much to bear. We could hardly sleep at night because of it but were afraid to leave the door shut for too long or all of our things would be covered (they are). There is a separate locked closet inside of the closet- not sure if that’s where the smell is coming from, but it definitely needs to be tracked down and addressed ASAP. The mold/mildew and leaks in the ceilings of the bathrooms upstairs is pretty glaring. Not only does it look bad, but having dirty water drip-drop on your head while using the toilet is pretty gross. And whatever made water randomly gush out of the kitchen oven hood (a place no water should be and was probably why it didn’t work properly- smoke alarms went off every time we used it and the light function didn’t work) needs to be sourced and addressed immediately. No idea what’s wrong with the elevator but about every 30 mins or so it would make a huge loud thud/mechanical sound. Kept waking the light sleepers in the house all night. The technician that was sent out to”fix our issues” looked at them, said he would file a report and left claiming he fixed the bathroom lock- he didn’t. Other things I always note in reviews were comfort items and beds. We searched every room and closet on arrival and couldn’t find but ONE extra blanket in the whole house. We had family from ages 6-69 in the house and when asked about their beds no one had a good bed to report. Highly suggest this home invest in upgraded mattresses because a good nights sleep and make or break a stay and the mattresses in this home, unfortunately, are terrible (I slept on the floor because it was better than our bed). Sadly, first house in 13+ years I wouldn’t stay in again or recommend unless all issues are properly addressed.

Best stocked kitchen I have experience. Enough plates and silverware for all. Great selection of pots,pans utensils . Only way to make better is deck off the living floor.

Wonderful property-very clean and well furnished

This home is truly in a wonderful spot. First of all there is nothing better than waking up to the gorgeous water view. No matter what room guests are sleeping in they will all wake up to the same beauty. This home is also a short walk to town. My nephews enjoyed heading into town for a quick snack, some ice cream or to browse the shops. We booked some sightseeing in the Charleston area as well. It was a very easy drive and only about 20 minutes or so. When staying at this home guests are able to experience it all, the beach, the quaint beach town and the fabulous city of Charleston. The swell life will allow you to do it all and see it all if you choose. We all had a wonderful time at this perfectly located home!

We had some unforeseen circumstances and only part of our group was able to make the trip so it was a bit bittersweet when the house was even better than we had anticipated. Those of us who were able to make it loved the house! The amenities were wonderful and it was so nice to be able to wake up to the ocean and not have to worry about parking or hauling all of our gear. The credit from Vay-K Gear was well worth it as well. Not having to pack all our beach chairs and umbrellas into the car was so nice. The two small downsides were that the internet was a bit slow and as my husband and I both had to do some work while we were there, we ended up having to hotspot our phones and use LTE. The other is that the main floor (where the living room and kitchen are) doesn’t have blinds and since the beach requires all lights to be off in the evening for the hatching turtles to be able to make it to the ocean, there isn’t really a place to gather after 10pm. Otherwise, we loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Excellent house, location, and all interior items are FIRST CLASS.

The house is spectacular. Enough room for all but also with enough tv’s for individual preferences. Everything is as good as it looks in the pictures. No surprises. Would definitely come back.

This property was sparkling clean and the management company was very responsive to a minor problem. The house floor plan was perfect for our 3 family beach vacation, and the high quality of the furnishings added to our enjoyment. Very convenient to the local town which is within walking distance.

We enjoyed Thanksgiving break with family far and near! Wonderful location and floor plan!

We all had such a good time at this house and plan on renting it again. The views from every room were beautiful and the amount of beach toys and chairs that were already at the house was so helpful! We stayed in and cooked one night and had everything we needed in the fully stocked kitchen. I’ve been renting at Folly for years and this is my favorite house so far. We did have some issues with the elevator not working all the time, but other than that - everything was amazing. Thank you!

Our group of 11 all agree that we were in the best house and location on Folly Beach and hope to repeat our trip either next year or the next. It’s not easy to find a place where 3 families can stay and all agree that it is exactly what we wanted, but this house delivered. If you’re not happy here, I doubt you’ll be happy anywhere.

What you see is what you get, which is a large nice property with private access to the beach. It has to be one of the nicest properties in the area. No unpleasant surprises.

This house is so spectacular! We had SUCH a great time!

Beautiful house, well furnished with direct access to the beach. It was an easy drive into Charleston for restaurants and tours.

If you can't tell by the pictures, this place is absolutely amazing. We had 14 guys that could sleep here. There were a couple hidden trundle beds we later found, so everyone could sleep easily. Do not hesitate to rent this place. It has one of the only piers going out directly onto the beach, is 2 blocks from downtown Folly which was awesome, and is in pristine condition. Have fun!

We had enough towels, for everyone, 10 adults. The house was clean. The outdoor grill had brushes so we could clean it to use. Very convenient to the water and town and even a short distance to Charleston. Beach was very clean. Convenient to grocery stores and supplies.
