The location was nice with access to a pool - which was well maintained and heated. The pool is large - just shallow (3-5ft) for anyone that enjoys jumping in a deeper end. But refreshing. The lake is just a few hundred feet away and has a nice beach. The golf cart is a must to navigate the hill to the beach if you plan to carry anything there. The house could use.a bit of "spring cleaning" in a few spots - but mostly clean. The quirky things to us were having to empty a couple of de-humidifiers every few hours. One had a leak and had to be unplugged during our stay. Another were some interesting smells - a bit musty - probably due to the dampness, the septic would also leach out a bit of nastiness every now and then and a corner neighbor enjoyed their weed. So those were the interesting smells. But all in all a good location, nice beach and good pool.

Pictures a bit deceiving as we expected to be right on Lake Michigan. However, the golf cart and beach accessories provided by gist made it very convenient and enjoyable. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Lake Michigan beach experience was unforgettable!

We often stay at the same place when we go to Michigan, this year it was booked. We were very pleased with this vacation getaway. The location is amazing, perfect layout for the family. The pool and golf cart were an added bonus. We will definitely return next year.

The owner was friendly and easy to communicate with. The condo had a great open concept living area and lots of room for our entire family. The only downside was that the bathrooms were small and there is a humidifier that needs emptied frequently. However, the pool was really nice and the beach was amazing! I definitely recommend renting the golf cart to drive to the beach!

Anniversary of the death of both parents and I needed to get away. This condo was way more than we needed, so much room! We loved the peace of drinking coffee and looking at the lovely Lake Michigan. You won’t be disappointed!

Everything was good, except that the second bedroom lacked any kind of air conditioning and was like a sauna. I really think that this should be fixed

The location to the beach and pool is awesome. The golf cart is a great asset to come and go from the beautiful beach. We had a great time at our stay, but there are some things we wish we had known and if we had , we may have chosen not to stay here. The living room, dining room and kitchen are exactly as pictured and nicely remodeled. The kitchen had any extras you might need for cooking. The air conditioning is a portable cooling system that vents through the wall and only does a fair job of cooling the condo. The 2 extra bedrooms are rather warm and humid. The bathrooms have no air conditioning and are just plain hot and humid, not ideal for trying to feel fresh and clean during and after a shower. These air conditioning units are very loud and run pretty much nonstop and can only be set on 72 degrees. It makes it difficult to have a conversation without feeling like you are having to almost yell to be heard. The master bedroom and master bathroom have a terrible moldy, musty smell that as another person stated in their review, is very off putting. The unit is in need of a deep cleaning, especially under the beds and along the baseboards. Who ever does the cleaning is only cleaning the middle. Tony seems like a super nice guy and very responsive to any communication. I am sure if we had asked he would have sent someone in to clean, but we didn't want to deal with someone coming in to clean once we had already checked in. If the air conditioning situation and the terrible smell from the master bathroom could be fixed it would make this a much better place to stay. We didn't let these issues keep us from having a great time, but they are things we wish we had known before booking.

This place is about a half mile walk to a beautiful private beach. The hill is very steep, so our golf cart came in handy. The pool was clean and never crowded. The beds were comfy, the place was clean, and the couches and furniture was great. The kitchen had a nice coffee bar and all appliances you would need. The cons:. Two big issues was that all the water smells like rust from all the faucets. You come out of the shower and smell it in your hair. Also, we had a bad sewer smell off and on outside and inside the house the entire stay. I will say that the owner was prompt in calling us back and had a plumber there the next morning. They found raw sewage was leaking in the pipes inside, but that doesn't account for the outside smell. Maybe something to do with the septic system. They were working on it when we left, so I'm hoping they get it resolved. Small issues, you have to bring your own towels. Beach towels, kitchen towels, wash cloths, bath towels etc. We are a large family so it was a pain to have to pack all that extra. Not too many coffee cups, so bring your yeti or some disposable cups. For almost 4grand a week, it would be nice to have kitchen and bath towels provided. Overall, if not for the septic issue and smelly water (maybe that's a Michigan thing), I would definitely go back.

The property itself was very nice. The pool and golf cart were nice perks as well; kids spent a lot of time in the pool. The beach is maybe a 5-10 min walk with a pretty big drop, I would really recommend the golf cart, especially with kids. It rained a good amount while we were there and there was a musty smell in the master bedroom, that was the only negative thing I would have to say about the property. St. Joe's is about a 10 min drive as well. Nice stay overall.

This place was amazing. My first time to Michigan Lake and was one of the best vacations we ever had! Weather and beach were absolutely perfect. Tony was very nice to deal with, and the condo was cozy. Would definitely stay here again.

The unit itself was nicely decorated and roomy; however it wasn’t what we expected. The unit is in the middle of the bottom floor of units, so you could hear people walking around upstairs. There were two AC floor units-one in the main area and one in the master bedroom...the other two bedrooms just had fans, so they were warm. The master bedroom had no windows (thus no second fire escape exit), so it was completely dark when the lights were off and the door was closed. The beds were softer than we like, so we just used extra pillows from other beds to place under our backs.The master bedroom and bathroom were humid and had a musty smell. There was a dehumidifier in the main area, perhaps one in the bedroom would help?? We would empty it two to three times a day.The “private” garden entrance was sliding doors from a shared patio area, and was the only door to the exterior; the pool and beach area were also shared with all the other condos in the area, so could be quite crowded if everyone came at the same time. This was a very pleasant stay with our family. The condo had everything we needed; pool, golfcart, private beach for us to stay home and stay safe! With COVID on our minds it was nice not to worry because we could be secluded. Sunsets and beach were amazing! Walking around the property or on the road was very accessible. tucked back in an area that was quiet and peaceful.

The golf cart was a bonus that I didn't realize we were getting. My kids loved driving in it and it was an absolute must for carting all of our beach gear. The beach is the gem to this rental! Beautiful and private, we enjoyed it in the afternoon and went back at sunset for gorgeous photos. One day we had the whole thing to ourselves for about 3 hours. At most, 5 families at one time. St. Joseph is a cute little town only 10 minutes away We enjoyed shopping and eating on the rooftop at Rybelle's. My kids also really enjoyed the escape room at Puzzlemental. We went to South Haven to shop for the day and it is awesome!Tony was great to work with. I had an issue with a clogged toilet the first day we got there. After texting him he promptly had someone ready to come over and take a look at it. My advice to him would be to have a sheet of instructions and advice for renters when you arrive.I was unsure at first of the dehumidifier and air conditioning (very simple -just turn on! - but might be nice to state on a list), also unsure of where to put the garbage, and would have loved some suggestions of restaurants and places to go in the area. Not a big deal, as looking online solved all of our problems! Just nice when someone who knows the area makes recommendations.All in all a great spot for a family vacation!

The property was very clean and most of the furnishings looked like they were new. Tony was wonderfully responsive throughout our stay. There was a huge storm while we were there that took out the power and water and Tony even had them deliver bottled water to us! The pool was wonderful and well tended. The entire property is clearly well taken care of. The only reason I'm not giving this five stars is that it wasn't clear to me from the listing that this is a basement unit in a multi-unit building. There is very little natural light - a sliding door in the front and one working window in the back bedroom. There are no windows in the MBR. Although you can see the lake from the outside patio, the only "view" from inside the unit is of the pool. It didn't affect our enjoyment of our vacation, but I wish I had known.

Our family loved our 6 days in Michigan at this property. We have a 5 and 8 year old and the pool is what made the whole property worthwhile. The pool is heated and large and very clean. It’s shared with the other condo units but even over the weekend it was never remotely crowded. The condo was also nicely updated and clean upon arrival. Communication with the owner was also quick and pleasant. That said, the private beach on the property is not at al accessible. We understood that with the unprecedented high water levels that the beach front could be much diminished and when we enquired about it, Tony was upfront about the beach erosion. What he didn’t say is that where the beach access used to be, the entire hillside has collapsed and is roped off by fencing and caution tape. This made that beach front fully inaccessible for our family, which felt like a larger omission than was shared. There were a few small issues like lack of any shades on the kids bunk room glass doors that opened onto to the living room, this wouldn’t been an easy fix. Bring extra towels/blankets to cover the glass doors until this (hopefully) gets addressed. The master bedroom/bathroom also has an odd door(s) to another unfinished area that gives off a strong mildew smell. At the end of the day though, even without the beach and the other small indiscretions, our kids had a blast and are asking when we go back. With some minor improvements and a bit more transparency about the beach, this unit would be an absolute gem!

Calgon take me away. Quick trip with friends we haven’t seen in years. Awesome place lots of space. Poolside condo with the Lake a 2 min walk away. Water was up but kids still had a great time at the mini beach. Incredible place!! Will be back and will tell everyone about it. See you soon!

This was our first time ever renting someone else's house and a vacation with our daughter's family. It was an enjoyable time and put our minds at ease as soon as we saw the inside. We would do it again!

My family and I(which included 2 adults over 60, 2 adults in 30's and 3 year old) stayed at Tony's place for 5 days. The condo was very spacious for our group and very nicely remodeled. We picked this location to be close to Lake Michigan and have a beach vacation. Although the actual beach on the property was not usable due to the very high lake levels this summer, this was mother nature fault and no one else. There was a bluff on property for breathtaking sunsets too! We found an amazing beach, Silver Beach in St. Joe just a quick 10 min drive away. We also had the pool that was directly out our door as a backup, this is a nice perk of the condo. Tony was also super quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had, even allowing us to check in a little early our first day. He delivered us a BRAND NEW grill same day when the one on property wasnt working properly and also got someone over to clean up the pool for us same day as well! Tony was great. His place is very nice. And the location, right between St. Joe, South Haven and Saugatuck, you can't beat. Thanks again

Tony's place was really nice, with plenty of room and nice fairly recent updates. The pool was a stone's throw away, which worked out really well, given that the beach was nonexistent--which would be my only complaint.

This is what happened (my text message to Tony via vrbo): Hi Tony. We got the internet fixed okay. The main issue now is the pool. We are going on Monday (been checked in since Friday) and my boys can not swim. My youngest has auto immune deficiency disorder and won’t be able to swim tomorrow even if they get it clear and shocked. Our impression from Vrbo was that the beach was private and walkable. None of us can even enjoy the beach. My sons can get down there but can’t really get back up. My mother is disabled and couldn’t even get back up the hill. My other mother in law has asthma and has had two asthma attacks because of the inside gutting going on behind the door. We also have ran out of towels and can’t find the washer and dryer to save our lives. The is the first vacation that we’ve had since my father in law passed away and my father passed as well when my youngest was in diapers. I tried making Father’s Day nice for my husband but all we heard during Father’s Day dinner was drilling from the pool. We also heard a lot of yelling and very foul language all afternoon. I had to get the kids out of ear shot more than a few times. I understand that the weather is out of your control and I also understand some things as a business owner you cannot control. As a renter we would like to respectfully pay you for three nights and leave tomorrow. I booked this place a year ago when my father in law died, and tried to make it nice. Just wanted to touch base. They told me open around. 2-3 PM. Thx. Tony. This was my immediate response: Ok we left. I’ll touch base with you later I’m currently dealing with my sick child. You can rent it out. Long story short, We needed two antibiotics; $100 at The pharmacy; four doctor’s bills, and an awful vacation. And we’re out a ton of money. I have pictures and bills to prove this awful experience.

This condo worked out perfectly for our trip home for Christmas! Tony, the property owner was wonderful, he and his sweet son Max even put up a Christmas tree for us! There is a nice view of Lake Michigan from the patio and easy access to the beach!

What an excellent host Tony is! Enjoyed our stay! Off the beaten path, yet close to town. The condo is super clean and easy to settle into. Nice quiet neighborhood with the lake within a short walk. Looking forward to returning in the future!

A good location but no AC and no ice maker hurts a summer rental. Luckily it was a cool week.
