The owner was the kindest most professional and attentive I have ever encountered and he offers a great place to stay. Exceptional water heater and each room was decorated nicely and well equipped.

We loved our stay here! Jim was a fantastic host and the place had everything we needed. Nice big windows, fun to watch deer in the back and front, and the stars were incredible! We loved sitting out on the deck amidst the aspen grove. The place was cozy and perfect for 2 couples, plus our dog. It was our first time to Lake City and the scenery here is gorgeous. Everyone in town was so friendly and welcoming. My husband accidentally left something behind, and when I texted Jim, he was right on it, found it and sent it to us the same day. :) We would definitely stay here again!

Great property and wonderful hosts! Lake City is a great, jumping off spot for all of the activities that this part of Colorado has to offer. The Gowdy’s are wonderful hosts , and easy to get a hold of if you have any issues. We will definitely stay here again!

Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing. Jim gave us a plethora of information of things to do. We explored the Alpine Loop, did some hiking and visited the old mines. Loved going up to Windy Point at night to see the stars. Enjoyed the hot tub and found everything we needed to cook. Especially liked the small touches in the condo like noise machines in the rooms. Would stay there again.

Great 2 bed 2 bath apartment in downtown Lake City. My wife, another couple and I spent two nights at this gem of a place in Lake City. We used the fire pit on the first night and the hot tub. The next day, we hiked Handies Peak and again used the hot tub. The kitchen had all the utensils needed and the place was perfect. Being my first time to Lake City, I would definitely rent this place again.

Very friendly owner and great communication. Very small kitchen with limited dishes. No dishwasher and limited seating. Great location.

Very small apartment. Fairly well stocked. Comfortable accommodations. Had a great deck. Has a hot tub but we didn't use. Oven hadn't been cleaned in awhile and when we used it to toast garlic bread for dinner it set the smoke detectors off as it burned off whatever was in there. Was pretty small for four people but we enjoyed our stay. Jim was very nice and personable.

After spending 35 plus miles on back country trails, rolling into Lake City (after a briefish stop at the Lake City Brewery for sustenence) this property suddenly went from being an over night place to stay, to our home for the evening. House is very clean, cute and tidy with many whimsical and heart warming touches! This is our second time staying here and as anyone knows who spends time out and about from time to time, repeat stays speaks volumes! I am hesitant to speak too highly of this property so as not to have it become so popular that it possibly become hard to reserve, but at this time, I cant help it! This place is a gem! Love it and the Gowdys are extremely hospitable! We, shall, return...

My family of 4 adults plus one dog loved our stay in Gowdy Suite 2! Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, full fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. Having 2 full bathrooms was great for our group, plenty of towels, including extras for the hot tub. Beds were comfy, though the pull-out wasn't particularly. No dishwasher or laundry so washed by hand. Hot tub was much appreciated after climbing 14ers! Peaceful neighborhood beyond barking neighbor dogs. Hanging out on the deck was particularly nice. Jim was really great in communicating, very responsive. Would definitely love to stay again!

We had a great stay! We had a warm welcome. Communication was great and we had a quick response. It was a wonderful location and we enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking.

The property is wonderful. I sat on the deck in the morning and listened to the birds. It is a very peaceful place. Great way to start the day. The owner provided the best communication that I have experienced with any trip. Warm, friendly, and extremely helpful!

From check in to check out Jim was extremely helpful. He sent us directions with pictures knowing how to get there as well as where to park. We were starting out on the BDR and needed a few things and he happpily helped us. The place was clean and comfortable. We hope to stay here again when we come back through Lake City. A friend and I had planned a las minute trip to Lake City. There were plenty of rustic motels In town that we’re available, but we really wanted more space than a motel room or two. This property was super clean, nicely updated and very well appointed for guests. We enjoyed having our own space (including 2 bathrooms). The outdoor seating on the deck and hot tub (super clean btw) we’re an added bonus. The proximity to restaurants is perfect as well - just a short walk. For a smaller group, you’d be hard pressed to find a better option for accommodations in Lake City.

We came to Lake City to hike and to run a trail race.The location is peaceful and shady, and a short walk to the center of town. We loved having access to the outdoor hot tub.

The best little cozy place! SO clean and packed with all the necessities! Even coffee and creamer were stocked. Large amounts of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Lots of towels and very very comfortable bedding. Owner helped us out a lot with trails we could take our atv on!

Wonderful to have access to quality linens, multiple tvs, oven, microwave, and hot tub. My kids had a blast and had privacy from each other with 2 bathrooms.

Couldn’t have been happier staying in a place that felt like home away from home.

There’s a lot to like about the property and the hosts are absolutely the best. Jim texted us a few days before arrival with checkin instructions. On arrival, he then met us outside late to help us get our trailers pulled into a safe place and give us last minute tips about our stay. The place was as described. It was a pretty perfect base camp for 2 couples to ride RZRs in the mountains. The town and Alpine Loop trails are accessible directly from the property. The bedrooms are a little small but there’s still plenty of room in the living room to store extra gear. Everything was functional and with a tankless water heater, you never have a hot water problem. Having two full bathrooms with showers was a blessing for 2 couples. A fully equipped kitchen complete with complementary coffee was very nice. Would totally stay here again.

We hiked 2 14ers and this was base camp. Just love the place and will return. The hot tub and lighted stairway were great! Having coffee provided was great too. It was like going home.

The location was great and the host was responsive. Everything you need was in the unit and the hot tub is clean! It was nice to have a comfortable space for our dog.

This place was clean and the beds were comfy. Everything we needed was there. 2 bathrooms was super helpful because my daughter and her husband stayed with us. My 2 dogs loved the gated balcony to hang out on. The hot tub was amazing after a day trip up Engineer Pass The hosts were very accommodating and answered all of my questions. All in all a really good experience.
