The whole experience from booking to relaxing at the villa was just amazing . Wouldn’t change anything . Other people have listed all the good detailed points and I totally agree. Would highly recommend.

Das Apartment ist wunderschön gelegen, in einem sehr gepflegten Komplex. Die Wohnung ist sehr groß und mit allem ausgestattet was für angenehme Tage auf Mauritius benötigt wird. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich in fußläufiger Nähe. Der Vermieter kümmert sich ausgiebig um seine Gäste. Die direkte Anbindung an den Strand bietet die perfekte Erholung und auch die Sonnenuntergänge sind von der Terrasse wunderbar zu beobachten. Wir können nichts negatives sagen, sehr zu empfehlen!

Die gut eingerichtete Wohnung liegt ideal, direkt am Meer und von der Terrasse aus jeden Abend die tollsten Sonnenuntergänge zu sehen. Jean Claude (Besitzer) und Fratima (tägliche Reinigung) immer hilfsbereit und ebenso verantwortlich für diese aussergewöhnlich erholsamen Ferien. Jederzeit wieder ! Stephan & Renate

Das Ferienappartment ist wunderbar gelegen, sehr großzügig ausgestattet und bietet allen Komfort, den man sich im Urlaub nur wünschen kann. Die Einrichtung ist modern und gemütlich, hat den tropischen Spirit und die Wohnung ist hervorragend geeignet, um mit 4 - 6 Personen einen komfortablen Urlaub zu verbringen. Die Küche ist bestens ausgestattet, um darin kochen zu können. Ein Grill ist vorhanden, um darauf leckeren und fangfrischen Fisch oder Fleisch zubereiten zu können. Das Beste aber ist der atemberaubende Blick auf den Infinitypool und das direkt dahinter liegende Meer. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind legendär und ein Traum und die Erinnerung daran wird uns über den Winter helfen. Der Pool ist sehr gepflegt, wird ständig überwacht und groß genug, um darin auch schwimmen zu können. Jean-Claude kümmert sich liebevoll um die Gäste und Pratima, die gute Seele der Wohnung, sorgt alle 2 Tage unauffällig für die Reinigung, bezieht die Betten neu und kocht auf Wunsch leckere creolische Gerichte. Die gesamte Appartment-Anlage ist in sich geschlossen und wird durch einen Conciergeservice überwacht. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe, so dass die Selbstversorgung überhaupt kein Problem darstellt. Auch ein paar nette Restaurants befinden sich in fußläufiger Nähe. Alles in Allem können wir sagen, dass es die bisher beste Location war, die wir als FeWo-Urlauber angemietet haben. Es war ein traumhafter Urlaub, den wir mit erwachsener Tochter und 11-jährigem Sohn bei Jean-Claude in der Esplanade-Appartment-Anlage verbracht haben. Sehr gerne möchten wir irgendwann einmal wiederkommen.

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of visiting Mauritius during the last week of September this year (2019). Staying at Jean-Claude’s apartment in La Preneuse contributed significantly to holiday perfection. The apartment is much bigger and better as perceived by looking at the photos. All modern appliances, very clean, and it has everything required to cater for every need you might have. Complete and luxurious comfort in a very peaceful and stunningly beautiful environment. The location just abducts you away to a world that is in total harmony with nature. Having coffee on the patio staring at the stunning turquoise water right in front of you, makes you feel like you are truly in paradise. Right next to the apartment is a few large wild fig trees that becomes alive with the sound of what seems like thousands of small birds for about an hour or so. Such a treat. This location allows for hours of beach walking. It is conveniently situated close to a petrol station, Food lovers market, lots of good restaurants, a large supermarket 2 minutes drive away. The area is upmarket and felt totally secure (I even left the sliding door open a few times when I left the apartment). It is also a fantastic location for daily excursions as it is close enough to both Le Morne’s beaches for amazing snorkeling to the south and the very very popular Flic en Flac beach to the north. Also close by is the must see Black River Gorges National Park (via the exhilarating Champagne road) and the Chamarel Waterfall / Seven Coloured Earth. I feel that the West coast is the place to stay in Mauritius because of this. I would like to thank Jean-Claude and Pratima for their genuine hospitality. They took great care in making me feel welcome and looked after. Jean-Claude called me before I departed from South Africa to make sure that my late Sunday night arrival went smoothly. It was always pleasant to talk to the ‘Encyclopedia of Mauritius’ , lol! I highly recommend staying here. You will not want to leave paradise!

The property was excellent and provided a fantastic base for a relaxing family holiday in Mauritius. It was very comfortable with all the facilities we needed. Our two boys (10 & 11) loved playing in the pool and snorkelling in the sea which was shallow enough to be really safe for around 100m offshore. There are great local convenience shops and places to eat within a few minutes walk and plenty of sea based activities in nearby Tamarin and Black River. For more adventurous in land activities there are plenty of excursions within 30 mins drive including the Black River National Park, Chamarel and Casela nature park. Overall, we would highly recommend the property for anyone looking for a quiet, self catering holiday in Mauritius with lots of activity options close by,

We have just returned and Jean Claude has been a wonderful host. The apartment is beautiful, even better than in the pictures, very spacious and ideally located directly at the beach. Pratima, a very nice cleaning lady, is coming to the house every second day. All in all, while pictures usually do not tell the whole story and there is always a degree of uncertainty as to whether or not your holiday accommodation will actually live up to your expectations, this apartment is better than expected and can be highly recommended. Book without fear, this apartment is great.

Un posto incredibile, chi cerca un posto silenziosissimo, meraviglioso, con tramonti spettacolari non deve cercare oltre. Prenotate qui senza ulteriore indugio. Il proprietario è stato squisito facendoci entrare il primo giorno di mattina presto e lasciandoci andare l’ultimo giorno la sera. Casa enorme e arredata modernamente. La signora che pulisce tutti i giorni, tranne la domenica, si chiama Pratima, sempre pronta a dare una mano e una sera ci ha anche cucinato mauritiano, tutto squisito.

Propriété de très belle facture, idéalement positionnée. L'appartement est réellement celui des photos... Le plus de notre séjour , très peu de personne dans les autre appartements. Je recommande vivement !

We had a wonderful vacation. Great location with the beautiful Black River national park and the mountains to protect from the eastern wind and rain. 300 meters direct snorkeling to the coral reef and wonderful fresh fish (marlin and tuna) at the shop 100 meter away perfect for the barbecue with a squeeze of lime. Bakery is 200 meter away and supermarkets also within walking distance. The apartment is really nice. Large and well disposed. Best location in the complex of 12 apartments with a private terasse and great views of the Indian Ocean.

Situation exceptionnelle pieds dans l’eau sur la plage de la Preneuse. L’appartement est très bien équipé et ses 3 chambres disposent de leur propre salle de bain. La magnifique piscine est située juste face à l’océan où l’on peut admirer chaque soir au magnifique coucher de soleil et ensuite assister au concert des oiseaux qui viennent à la tombée du jour dans le majestueux arbre à côté de la terrasse. Pratima vient tout les jours faire le ménage comme dans un hôtel. Le propriétaire Jean Claude est une personne charmante qui aime rencontrer ses hôtes et partager un moment avec. J’ai passé une semaine magnifique avec ma fille à Rivière Noire !!! Cela fait seulement quelques heures que je suis de retour et déjà Maurice me manque beaucoup. Vivement ma prochaine visite.

We (a German family with two 20 years old sons) stayed two weeks in the apartment and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The apartment is spacious and comfortable - and perfectly serviced by Pratima every day (except Sundays). It is situated in an apartment complex with 12 apartments in total. It is on the ground floor and closer to the pool and the sea than the other apartments, means you are kind of separated. Next to the terrace which offers a very nice view over the infinity pool and the ocean is an old banyan tree which does not only produce "African feelings", but it also hosts every day during sunset (which is by the way phantastic as you look to the west) hundreds of birds who give a "concert" while the sun is going down -unforgettable! If you decide to spend your day at the pool/the beach, your day could look as follows: in the morning, you go to a supermarket called "Food Lovers" (5 minutes walk) to buy fresh baguettes and/ or croissants, plus some fresh fruits. After breakfast, you quickly go to the fish shop (2 minutes walk) and buy the "catch of the day", which could be red or white snapper or blue marlin or tuna - not a big choice, but, more importantly, FRESH! In the evening, you put the fish on the Weber gas grill which is on the terrace of the apartment, and you will have the feeling that life can't be better.... If you prefer meat - no problem: there is a butcher next to the Food Lovers with all sorts of fresh meat. During the day, you relax at the pool/ the beach in a quiet atmosphere. The pool is big enough to really swim in it (I went for a morning swim almost every day, one peaceful hour every day with the sun rising behind the little mountain behind the village). The sea is not very deep (good for children), so not ideal for swimming, but you can walk in the water to the riff and do some snorkelling there, you can see quite many fish and corals. From the apartment you can easily go by car to the south-western part of Mauritius (to Le Morne and to the National Park). When you go the National Park, I strongly recommend having lunch at a restaurant called "Le Chamarel", it is nicely located in the mountains and offers creol cuisine - and a phantastic view over the coastline and the ocean. You have to make a reservation (online) in advance. Last but not least: Jean-Claude, the owner of the apartment, is a very nice person. Thanks for your hospitality, Jean-Claude! Simple summary: book the apartment and go to Mauritius!!

We (5 adults) spent two wonderful weeks in this great apartment in Mauritius. There is really nothing missing to spend a perfect and relaxing vacation. Jean Claude is a very nice and attentive host and Pratima makes a great effort to keep the whole apartment clean and tidy every day (except sunday). The location is perfect for many leisure activities (e.g. Tamarin Bay for surving and diving is only 3km away, there are two big supermarkets, many good restaurants etc.). All in all we were very sad that time went by so fast and that we had to leave this wonderful place. We are really looking forward to coming back!

We were two couples staying for 2 weeks in late November 2017. We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was perfect for us, with excellent room facilities and good beach. This apartment is very well located at Esplanade, might be the best location in the whole Esplanade property. We were swimming in the sea each morning, and in the pool each night before going to bed. The location was good, excellent restaurant Moustache in just a few minutes walking distance. Still mainly we made our own meals, buying fresh fish etc. for it. Weber barbeque belonging to apartment was very usefull. We had a rented car, so we could move around the island, playing golf at several golf courses. The traffic in Mauritius is not nice, lots of traffic jams and dangerous driving, and on the wrong side of the road. Everything went well anyway. Another disadvantage are mosquitoes. They are not any major problem if you just use protective repellent in the evenings from the first day. Mosquitoes, however, are not a fault of this apartment, they are present all over the island. If I had to decide once again, where to stay at Mauritius, I would definitely choose this place. Thank you for our host Jean Claude. You were very nice and helpfull. We ( a couple) stayed for one week at the end of May and loved our stay here. The apartment is one of 12 on the complex but there were usually only 3 others occupied at that time of year. We usually had the pool to ourselves, but the ocean was warmer! Remember to bring your water shoes as there is coral everywhere. The owner, Jean Claude, phoned several times and dropped by once to make sure that everything was okay. Pratima, the housekeeper, came everyday except Sunday to clean, and for an extra cost she shopped and prepared a Mauritian dinner for us one evening. We didn't have a car but were able to walk to get groceries ( short walk to small market and long walk to larger London supermarket, snacks and bakery items at gas station nearby) and to visit the restaurants nearby (le bon Chute, Buddy's for burgers, Cozy Garden, and an Indian restaurant.) Fixtures and fittings in the apartment are first class, and the kitchen is equipped with all sorts of pots and gadgets and dishes. The only surprise is that we were responsible for supplying toilet paper after the 1 1/2 rolls that were provided on our arrival ran out, plus all the kitchen food basics like salt and pepper. The towels and sheets were not changed - perhaps this was our responsibility as well but it should be conveyed. But these were minor inconveniences to a lovely stay in an amazing location - quiet and secure. There is no public access to the beach in this area, and the apartment is set well back from the road, with 24 hour security. Amazing banyan tree beside the apartment where each evening the birds gather to serenade you with their music. Lovely walks along the beach, perfect for those who want a quiet and relaxing time - there's no nightlife here! TV only has English news channels, no programmes, so bring some books and enjoy the lovely views.

The ground floor apartment is ideally located on the west coast taking full advantage of the magnificent sun sets every evening. In a small private residence of 12 apartments discretely built in accordion so each apartment is private, Jean Claudes’ apartment was perfect, full amenities and tastefully decorated. Pratima looked after the cleaning admirably. Every morning you wake up and take a plunge in either the cascading pool overlooking the beach or directly in the turquoise lagoon just in front. Facilities nearby? everything grocer, butcher, fish shop, wine store, just 100m way with the London supermarket 1km away. Hungry at lunch take a stroll down the beach on the left 300m to find a small beach front hotel with sea view restaurant. Excursions loads nearby. All in all absolutely perfect with a special treat for bird lovers every evening only to be discovered when there.
