Place was great with a lot of character. Close to the beach and Center St. We weren't there for the bar scene but that didnt get in our way. We could hear the bands but they werent disruptive. Sprial stair case is not for everyone (including our 35 lb dog). Great place.

The property was great and came just as advertised. Great location, just a few blocks from the main strip, from Bert's groceries, and from the beach. The house was clean and in great shape. No problems other than the Wifi going out on us one day, but management was quick to help us get it back online. There was a bit of a musty smell in the basement, but that was it.

My family and I had a wonderful stay during the week of Christmas. The house was perfect as we visited our sailor attending NNPTC. There are so many unique features of the home, from the spiral staircase to the LP collection. Everything we needed was right there. The beach is a quick five-minute walk. The Folly Beach pier and Main Street area are just as close. And you can be on the Battery in Charleston in 25 minutes. I imagine the house is even more enjoyable during the summer months. Definitely worth the trip. Thanks for sharing your home!

Perfect location. Short walk to grocery store, beach and many cool restaurants. Loved the island vibe. Easy drive to Charleston. Home was clean and comfortable and had a fun, colorful decor. The spiral stairs may be an issue for some. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for letting us stay at your home!

The Shell House was very comfortable and the layout and design of the house was very unique. It was easy to get to the beach which a definite plus! There was a issue with the internet but it Steve responded quickly and it was resolved as was an issue with a light switch (my misunderstanding🙂) Someone came within minutes to help! Would stay at Shell House again!

Our large groups had such an awesome time in this house. We had all the space we could have needed for little ones to nap and older kids to enjoy themselves. The location is STELLAR. Mere minutes of a walk away from everything we needed. So sad to leave, but excited to come back next year! Truly and unforgettable vacation.

My fiance and I had a family trip with all of our siblings and this house was perfect!! So much character and so comfortable, it was everything we needed. They had everything and the location cannot be beat! Thanks so much!

We had a wonderful time for my daughter’s birthday! The house is convenient to the beach, Center St and Bert’s! The property managers are awesome and very quick to respond to questions. Definitely recommend!

We had 5 family members young adults and parents, and the shell house was more than comfortable...would probably be comfortable for up to 8 people. We enjoyed the layout and amenities - walking to the close by restaurants and picking up groceries at Berts to grill for a couple of meals as well. The house has many seating areas for fun - games in the main living room, and in the downstairs game room. Even our 21, 22 and 23 year olds enjoyed the vinyl and CD collection provided with the house stereo system. The quirkiness of some of the home features added to it's charm for us. Absolute biggest plus is the location: very short walk to Bert's, Taco Feo, the main strip of restaurants and bars and, of course - the beach!!! We are already planning our return.

This is our second time staying at the Shell Station House and we loved it both times. It’s the perfect location and has everything we need. The ONLY complaint is that there is very weak water pressure (if someone is doing laundry or in another bathroom it’s almost impossible to shower). Other than that I have nothing but good things to say. We’d stay here again gladly!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Shell Station in Folly Beach. The house was charming and the location was fantastic. We could walk to everything. We even lucked out with the weather. We enjoyed playing vinyl on the stereo. We had seven people and there was plenty of room. It was also nice being able to bring our pets to the house.

This was our second trip to the Shell House with a large group. We were greeted by a nice bottle of wine and key lime cookies as we unpacked for our stay. There is something and someplace for everyone in a large group. The younger ones could play games downstairs, or enjoy a game on the indoor porch. Others could enjoy the record play and kitchen/living area. The location is fabulous...it is so close to Bert's grocery, the beach, and all restaurants. It is in a private setting and you genuinely feel at home. We'll be back again!

Wanted a place for an epic weekend with friends and wife deep sea fishing. This definitely did not disappoint. Check in was flawless. The place had everything you could need and then some. Except for the quick 15 minutes to our chartered deep sea boat we walked the entire weekend to restaurants, bars, grocery store and the beach. The truck never left the driveway. Thank you so much for your home!!! EPIC!!!! (By the way, we caught 700 pounds of mahi and a 250 pound blue marlin!!)

Came to Charleston / Folly Beach to visit our son who is at CofC. House was comfortable and located perfectly from beach and food, shopping activities. Kids spent hours playing foosball and the family played a mean game of Clue. Simply a great stay.

This is our second stay at the shell house we were there for a wedding which was beautiful !

We had the following issues with the ShellHouse: 1. We were surprised to find the house in a “under repair” state - the tarp on the ceiling above the kitchen, the old set of glass doors on the patio, the loose threshold on the entrance to the upstairs bedroom, unfinished trim. We expected the house to be in good shape - it was not. 2. The grill is rusty and dirty - clearly it has not been cleaned in some time. 3. The dishwasher does not work. I texted about this and never received a response. 4. The disposal does not work. 5. The upstairs shower could only be used by dwarves and children. 6. The circular stairs are dangerous and much too small for adults. 7. The hot water heater is inadequate for the house. In summary, we were very disappointed with the house.

Lots of outdoor space great location. Hosted a bachelor weekend had a blast!

We had a great time at this house and were very sad to leave! It is just as fun as it looks in the pictures. A storm came through while we were there and disconnected the internet, but the owner/property manager was very responsive and worked to address the issue with Xfinity although unfortunately it wasn’t resolved during our stay. We didn’t come to use the internet and watch tv, so it didn’t bother me, and I appreciated their efforts to get it running for us again. The bedrooms were well equipped with blankets and pillows, and we had plenty of bath and beach towels to use. There was a fun assortment of vinyl records to choose from although many were scratched, but the record player definitely added to the charm of the place. We brought our own games but discovered there were already MANY to choose from in the basement! The location is very convenient, just a couple of blocks from Bert’s (the local grocery/convenience store), and only a couple more from the beach. It’s an easy walk to the beach and to town. As a Charlestonion I already knew the area, but it was so much fun to get to stay there and walk to everything! There is an outdoor shower and hose that is very convenient for washing yourself, your doggie, and any beach gear after beach trips. We spent much time on the screened in porch working on a puzzle and enjoying the breeze and sounds of the beach. The living room space was quite cozy, with great furniture . I would enjoy staying in the winter time as well since there is a fireplace both on the main floor and in the basement. Love the architecture and all the stone and wood and the spiral staircase. All in all we had an absolutely lovely stay, loved the house, and were sad when the time came to leave!

My friends and I came into Folly Beach for a bachelorette. This property was a great location to all restaurants and bars. Some of us would get up and walk to get a coffee or bagel while the others were still sleeping . This home made it very easy to come and goes as you pleased without having to book a Uber or ride . The home was very charming in regards to the winding stair case and awesome porch. We really enjoyed the screened in porch every morning while we drank our coffee and decided our plans for the day . You cannot go wrong renting this property and if I am staying here in the future , I will be staying here again.

The house was spacious and a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants. We enjoyed our time there.

Perfect location when staying in Folly Beach. House is a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the bars/restaurants. Plenty of space for all 8 guests to hang out and sleep. Great beach house.

Everything was just as it was portrayed on listing and we loved the neighborhood we were in. It was close to everything and within walking distance. We've had some bad experiences when it comes to other places, but this one definitely did not disappoint. Will stay again, if we return to Folly!

Great house location. Little older, would use the term “quaint”. Super close to the beach (walked every day with a 2 and 5 year old) and mom and dad were able to walk or short drive to date night every night (don’t worry, Grandma had the kids). Awesome location, tons of kid activities. Great outdoor shower, kids park 5 min bike ride from the house. Would recommend!
