This unit was okay, nothing special for the very expensive rate. After all the fees that Booking.com charges, it was not worth what you got. The unit had been updated in some area, but others were showing their wear. The dishwasher rack was broken, and a leaky ceiling. Not a bad place, just way overpriced for what is there.

We had a wonderful time at Kahana Sunset. The location is ideal and the property is lovely. We particularly enjoyed the pool and sitting gazing at the ocean. We had a couple minor issues and they were addressed promptly. Only complaint, and it's small, is that the unit is a bit tired and would benefit greatly from fresh carpet, paint and tiling (several are cracked). Also, while the kitchen is well stocked, we had to run the dishwasher too often because there were just enough dishes and cups for 4 people.

This property is so beautiful, loved everything. The condo was great and the surrounding area was so pretty. Everyone we encountered was so nice and friendly. Just an overall enjoyable trip.

We had a great time. We had turtles swimming in the ocean, right off the rocks to the right. Clean unit and stocked well too. The staff was wonderful when our daughter got a migraine on check out day and they let us stay an additional 3 hours so she could sleep. Will definitely be back.

Our family of 4 stayed in condo for 9 days, was great. Close to everything we did, beach was perfect, and staff at condo was friendly. The small problem we had with the wash machine was fixed in an hour. Highly recommend. Thanks for hosting our Maui vacation. Hope to be back!

We had a great experience at Kahana Sunset Resort C8! Kahana Sunset Resort exceeded expectations as did Maui I trip vacations. The pictures on the site were very true. We never used the inside table for dining, as we always ate outside. The staff at the Kahana Sunset resort are excellent, they clean the grounds / pool / grills everyday. This is a family / extended family type of place. We were four adults and an infant - 16 month old. This is an excellent location, but is about an hour away from the airport. It is north of Lahaina, and there is sometimes traffic tie ups around Lahaina. The unit served us well, especially the washer / dryer, and dishwasher, and two bathrooms! Only complaint: the Lanai off the master bedroom - the chairs need cushions or need to be elevated, as I could not see about the railing when lounging on the chairs, thereby not seeing the ocean. Also could not see any directions on how to retract the awnings, (not a big problem as we left them extended throughout our stay). Kitchen is well stocked, w/some spices. Adequate dishes/ silverware, utensils, barbeque tools, knives etc. We did not stop at Costco as all the guidebooks recommended, but stopped at the Safeway in Lahaina about 15 minutes south of the unit, and found their supplies / prices reasonable. I hope this helps. We would rent this unit again without any hesitation, or any unit in this complex.

We loved our stay and didn’t want to leave. It has wonderful views of the sunset in its double lanais. It had all the amenities including washer/dryer, AC, WiFi, cable, and dish washer. Would come back again.

Location is great. Right on a private beach with amazing views. The units are a little outdated. A simple refresh with furniture would go a long way. Otherwise, it was great, conveniently located, quiet, and comfortable.

This is a beautiful condo. Great location, nice pool and beautiful beach. The condo is updated and absolutely perfect. We were very lucky to be able to stay here.

The property is in an excellent location.

The biggest advantage to this particular property in Maui is the ease of getting large groups together. The five fastidiously clean grills and ample covered tables and chairs made getting everyone together for dinner easy...and in a beautiful setting.

We have been here 6-7 times and love the facility, staff and location. Grounds are well appointed and maintained, people visiting are always friendly and fun. Condo’s are very comfortable and well equipped, but having stayed at several different units, they can reflect previous renters and pride of ownership.

Beautiful complex and gardens. Private sandy cove, comfortable beds, great pool. Would stay here again!

We really enjoyed staying here! We were impressed by the comfortable beds and cleanliness of the condo. We especially appreciated the friendliness of the hard workers around the grounds.

We had a wonderful time in Maui and love the location where we stayed however, the condo is outdated and had a strong musty odor when we walked in. Also, water leaked from the upstairs bathroom downstairs into the kitchen due to the shower stall door not sealing/shutting properly. This could be the cause of the odor and a potential mold issue. The beds were very comfortable and the condo was clean when we arrived.

Kahana Sunset is a wonderful place to stay. The condo was very roomy and the beds were comfortable. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I really enjoyed the property. While it was a little more dated than we expected, the property was kept up well and it was a very nice and economical choice between the resorts at Ka'anapali and Kapalua. Mahalo! -Jon

Our stay at Kahana Maui was overall good. The unit was as described, with excellent property managers. The grounds are beautiful, pool was warm, and we enjoyed the sea turtles some mornings. Be aware that some residents go to bed extremely early. We were discouraged from sitting on the lanai in the evenings due to residents who go to bed at 8:30 with their windows open, and complain to management about people sitting on the lanai and talking. Extremely disappointing. We would not rent again, due to this unreasonable annoyance!

Our family rented two units for a week, ours was C8. We settled on Kahana Sunset primarily for its location near Kaanapali but quiet, neighborhood feel, proximity to a small beach, small footprint, pools, BBQs and generally positive reviews. Communication with the host was great off the bat and through the start of the visit. However, at the end of our trip we inquired about possibly extending our stay and didn’t get a response. We ended up going to Mana Kai in Wailea for 3 days and it was amazing. I agree with previous reviewers that the master bed was uncomfortable, but wasn't a big enough deal for us to raise an issue. It’s just really soft and that a personal preference thing. The condo is nicely renovated and had the essentials for surviving for a week. While the bathrooms are also nicely done, they are quite small and upstairs, a challenge for our less mobile senior guests that other should consider. Bedrooms are also upstairs. We also failed to do our homework regarding the rain and surf at Napili. In our case it rained nearly every morning and some afternoons while 5 minutes south it was sunny. The surf was quite rough during our visit so swimming in the ocean was off limits. By contrast Wailea was snorkel city. If that’s important to you, consider it as well. All in all the grounds are beautifully kept, BBQs nice and clean, pool is fantastic, and the views from the communal area are second to none. We loved the small scale and generously sized lanais. We had a great time! Mahalo!

Place was exactly as expected. Good size for a family, the 2 large lanais were great. Warm pool excellent for young children. Lots of families were there. Beach was a little rough for younger kids, but lots of quieter beaches nearby. Very convenient having the grocery store a minute away. Loved the beautiful lush area, had a great time

We love Kahana Sunset and have visited the resort many times. We were disappointed with the condo. The bed was very uncomfortable and the condo needs updating. The blinds had pieces that would fall off since it was old or too worn. The management property was responsive and tried to rectify the problems. I would suggest a new mattress and better stocked kitchen. We stayed for 10 days and fresh towels and additional paper products were not offered.
