Its situated on an industrial estate and not within walking distance of the town .

we were expecting a ‘Smugglers Cove‘ or maybe a view of the sea. unfortunately we were on an industrial estate with a view of a car park.

I've stayed at smugglers cove on a few occasions,and found it to be very clean and presentable.on our stay on the 16 October 2022.was very dissatisfied with the overall cleanliness .stains on the sofa bed and carpet .walls had something split on the walls.i know you are going to have a few marks here and there but I don't think it's acceptable with stains on sofa bed where you have to sleep on even just to relax on, unfortunately it has really put us off.as we u smugglers cove when we come down to visit family..

Value for money stay. Breakfast reasonably priced, affordable. Eat as much as you want section good value for money

On Sunday when there eere many people in for breakfast, the serve yourself section was not replaced with essential cutlery and crockery, so may need more staff to get service better. But on the whole it was pleasant

Good amenities and friendly staff. Plenty of safe off street parking. Quiet.

Stains on the carpet and walls. Leaking bath. Further out of town than expected at least 30 minute walk to the seafront.

Excellent accommodation for the price we paid. The room has Aircon, which was a major bonus during the hot weather and the room was well equipped and clean. Location wise it's excellent for Clacton. It's also next to a Mcdonald's and Lidl. We used the on-site pub/restaurant which was a disappointment, the food was no more than average and a cold larger was £6 a pint!

The attached pub was expensive for average food. Drinks were also very expensive. Next time we will stay at the accommodation but eat elsewhere.
