Stunning!

Loved this house. Cabin-y feel with lots of wood throughout, but large with several common areas. Fun antiques throughout. A shelving unit full of board games. To give you an idea of the layout: two queen bedrooms upstairs share a bathroom; double twin and queen bedroom in the main section of the house share a bathroom; double twin bedroom in the billiards wing has its own bathroom. Snow remained on the ground for all 3 days of our stay, which was lovely but... The driveway was mostly plowed but the short incline at the street was slippery and took a little effort to get back up. One also had to be careful not to slip when walking from the car to the house. The area right in front of the front door was bare (no snow or ice) and looked like it might have been salted. Owner generously accommodated parking our motorcycle in the garage.

This was our second time staying at he property. It is charming and perfect for a large group. The house is very well equipped and the kitchen is fabulous for cooking. The location to town is perfect. The house is surrounded by trees and set back off the road for privacy. It is close to many hiking trails and restaurant. We look forward to returning to the property and making more memories. The owner is quick to answer any questions.

This is our second stay here for our family of 13. The senior parents stay in the guest house and the adult children and their adult/teen kids stay at the house. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the kitchen is large and stocked, and the dining table extends to fit the WHOLE family for a beautiful Christmas dinner. The laundry room and upstairs bathroom have recently been upgraded and are lovely. Any little issue is responded to by the owner super quick and he is always helpful, understanding, and funny too! Our whole family is in agreement that this is the best place we’ve stayed at and we have been going up to Idyllwild to celebrate Christmas for over 20 years! We’ve already booked for next year too🎄

Great place! Very comfortable, great communication with host. Plenty of room for our family group of 9. Kitchen was amazing, plenty of cookware and beyond the basic supplies. Probably the best stocked VRBO kitchen ever! Hoping to make this an annual trip!

Have stayed here multiple times. Beautiful home and plenty of room for a large group. Comfortable beds and furniture and a beautiful, newly remodeled kitchen. Owner super responsive and a pleasure to do business with.

Such a quiet area, super close to town, and plenty to enjoy inside the csbin and on the property. My fanily soent time playing games provided by the cabin, using the pool table, playing outside and eating outside, using the fireplace all evening long and we cooked all of our meals together in the large and very clean kitchen and extra large pantry area. Dining table to seat all 10 of us together. It is a special place and we will definitely be back again!

Repeat guests because we love this property so much! Awesome game room with pool table and a TV for the young adults, a beautiful sitting room with a piano and tall windows with views of the towering trees, and the coziest fireplace; it might be our favorite room in the house. Gorgeous remodeled kitchen with EVERYTHING for the chefs and foodies. The outdoor deck is spacious with beautiful lighting. Big circular driveway that fit all of our Jeeps and SUVs with room to spare. And an awesome guest cottage; our first time renting it and the the photos don't do it justice; it's a beautiful quiet space just steps from the main house. My daughter said it best, it has become our annual autumn "home away from home" Excellent host, thank you David!

A wonderful large property perfect for our family gathering. Outdoor spaces were plentiful with beautiful outdoor lighting. The kitchen was fully stocked with every bit of equipment we needed (cast iron skillets and even an air fryer) making it extra enjoyable to cook together. We appreciated the high end grill outdoors too- there were both propane and charcoal grills on site). My favorite was the music room… we brought instruments, sang and danced. It felt like a family home with lots of history and happy memories.

David was a wonderful host. He could not have been kinder or more welcoming. The home and property are beautiful, full of charm and personality, and a short walk to town. We had friends and family staying with us while we celebrated our wedding (at another venue) on the hill. With musicians in our group, we so enjoyed the beautiful grand piano in the music room to have group singalongs. The weekend could not have been better, and the Marian View Lodge made for a perfect home base. Thank you, David, for your kindness!

We had a wonderful time in Idyllwild! The house was spacious with plenty of areas to hang out. The pool table, the piano, so much fun! Amazing kitchen and grill where we cooked all weekend. You’ll feel secluded while still being a short walk from town. Great stay!

My friends and I a great time here and just loved all of the design details of this home. The home felt bigger in person than what I understood from the pictures alone. Close to town, but it doesn't feel like it- it is peaceful and serene in the yard. The wi-fi, heating, plumbing, lighting and appliances were all reliable. If the occasion was right I would be delighted to stay here again.

My family and friends recently stayed at this charming cabin and had an absolutely wonderful time. It felt like a magical gingerbread house, with its cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The cabin easily accommodated our group of six adults and two children, with plenty of square footage for everyone to spread out comfortably. One of the standout features of the cabin was the music room, which was equipped with various instruments and provided hours of entertainment. We also loved the fireplace, which added to the cozy ambiance, and the spacious and well-appointed kitchen, which made meal prep a breeze. Our host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We didn't encounter any drawbacks or issues during our stay. Overall, we would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. It truly felt like a home away from home and we would even consider revisiting ourselves. What a great experience staying in this gem to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. All the rooms are very comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need, the music and game room are simply awesome. David is a great host and super easy to communicate. Thank you so much! Our family really enjoyed this place! Idyllwild is one of our favorite places to visit in winter. I came accross this gem of a home/cabin surrounded by pines. Each morning we enjoyed our coffee gazing out the window watching the squirrels run up the trees and the jays fly around. Our group made it a point to spend each evening in a different room of this charming home. Cant say enough, we did not want to leave. Owner David was very attentive and available to answer any questions we had. Thank you again, my whole family really really enjoyed it.

The house was spacious and homey. We really enjoyed being able to gather around the dinner table, sit by the fire and play pool. The outdoor space provided fresh air, good seating options under the trees and on the large deck with grills and a heater. Our dogs were comfortable and there was enough space to for them to roam and sniff. We would stay again.

Our family just returned from a wonderful early Thanksgiving celebration in Idyllwild. This was absolutely the perfect property for our growing clan, ranging in age from 5 months to 68 years! The house offered a fun space for everyone -- from the pool table room to the music room with the grand piano. all ages had the perfect spot to retreat. The property is very kid friendly, with great sight lines to keep an eye on the little ones from the incredible deck. The addition of the guest house offered us grandparents a peaceful retreat from the energy of our McGrandkids. Communication with the host was flawless, and we cannot wait to visit again! Thank you for a wonderful, memorable weekend!

We came here to celebrate some birthdays in the family. David was great with communicating--he asked me to phone him the next day to make sure we got in ok and to apologize for shower knob repairs that they couldn't get to yet. The place was cozy with many indoor and outdoor seating areas. We enjoyed looking around and happy our dogs could be with us for a reasonable pet fee. I liked the luggage bench available in my room. The family enjoyed looking at the collection of radios and unique items. Our first night I didn't sleep well due to a drunken neighbor in a hot tub talking loudly and laughing at 3 am, despite the quiet hours regulation. My husband figured out where the noise was coming from and recorded it. We also donated some dish soap because what we found under the sink was old and clumpy. Overall we enjoyed our time and appreciate David's hospitality and generosity. A firepit would be a lovely addition outdoors. Thank you for the great space to enjoy with loved ones!

Beautiful property! Spacious, lovely house! Close to town! We are all definitely staying here again!

This place was everything we dreamed of for our small romantic forest wedding. The separate bridal sweet (complete with full kitchen and mini stove and fridge) was an amazing addition to help us keep to wedding traditions and have the perfect prewedding staging area. David, the host, was so accommodating, readily available for any questions, and amazing at sharing his knowledge of the property. I cannot gush enough about what an amazing experience this was for my BRAND NEW HUSBAND and I, and all our favorite people. Love, love, love.

We needed a family get away from the summer heat and this was the perfect place. Plenty of room to break away for quite moments to read or just be still....and great options to gather around as a group. Close to town, well organized and the owner was great to deal with. We will defiantly be returning.

We have stayed at David's mountain retreat on several occasions. Plenty of space to spread out. Walking distance to town. We will definitely return.

This place is first class. Great location, walking distance from town. The outside patio area has plenty of room and the outside lighting is spectacular. The kitchen has everything you would need for your stay. I highly recommend this property. It is the best one we have stayed at in Idyllwild.

The home was a wonderful place to stay, plenty of space both indoors and out. Wonderful kitchen stocked with all the essentials. Walking distance to town. Appreciated the extensive outdoor seating and felt like a very private yard space.

Other than the guest house having stuff in it from the owner's wife, the property was perfect for our needs. I wish they would install grab bars by the toilets for the elderly in our group.

This is a lovely place for a getaway with the extended family. Plenty of space to be together or find a moment to yourself. It's an easy walk into town for more adventure.

This is a great property for families. Stayed here with my family(10 adults) over Christmas and we had a great time. More spread out than the pics make it seem which was nice. Kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The guest house was cute but it did have a few spiders hanging around. Bedrooms have individual heaters which was a plus for us. The host was very responsive and super accommodating (even on christmas day when we couldnt figure out the guest house oven). Didnt get to use to outdoor space but it looked like it would be fun in the summer.
