We liked the location

The room was quite dark with hardly any power points, - no mirror and the bathroom was horrid. The was one power point in the bathroom which I had to move a lamp into to see in the mirror, no where left then to use a hair-dryer or straightener. We were attending a wedding and to get dressed and made up was quite difficult. Also when I booked I requested early check-in and stated the wedding as a reason. We had to wait for our room and finally got in closer to 2.30. It was disappointing for the price we paid. The carpets are tacky.

Our room was available on check in which was appreciated. Later that day we used the shower and found there was only luke warm water. Fortunately arrangements could be made for an alternate room although the property was heavily booked. Whilst we appreciated the room change, the room was smaller and quite dingy with loose taps and fixtures in the bathroom. We had also booked a table for breakfast, as extended family were joining us, this was confirmed on our arrival. When we met at breakfast the next morning, there was no table in the breakfast area and a quick solution was to pop us in the bar area. Not ideal but appreciated, however I was disappointed as we had booked and confirmed. Lastly we had paid a very good rate for room as we had booked months in advance - room price was double for a family member who wanted to book last minute and in reflection of our experience, this would have not been money well spent.

The food served at the bar was very good and the atmosphere there was welcoming, intimate and cosy. The lighting in the bar area was just right.

I was staying in Room 111 which is at ground level. Outside the room in the garden beds there was a lot of rubbish. This was a disappointing discovery and one I couldnt avoid if the curtains were open. It needs to be addressed on a daily basis.
