Breakfast was good, the location was good. Nice and quiet and comfortable.
Coffee, tea etc. in a cupboard but no where to plug in the kettle so had to move everything. In a luxury room would expect a coffee maker or coffee bags and milk in the fridge. Only plug point on one side of the bed. Shower a bit awkward, situated on a side wall not in front, head needed descaling. Usually have have shower gel etc in large containers in the shower not small pots.

Stunning and quiet location
Nothing!

Location was good for us.
Compared to the hotel we stayed at the previous night, The Wellington Arms near Basingstoke, there was no comparison.
The Wellington Arms, at a substantially better price delivered a luxurious room with excellent facilities (Nespresso, toiletries, bath robes, luxurious towels), and a fantastic restaurant with excellent service.
By comparison the rooms at The Hollies were OK (kettle available and one small tube each of shampoo and shower gel) and the restaurant gave the impression of focussing on numbers rather than quality.
Cooked breakfast for example was a self service system using food warmers rather than a menu of options being served freshly prepared from the kitchen.

The breakfast staff were lovely and the rooms were spacious.
Breakfast for £15 for scrambled egg on toast was too much and the rooms were dated and not luxury.
4.4
Staff were very helpful. food was excellent and served very quickly. They warned us that breakfast may be busy due to a large party and advised us what time to come down. anything from the mini bar was charged at the same rate as the bar.

Excellent welcome, lovely room, good food, good facilities
There is nothing we didn’t like!

Food excellent, staff very friendly and efficient.

The room felt like it more geared up for benefits claimants as the decor was uninviting and dated. The bathroom although very clean was badly designed in relation to the shower, and also a visitor would expect at least bath robes considering the room was a suite!
The restaurant was well laid out and pleasant, however even with the current economic crises the meal pricing was too high for the service offered.
Compared with other local accommodation this hotel is charging around £40 per room above the local rates.

close to where we needed to be. spacious rooms. good value for money compared to what’s in the area. breakfast was very nice and service.
nothing that affected our stay but decor could do with updating.
4.4
comfortable, big room
Dated interior, shower turning on was temperamental.

A beautiful village and close to the premises I wanted to go for my meeting
It is found in a small beautiful village but it is very isolated, I arrived 10.30pm from London as I was late from my meetings in London and the village was like no-one was living there. I could not find any place to eat and when I arrived at the hotel no-one was at the reception. I had to call them and a gentleman came ( he was the owner), apparently not happy to see me that late and he did the check in. I asked where can I find something to eat as I just arrived from London and I had not anything to eat since lunch and he gave me a guidance to a petrol station 5 miles away. Their bar was still open as a lady told me that I bumped into her outside the hotel but they could not prepare a sandwich or something basic for me. Lucky that I managed to buy a bottle of water. The room was old and tired, the shower head full of scale and mouldy. The good thing was the breakfast and the lovely staff at the breakfast

Great little hotel in a convenient location for the drive from Cornwall back to London. We had the full suite as we were travelling with two children (including our 3 month old baby) and it was perfect for our needs. Very clean, quiet and the kitchenette was very useful. Lovely view from the terrace onto a wildflower meadow. The owners were very friendly and professional.
The food and service at the restaurant could be slightly better.

I dont want to speak too highly about this wonderful place as they may not find space for me next time ;)

Should be 4*,
Bar only open at 6pm, couldn't get reservation for restaurant, too full.

Really comfy bed, lots of space in the rooms and friendly staff.

The amazing, friendly reception staff member, Jenny. Such a hard working and lovely lady. Nothing was too much trouble.

The room was very comfortable and it was nice to have an outside area to sit and enjoy the sunshine.
The hotel is an impressive looking building and very clean and tidy with freindly staff.
The restaurant is very good with exceptional food.
The villiage was bigger than i expected and had quite a few impressive buildings.
If i had one complaint it would be that the restaurant/bar isn't open during the middle if the day for lunch, snacks or drinks. There are a couple of places for that close by though.

Clean, quiet, good location, ample parking. Room was very good although bathroom could be better.
Bath had no hand rails to get in & out of. For someone short or old the Bath is a little high. also a little slippery.

Wonderful location and good rooms
Bed a little hard for my liking

Room was clean and fine. Staff were helpful. But that was about it.
Sorry but the true position is written below
I told them my wife was disabled but the access was a narrow ramp with a step at the end which meant her mobility scooter would not go over it. And there was a sharp right turn which also limited her. She couldn't get in without lifting the scooter over it. I turned on the towel rail in the bathroom and it leaked all over the floor. There was no replacement toilet roll, which ran out before bed time. And to cap it all when she was writing her complaints down for the hotel the pen ran out of ink.
Also the toilet did not flush properly

We didn’t have breakfast

The size of the room, the water temperature and pressure was the only good thing about our stay
Blinds fell apart when touched
Let all the light in.
Fans didn't touch the heat in the room
Iron board and iron filthy
No dressing table
Bedding had stains
My booking was wrong (no one's fault intentionally)but not challenged my hotel until checkout
Prices was extremely high
Dust everywhere
Dark and miserable
Leather chairs and mirrors on every wall
Uncomfortable beds not very sturdy
Check out staff was rude and obnoxious
