The food is good.

First of all, the photos are lying. They show that the lux rooms have carpet on the floor, but in reality it's just marble all over. The room is very empty, misses a couch and carpets. There are no mosquito nets on the windows, and there are a lot of mosquitos. You can see stains of mosquito blood on the walls and ceiling. Everything is very old, the furniture, etc. looks like haven't changed from the 60s. The light in the room is not enough, just two lamps over the bed and two on the other side, the half of the room is without any lighting. In the bathroom, the toilet seat is like it is made for a 5 year old, very small and uncomfortable. The shower has no curtain so there will be tons of water in the floor if you want to use it. Generally there is a lot of hype for nothing, and very overpriced.

Theodore at the spa was amazing. Nearly fell asleep! The buffet was lovely and Maria was the perfect waitress. Our room was nice and the pool area lovely. the location is superb and you can take a lovely long walk along the promenade early in the morning or late in the evening. Loads of restaurants if you want to eat out. A great family location.

The passageways in the hotel do not have any aircon so its a bit hot walking the long corridors - needs more ventilation. Some indoor plants would soften the inside as well. The grounds are very weedy and the plants need some care.

Hardworking and pleasant hotel staff (expect the lady from the beach bar) big rooms, calm and restful beach area

I have never seen so many mosquitos in a hotel, mainly in a 5 star hotel. No mosquitos net at the windows, no complimentary mosquito repellent in the rooms. Lack of any intervention / remedy from the hotel. My son was full of swollen mosquitos bites during our stay; evening routine: kill 6-7 mosquitos and after that go to sleep; very unpleasant experience Don’t expect fine dinning in this hotel: you will get an ordinary 3 start food experience during your stay, average food quality/choice for a claimed 5 start hotel; The hotel was half empty during our stay, so the hotel management was making sure to make some profit to the detriment of peaceful stay of the “ordinary” guests: promotional event of cleaning companies, during from Friday to Monday with closure of half of restaurant area for the “special guests”. Further, transformation of this “5 star hotel” in a camp for approximatively 50 kids (starting from age of 9 to 15 years) from a karate school; the hotel restaurant area was half closed to organize a training area for these karate kids; while the other half was kept for dining purposes for all the hotel guests, including the karate kids therefore the restaurant was always crowded, noisy, rowdy and the lines to get food were awful (50 karate kids in front of you), limited changes you will get food and have a nice calm dining experience. As well, the mattresses for the sun beds on the beach are only available for the hotel management (weird approach). The rooms (walls, bathroom, furniture) and the spa area require renovations. The hairdryer for the 80s should be replace with a 5 start quality one. Loud ventilation system of the kitchen restaurant area under the rooms. Our Mountain View room had a garbage bins view, it was impossible to sleep after 7:30 in the morning, due to noisy garbage truck and loading operation

Wonderful spa and facilities.

The outdoor swimming pool did not have an easy access to enter for those with kinetic problems.

The pool area drinking and dining area was severely understaffed. It took forever to get served or a drink refill and it ruined the beautiful ambience
