Location close to jumbo and AH and 5 minutes to the town.
Wifi was awesome.

Gemoedelijke sfeer en vriendelijke medewerkers. Een fijne plek om naar terug te keren als we in Groningen zijn.

De locatie is fijn en goed te bereiken!
De slaapzalen waren zeer gehorig en de bedden hard en slecht. Hygiëne liet veel te wensen over: smoezelig beddengoed, vies sanitair en vieze vloeren in slaapzalen in gangen.
Het personeel was niet erg gastvrij en vriendelijk. We hadden niet het idee dat ze ons graag hielpen bij vragen.
Al met al te duur voor wat het is!

Das Simplon Hostel ist ein lebendiger Ort, an dem sich junge Reisende treffen. Interessant gelegen, toller Hinterhof-Charme. Das angeschlossene Restaurant ist gemütlich und wird gut angenommen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich.
Die Einrichtung war sehr einfach, darüber hinaus beschädigt und verrockt. Wir waren mit unseren Kindern dort und die haben sich geekelt, der Boden hatte Kleberreste und Malerreste überall und den Dreck vieler Besucher vor uns konserviert. Das Geschirr im Schrank war noch dreckig und teilweise beschädigt, Eine Glühbirne über dem Tisch war zerplatzt ohne, dass sie jemand ausgetauscht hätte, an sämtliche Rollos sind die Ketten zum Hochziehen abgerissen.
Das Besteck und Gläser fehlten war kein Problem, die konnte man sich im Haupthaus holen. Offenbar wird der Reinigungszustand nicht kontrolliert. Das Gästebuch gibt dann auch Auskunft über den Typ der Übernachtungsgäste - Junge Gruppen, die zum Kiffen in die Stadt kommen. Die Freude sei den jungen Menschen gegönnt, aber beschädigtes Inventar sollte ersetzt werden und jemand muss kontrollieren wie der Reinigungszustand ist.

Location was great and spacious rooms for hostel.
The water only had one setting and it was too hot. There was a lack of fans or windows in the hostel which made it really hot and hard to sleep.

Friendly staff, cheap locks for sale to keep. Shower warm. No noise, no unnecessary light everywhere at night. Simple and quick check in and check out. Clean. Lowest price in Groningen but still fine.
Bed bit uncomfortable. Had to make entire bed myself.

Everything was perfect! The personnel were very considerate and always willing to help. The breakfast was great. The room was cozy, and the beds were extremely comfortable! There was a kettle and a small collection of tea and instant coffee + milk in the room.
We lived on the 1st floor and shared a bathroom only with 2 other rooms, which we found to be very convenient.
The only downside is the noise insulation. We were lucky and only had 1 neighbour, who wasn't that loud, but we could still hear a lot.
Nevertheless, we really recommend staying in Simplon Hostel!

The staff is nice and the location is good.
It's to expensive for what it is. But considering the housing crisis in Groningen this is what you get. I's an old hostel with beaten up beds and old showers. It's full of drunk students.
The light at my bed didn't work. You have to buy your own lock to lock your stuff in a locker.
I'd say avoid this place, but not much is available in Groningen for a normal price, so...

Everything is really nice and clean, the staff is super kind and nice, the locations is the best because it is just ten minutes walk to arrive at the city center
