Good hotel for reasonable money. Pretty central location with easy access to Bund (recommended to visit). Not very new hotel,but still great.

The staff was super nice, polite and accommodating. The bed was extremely comfortable! The layout of the bathroom was perfect and the bathtub was better than most places. The towels were perfect size but just weren’t the caliber you should find at a hotel of this ranking. You could not ask for a better location for food choice, proximity to public transportation and a bar with great music and non-alcoholic choices!

I’ve been wanting to stay at the Crown Plaza for quite a while and I must say I was a little disappointed. The building itself was older which gave it some character and it did have modern amenities. I was extremely disappointed that the pool was out of service for several days, something that should have been disclosed on the booking site. The pool was the main reason I booked the facility. The pool is part of the high price I paid and was highly promoted in the ad in Booking, a discount is in order. Booking.com should have been notified. I would not have booked had I known it was out of order. That said, it was a good thing I was prepared for a pool because I brought my own hair products to use after swimming. Normally I don’t take hair products for washing my hair to this brand of hotel, but I’m glad I did this time because what the hotel had for use was not up to par for the type of hotel rating! It was not a top brand or style and was not very good, very watery and no conditioner was offered. Very disappointed especially for the type and star ranking of hotel and again, the cost I paid.

Location was ideal for access to the rest of the city

Lack of accessible goods in hotel room (empty mini bar and charging ports/plug sockets not working properly). Also, a ridiculous policy they have of deducting a deposit (standard practice in any hotel I know which is fine) but refusing to refund your deposit right away claiming that they needed “clearance from the bank and you need to wait 24 hours”. That’s just a lie- all other hotels refund it right away. The gym was mediocre at best and the pool was nothing to get excited about. Misleading photos shown give the impression of it being much better than it is. No additional features in changing rooms such as water or sauna as is usually typical of all other 4-5 star hotels in the city.
