This place is much more than a hostel, I felt part of a big family. All was great, from the delicious breakfast in the lovely garden, to the tours (well organised, you will have a different itinerary every day to discover the island). The staff was friendly and really helpful, and it was so easy to meet people as a solo traveler. My bunk bed was comfy and all the common areas were clean and tidy. It's a few minutes walking to restaurants, supermarkets, nightlife, and bus stop to the airport. And a 10 minutes walking to the waterfront. I couldn't ask for more!

A little improvement: All the shared bathrooms need attention, I could not find one fully functional (lights, shower door, shower head).

Every morning I could enjoy a surprising breakfast. Excellent. Showers, bathrooms: plenty of choice, clean, great showers. The garden is a very cozy place. I got to know a lot of nice people. People at the reception love their job.

If you sleep in a dorm room, nights can be a bit uneasy.

Very cool and modern hostel with amazing backyard garden and terrace. And even swimming pool, which is great option for summer time. I would really like to come back and spend more time there! :)

The breakfast each morning was filling. Yoga with granola served in a juice sized glass, one poached egg done differently every day. Fresh bread (but no way to toast it) , coffee and tea and a fresh juice from the lemon tree in the yard.

The dining area is outside and the weather sometimes a challenge. But most of the time it was pleasant.

Great location, staff was very friendly. Fun traveler/hostel vibe with nicer hotel type amenities. Great relaxed breakfast, awesome courtyard.

Parking is tight on a narrow street, but free and totally adequate.

This is not a hostel, this is a family circle. After a few days of stay you go on your daily amazing breakfast and realize you know every single person in the hostel. People are really open minded and down for all the fun that is coming. I would like to thank Adrian for his professionalism and personal approach. We was calling him angel haha, because indeed he is! a charming character with a constant smile on his face. One of the best experiences in my life :)

The staff was wonderful. The breakfast was so delicious. I loved the garden and it was really nice that there was a restaurant. It was convenient to just get dinner in the hostel and eat near the garden. I liked that the bathrooms were individual so that you have privacy.

I did not like that the beds had not curtains because other people's reading lights were bothersome. I also didn't like that the guests control the air conditioning temperature because I had roommates that kept turning it off when it was hot outside.

Everything was clean, organized and taken care of. I had to check in at 2 am because of a delayed flight but t they waited for me which was very nice. The breakfast was amazing and very delicious. Even if it's a dorm people are very respectful and do their best to keep minimum noise. I took part in some tours organized by the hostel you go with people you already know from the hostel which add to the fun. Anyway I can't recommend this hostel enough i had the best experience there and if I have to comeback I will go there again.

Staff was outstanding - very helpful and positive. The breakfasts and dinner were all excellent, and facilitated conversation between guests from many countries. Everyone was keen to share where they had visited the day before, which gave us ideas for several hikes we wouldn’t otherwise have known about.

One small and puzzling beef - in the restaurant was a nude pin-up calendar. Why? It was so out of place with the general tone of welcoming solo female travellers along with everyone else. Why should a young woman, of which there were many, have to look at this over breakfast?

The room was quite cozy and they had a big backyard.

Disadvantage was that the toilet in the room wasn’t separate. Also, the room was right in front of the reception, therefore quite noisy. It’s still a hostel so paying 140 euro per night for a double room feels overpriced.

Loved this spot. We stayed one night during our honeymoon and had a lovely private room with a private bathroom. The grounds were wonderful and peaceful. It's centrally located and perfect for the start of a visit to Sao Miguel. Would recommend.
