Great hotel and staff, food was excellent and always cooked to order, my wife has certain food allergies and these were also catered for. Nice extra setting up stairs and good to get a welcome breeze at the end of the day while having a relaxing drink. Housekeeping was excellent and every night the beds were turned down and mozzie net lowered, and the girl always sprayed the room just in case a mozzie got in. Thanks Anna and the team for a great stay, I can highly recommend this hotel

I don’t think I have enough words or praise for this amazingly intimate and secluded stay next to the Indian ocean. Buckle up this might take awhile. First, thank you Mohammed(all around fantastic manager). Staff(all the workers and specifically the young ladies serving meals, cleaning rooms, and being invaluable host) — I can’t say enough about how comfortable they made our stay and the kindness they carry in their smiles. I will miss them dearly in every trip I ever take anywhere else. Seriously! They were unbelievably special and I hope the owners realize it(they seem to). Also, Anna the owner and her significant were approachable and welcoming— never too busy to pause and ensure our week stay was pleasant every moment. Anna gave timely advice on excursions and Mohammed was there to plan out numerous excursions w/o hesitation! He single-handedly cut out middle men and bargaining by arranging transportation, boating, snorkeling, cave swimming, and basically anything we needed. Just amazing! And the FOOD! We are adventurous and get around so would’ve easily gone elsewhere for meals if needed but, no way. We ate at bungalows every meal besides one trip to The Rock(psssst the food at bungalows was better!) and Kae Funk Beach(AGAIN food was better at our stay). Breakfast, lunch, dinner. The prawns, the drinks, the local lobster, try it all if you have days like we did. Did I mention the drinks!? Plenty late nights lounging on oversized cushions, in warm air, listening to ocean and sipping inexpensive but delicious cocktails or wine. They also had CIDER! What!? The prices were pffft amazing. My final tab I expected to be outrageously large and I was stunned how low— even though I saw the prices It didn’t register the bargain it was until tallied last day. So if worried about not having a fridge or etc in room forget it. Forget it! You are so very good here. Your needs are well taken care of! I can’t state it enough.

I have zero negatives to write. It was beyond amazing.

The warm staff

This hotel is a paradise on earth - both hotel and sea are beautiful. The pool is deep and refreshing, the food is amazing in the restaurant - I would recommend Prawn Curry. :) Hotel management is very helpful and helped us with transfers and other questions. Kudos to Anna - she made us feel welcome and pampered. Pingwe beach is gem - it is beautiful both high and low tide - and you can swim here also in low tide - just walk to white sand lagoons and enjoy crystal clear sand. When I would return to Zanzibar - this hotel would be the place to return.

This is not regarding hotel - but avoid The Rock restaurant. :) It is overhyped and overpriced, the food is much better at hotel and for better price.

We had one of the beachfront bungalows and we enjoyed it a lot. The feeling that you wake up and in front of your eyes is the beach and the ocean with it’s beautiful color is so nice. Also the entire area is really nice with hammocks and swings and relaxing spaces between the palmtrees. The food was also very good. The stuff was kind and helped us with everything we needed.

There is no door between the bathroom and bedroom which is a little bit uncomfortable but it’s just a small detail

Such a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean and close to The Rock Restaurant. The Deluxe Sea View Bungalow was amazing and very comfortable. The sound and the sea was like a lullaby at night. Lovely peaceful, relaxing setting with a pool and hammocks where you can soak up the stunning views and relax. The staff were so friendly and helpful and Anna the owner made me feel so welcome and at home here.

Stunning accommodation with beautiful pool, beach and excellent restaurant. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. We only stayed here for a very short while but I wish we had had more time here. just beautiful and peaceful place :)

We were offered a breakfast box as we left early morning but when we got up to leave there was no staff anywhere and no breakfast was packed for us either... This was a little disappointing :S

What can I say, during our 3 weeks in Tansania this must have been the best place we have stayed at! The owner Anna and Ibra took so much care of the details, just great. The whole complex was renewed last year, so the bungalows and the pool area are basically brand new and in very good shape. You have a breathtaking view on the ocean from anywhere (pool, hammocks etc.), a perfect spot to relax. During low tide it is possible to swim to a sand bank directly in front of the hotel which brings out the great colors of the ocean even more. Be aware though that it's not a good spot to swim due to many rocks in the water, but that is typical for the east coast of Zanzibar. Also Paje is too far to walk (about 1 hour one way) which we were aware of before booking, so that did not bother us. I also want to mention the incredibly nice staff! Very helpful, friendly and always with a smile on their faces, we felt like home from the first second! All in all a definitive recommendation, we will be back!

Just some remarks. The beds are a bit short and the Wifi did barely reach our room, but nothing we would complain about, everything was fantastic.

The location of Mnana was beautiful, with beach access and a pool. The staff were very helpful, friendly and obliging, even making breakfast earlier for us, because of the time of our transfer!
