We absolutely loved Sea Salt Society! It is a cozy beach bar/ restaurant with 2 rooms upstairs. It is a perfect place to stay in Hikkaduwa - right in the middle of the surfing paradise, there are plenty of surf schools just in front of their place. The room itself was perfectly clean, quiet, modern, spacious, and had all we needed. What makes this place very special are the people who work at Sea Salt Society. They are so helpful, attentive, funny, friendly, and kind that we decided to change our plans and come back there again :) Also, the food and drinks in the restaurant are very delicious - highly recommend trying the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast. All staff members made our stay there very memorable and it makes us smile every time we think about Hikkaduwa. Sea Salt Society is definitely our happy place :)

Very comfortable beds and big room!

The outdoor space looks like they didn't clean it for years...the Aircon was dusty ( you can have serious breathing problems) The fan was really dusty..the bed needs painting If you want to spend 77$ a day you can find much better places

the interior design of the room was beautiful, the bed was comfy and plenty big enough for two friends to share. All amenities provided, including body lotion which helped with our sunburn. Location is good, only a 10/15min walk down the main road to Turtle Beach. Waking up and walking onto the balcony and seeing the Sea was amazing. brilliant to sit and have food and drinks throughout the day on sunbeds 👌🏽 They accommodated a late check out at 3pm for us as we weren’t leaving until 8pm, outside shower so we could clean up from the beach before flying home.

Only issue is the property does not have a generator therefore when electricity across hikkaduwa is turned off in the evenings they cannot provide food/ sat in candle light.

The view is nice. Place is next to the beach. Delicious food. Perfect place to spend time but not overnight!

The price is not adequate to reality. 10% added for the service we found out about at check in day. I would like to add that the offer was non-returnable. This should be visible when booking, especially when the accommodation is paid 100% when we want to cancel it. What service? They gave us water, shampoo and body soap, upon request, because as menager said they "not provided". There was everything in the cheaper rooms.

The staff is extremely nice and ready to help with anything. The property itself is a 2 room lodging with a huge common terrace at the top floor above the restaurant/terrace/beach-bar. The great thing is that it’s cozy and stylish, the furniture, the details, the beach beds available are all modern and neat. Lots of amenities in the room: great tv, lots of towels(check the wardrobe) the rooms are exactly like shown in the photos, they have both AC and ceiling fan, the bathroom is great with the standalone shower, and the decor is really nice, they really put thought in the overall look. The beach is the best in our opinion, is wide, not a lagoon shallow calm waters type, it has waves, but it’s not steep, and there are few rocks in the water compared to what we saw while walking to the others. Turtle bay is 10 min walking down the beach, as well is top secret night spot. The food served is really good, especially the breakfasts. While on the upper side of pricing I think we made a really good choice. 10/10 would come again

Probably the nicest room I stayed in Sri Lanka! Sea salt is a very nice beach bar/restaurant with 2 rooms upstairs. Staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for me, food excellent and Pina Colada gets a solid 9.5! I'm still looking for my mythical 10!

Hikkaduwa gets the occasional power cut, which is annoying but not the accommodation's fault. They provided emergency lighting but might be worth leaving a torch in the rooms and maybe consider investing in a small back up generator

ROOMS DIRTY + NOT EQUIPPED, STAFF VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND THREATENING, VERY LOUD AT NIGHT *Dirty floor & used bottles from the guests before still there. *EQUIPMENT PROMISED NOT THERE OR NOT WORKING: WIFI, netflix, bathtub, cleaning products, coffee machine, ironing facilities, netflix, safe, electric kettle; fridge could only be used by carrying it out of the cupboard on our own. *FURNITURE HARDLY USABLE: the closet almost fell on me. The drawers of the night stands can not be pulled out properly. Curtains definitely need a makeover too. *NO SERVICE: We gave the "please clean up the room"-sign to the cleaning stuff to ask to clean up the room at 11am. When we came back at 5 pm, we found the sign in front of the door and the room was not cleaned. Later they said they did not have the key and that we would have had to give them the key. Why were we not informed? I booked this place for Valentine`s day for 2 nights to have a nice getaway with my partner and it turned out to be a NIGHTMARE. On the day of check-out, after all the discussions, I said I am not going to pay the full price of the stay since 50% of the promised equipment was missing. The waiter as well as the manager offered "free breakfast" to make up for it. Of course, I would not agree on that and I told them to call the police to help solve our situation. This is when I finally got to talk to the owner on the phone, who in the first place also did not want to believe me that they promise things on booking.com that are not there. She tried to explain the situation by telling me that they are also opening a place in Galle at the moment. I told her this is her problem and not mine since I am the one who lost 2 days of my holiday arguing with unprofessional staff. MAKE A PLACE WORK BEFORE OPENING ANOTHER PLACE! In addition, the restaurant and the beach area are messy and unorganized too.

Location with balcony on view to ocean. Very spacious and light apartment. Also TV is very modern and awesome. Breakfast from 10am, which you can pay through paypass.

Floor was not very clear. Missing daily cleaning on room.
