Very enjoyable & excellent location
Parking facilities. So busy impossible to find place to park so in long term car park

Anticipated difficulty in parking but permit made it easy.
Breakfast had to be ordered and portions were small. Bacon very fatty.
Requested quiet room and it couldn’t have been noisier. Couldn’t even sleep with headphones on. They are virtually rooms above a busy pub with lots of noise from outside.
Ate in restaurant. 6.30pm booking. Didn’t have starter as brownie was special on the board. Got to dessert and brownie was sold out. Still on specials board and no apology offered. All very over priced. Wouldn’t stay again.
At no point during breakfast or dinner did a member of Erving staff ask if the food was ok.
Bathroom facilities good.
Tea and coffee facilities good though double room and only one packet biscuits.
Free drinks in fridge excellent benefit.
Pub well positioned in centre of city. Parking easy considering no car park.

Room was really big and very quiet, even with the super central location. Nice touch to have tea/coffee and juice in the fridge. Restaurant was excellent, really good dinner and breakfast.
Decor in the room was really old fashioned and it didn't create the best first impression trying to check in through a busy bar. Also a bit misleading describing the property as having parking. You can get a permit but you need to find a space first on a narrow busy street. We couldn't find one so had to park nearby. At £17 it adds on a bit too the room price.

A very nice historical building in the city centre of Winchester.
Overall enjoyed our stay great location able to walk easily to all the interesting sites.
The room was of a very good standard and facilities very good
One minor criticism would be quite a lot of noise transferring into the room from the bar and also early morning from the sound of what appeared to be the movement of furniture downstairs.
As stated some noise experienced in the room from downstairs.

Perfect location, right opposite the cathedral. No traffic so very quiet once the bar downstairs closed at about 11pm. Very comfortable room, but a little chilly. Beautifull bed linen and towels, very comfy bed. Excellent breakfast.

Convenience for town centre and cathedral. Large double room with very comfortable bed and clean well equines en-suite
Bar and Restaurant areas are vey cold and draughty. Full breakfast excellent value but poached eggs on toast meagre (2 hard eggs on one small piece of granary bread) Bedroom was noisy in respect of all movement above the room and conversations in adjoining rooms can be heard

Absolutely nothing to dislike. The breakfast was extremely generous! The room was superb, the only thing I might mention is our room 'The Osborne & Little' was directly above the bar, so there was some noise transference - however it wasn't that bad and did not affect our stay.

The location is unmatched! Beautiful antique building with spacious room. Lovely complimentary selection of drinks and refreshments. Exceptional breakfast.

pillows were very hard I know its a personal preference but they were very hard!
I was disappointed with the staff not really very attentive, plates left on the table after coming to take orders etc. Left for a long time during breakfast and it wasnt busy on two tables in use. I feel you need someone with a bit more experience onsite as felt this let the pub down. They were very pleasant but not very efficient.

A great position, friendly staff and a comfortable room with nice complimentary drinks. The breakfast was very good, with an excellent choice.
We found the room cold but we did warm it up after hunting for the radiator. People are banging around early.

We especially liked being able to have our breakfast in our room meant we could make the most of our room and comfortable bed!

Great location to visit the Christmas market and shops.

The Old Vine has transformed itself into a small hotel and catering more to the dining and quiet drinking spot. The location is perfect with just a short walk to the main high street and a stone's throw to the historic cathedral and many other historical sights.
Check in was easy and the staff was very helpful and pleasant.
The room was pretty room as far as pub/hotel rooms go and large bathroom.

Excellent location close to the cathedral and centre. Beautiful rooms with good attention to detail including both coffee machine and kettle as well as a mini fridge with bottle of milk. Helpful staff. Excellent evening meal & breakfast.
Parking was a total nightmare. Hotel provides permits but there were no spaces. There is a car park close by however. For light sleepers on the first floor you can hear everything in the pub below, even setting up breakfast. The hotel thoughtfully supplies ear plugs as matter of course.

Our bedroom was very spacious, lovely traditional and characterful features - felt luxurious and great value compared to popular hotels with similar size bedrooms.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Amazing breakfast and we loved sitting in the restaurant overlooking the cathedral entrance and watching the world go by.
Due to the location of our bedroom directly above the pub, it was very noisy in the morning when staff were moving furniture and setting up for the day. Meant that I didn’t get the lie-in I was hoping for but was awake from 6/7am.
