We had a wonderful time relaxing for a couple days in the mountains. The property is perfect for getting away from everything and enjoy nature. (With all the conveniences of home). Very nice place. Will stay again later in the season.

This cabin was so spacious and comfortable. The hot tub, the view, the humungous bed, and the absolute silence surrounding this property. It felt like it was just us up there. Looking out back at the view and only hearing the wind made me feel a million miles away from my busy life. The roads leading to the cabin were winding and exciting, and even though we visited in the middle of winter, the views and being in nature was still spectacular. Our host was very quick to respond and very sweet, we had no issues whatsoever. Everything was perfect :) We were warned with the check-in instructions to probably arrive during the day and I would second that notion. If you arent familiar with driving on narrow switchbacks, definitely dont take this at night until youre familiar with the drive because it it can be real intimidating, and if you have an older car, youll need a bit of gas to start up the driveway. Nothing negative to say, this was a really really good pick for a random trip to the mountains.

Loved waking up to the view out of the master bedroom windows. Wish I could have stayed longer as there were lots of trails and amenities that I was not able to enjoy. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing view and remote location. We enjoyed hiking, horseback riding, and relaxing after a busy holiday season. It doesn’t get much better!

This was exactly what we were looking for - remote and away from a crowd. Still close enough to Blowing Rock for us to enjoy the downtown area and get in a beautiful hike.

The views from this property are breathtaking and you can take them all in while sitting out on the deck or (my personal favorite) taking a soak in the hot tub. The listing was accurate and Alyson was responsive. Would definitely love to come stay again!

We absolutely loved staying at this cabin. We loved the remoteness, but also with the sense of civilization with the gated community. The hiking trails were amazing for us and our little dog. Next time we will arrange for horseback riding. The cabin itself was clean, so cozy and comfortable with the gas fireplace, the view, the large bed in the pretty primary bedroom. The set up was great for us. We loved being at the end of the road on the private lot away from neighbors. We also drove into Boone and Blowing Rock a couple of times to sightsee. However, the best times were relaxing on the deck and couch enjoying the view of nature and feeling “away from it all”. A truly special place that we hope to return to many times again.

We were looking for a place to take a long weekend get away in the mountains and relax. This cabin did not disappoint. Secluded.. could not hear any noise other than nature. The hot tub was situated perfectly for sunsets. The views are incredible!! Everything was very clean and comfortable. The only downside was our stay was too short to explore the area a lot and honestly we didn’t want to leave the tranquility to do too much adventuring on this trip. We will definitely be returning for a longer visit!

We loved the cabin location/neighborhood and the views. The overall property is lovely and cozy. However, the bottom of the hot tub was dirty so we had to clean before using it. I see in previous reviews the owner saying they should have been told about it to be able to help out but, in my opinion, facilities should be clean and ready for use upon guest arrival, especially considering previous complaints. Also, it would have been nice to have some basic toiletries handy.

The view is amazing but I would take down the one tree in the way. Very nice cabin. The deck is amazing and soaking in the hot tub on the deck is very nice. The only bad thing I can say is the hot tub needs a lot of work or to be replaced. It has several things that didn’t work or were just broke. It also needs to be cleaned really good. It was kind of nasty. I would definitely go back but I’ll take supplies to clean the hot tub.

The house was the perfect little getaway! We enjoyed the fireplace and the master bed was so comfortable!

We had a great time exploring Blowing Rock and Grandfather Winery. Beautiful views from the deck, and everything we needed for our stay.

This was our second stay at Bear Cub Cabin and it did not disappoint. Our toddler loves the bear theme, especially the addition of a bear footstool. Gorgeous views, and the house is just the right size. The driveway has improved since our last visit and was easier to navigate. The trail maps in the cabin aren't super accurate but I didn't get lost in the wilderness so I can't complain! We wish we could've stayed longer!

Great location and we enjoyed our stay, however a lot of little things add up to make the property not up to the standard of our Vrbo vacations. Lights not working, plumbing problems. Most notable the upstairs bathtub does not drain when taking a shower. The deck needs work. Should not take much to bring this beautiful place back to it’s original condition.

Our cabin was nestled in the woods on a high ridge in the Leatherwood Mountains. The view was breathtaking, the accommodations were perfect, and the trip was restful and therapeutic. My wife and I would highly recommend Bear Cub cabin, where it’s just nature and you.

We loved the cabin and the location was perfect!! Hiking trails walking distance from the house, amazing views, and horses ;) Very comfortable accommodations with everything we needed and more. We look forward to staying again soon!

Condition of property was below our expectations. We own a vacation rental and we have stayed at quite a few vacation rentals including other cabins. Our unit and the others we have stayed at are in much better condition than what we experienced with this unit. The location of the cabin was not very convenient to other attractions in the area as well.

This cabin was a great getaway. Clean, inviting, with many hiking trails just outside the front door. Beautiful views. Horseback riding was fun too!

It was the best little getaway for our family of 4. The resort at the bottom had great food for our first night but the house had everything we needed! We had a blast and hope to be back!

The cabin was a perfect getaway. Nice and tucked away, beautiful view, and great amenities. The house was comfortable and very clean. In addition to the beautiful surrounding nature, the home has surprisingly fast internet & TV. No complaints at all, highly recommend.

My family absolutely loved the trip (me, my husband, and our 3 month old). It was very easy to follow directions to navigate to the cabin and our Honda Civic navigated the tricky slope at the entrance without any problems. Everything was exactly as beautiful and as cozy as expected. The hot tub is huge and overlooks the most spectacular views. It feels like you’re alone in the middle of nature. At night, you can see the night sky and all the stars without any light pollution. The kitchen is among the best equipped we’ve ever seen. The hiking trails are lovely. Would definitely return!
