Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Very well furnished and equipped. Newly renovated. Host was welcoming, friendly and informative. Would definitely stay here again.

It was very noisy unfortunately and not dark enough as the second small window had no blinds so this is why 9 and not 10 points. Also we are not big fans of having the sink in the room but that’s a minor personal issue

A perfect place to stop over while traveling through Tassie. Our host was great and paid attention to detail. We arrived late due to our plane, but a note was left for us, SMS was sent, phone calls were made - they really went out of their way to accommodate us. We are grateful.

The reviews of this motel ring true- the manager, Atilla, and the staff are so friendly and helpful!! If you're after a quiet place to stay (although it is very close to the centre of St Helen's), with good accessibilty to the rooms (our bathroom also had a walk-in shower) and spotlessly clean rooms, I fully recommend a stay here!! The bed was super comfy and once in the room, you can barely hear any noise from the rooms nearby or street noise, which my husband and I appreciated after a big day touring along the coast from Hobart.. we slept so well every night of our 3 night stay. We stayed in a double motel room and made use of the guest kitchen a couple of times- there wasn't an area to wash up in our room- and that worked fine. There is also a guest laundry which would be handy if you were staying for a while. We were really happy with our stay at Anchor Wheel Motel and would love to stay again sometime!

Due to a bit of a mix-up we couldn't access our room when we first arrived. The manager, Atilla, had been in touch the day before to say he wouldn't be at the motel the day we arrived and to tell us our room would be unlocked for us when we got there, and gave us clear directions as to which room was ours, but it was locked. The issue was sorted out quickly though and we didn't need to wait too long until a staff member arrived with a key. We were given some free drinks due to the issue, which was a nice gesture. Apart from that, it was fabulous!

The room was spacious as per your traditional country Australian motel. The parking area in front of the room was also very spacious. The room had recently been refurbished and was very clean. There is a microwave, mini-fridge, toaster and a great range of complimentary teas. Another nice touch was the provision of coffee bags, instead of your usual instant coffee. It's about a kilometre or so to the centre of St Helens, but I enjoyed the walk there and back. The owner/manager was most helpful and courteous and cares about the service he provides.
