A very relaxed pousada run by a friendly and very welcoming family (with the help of Google translate!). They took 3 big bags of laundry from us and they were returned within 24 hours. They suggested a taxi driver, Giovani, who had excellent English and who took us to both the Brazilian and Argentine side of Iguaçu Falls - he gave us great tips which helped with getting the most out of our days. Local restaurants are about 20 minutes walk down the hill towards the town centre along Avenue das Cataratas - we can highly recommend Pátio Pomare for excellent Italian food.

Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. I am from the US but live in Brazil with my husband, and my mother was visiting for her birthday so I planned a trip to Foz, months in advance, reserving the best room with a balcony and bathtub to celebrate. When I reserved the room, I said it was for her birthday and Adriana said she would do something special like arrange a cake. I was pleasantly surprised at the hospitality. However, after attempting to confirm the reservation and arrange a surprise for my mom a month before, my messages were unanswered. Less than a week before, Adriana messaged me and said that there was a “problem” with the room and we would be moved to another room. I expressed my disappointment because I had specifically booked the room because of the balcony and bathtub and the new room had neither, but I figured there was a technical problem like broken AC and nothing could be done. Adriana offered to give us complimentary caipirinhas when we arrived. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and there were people staying in the room we had booked. There was no apology or acknowledgement of the mistake and how we were affected. I understand mix ups happen but it felt disrespectful to be lied to with no apology. Not only that, the first room we booked was more expensive and when I asked for a discount at check out because of the trouble, Adriana gave a small discount without saying anything about the error. And we never got those caipirinhas, or any birthday surprise for my mom. I was very surprised at this given the amount of positive reviews. Apart from that, the room we were moved to was on the ground floor, right next to breakfast which was served early and very noisy starting at 6am, making it impossible to sleep. The room had a window to the pool so we had to close the shades for privacy at all times, making the room very dark.

The owner Adriana is so sweet and attentive. She is always cheerful, even at 6 in the morning while making breakfast. the bed was very comfortable as well. she has wine and beer available for purchase on the honor system which was nice. There are a few good restaurants within walking distance and several that are a short uber away.

water pressure could have been better. I had an outdoor balcony but the door did not latch securely. It was on the second floor so not really a big deal. I felt safe.

I had an amazing time staying at this small family hotel! Everything was clean and tidy with a great design, and all the amenities were available for me to use. The highlight of my stay was definitely the incredible caipirinha they served - it was truly exceptional. However, what made my stay truly unforgettable was the hospitality of the owner who went above and beyond to make sure that I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful and relaxing getaway. Thank you so much for the fantastic experience!

The host was awesome. She welcomed us very well and was always helpful. We felt like we stayed at our aunt's house 😄 One of the best hosts we have ever met!

Adriane, the hostess, was warm and welcoming. The property is well appointed, and the bed is incredibly comfortable after long days visiting the falls. Adriane helped organize currency exchange and well as transport across to visit the Argentinian side. I would highly encourage anyone looking for a short (or long) stay to book a room at Pousada Rio das Aguas.

Exceptional in every regard, from the warm and friendly welcome to being super helpful with all my questions around visiting the falls. My room was beautiful and comfortable, and there's an amazing positive energy around the place. Would always stay again!

This is more a B&B than full scale hotel, but it's comfortable and the room I had was spacious with a well maintained bathroom. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was good. The pool is small, but is warm and has nice surroundings and furniture. The honesty bar is a bonus! There is a variety of eating places within walking distance

Nothing to really dislike, although the lack of A/C in the public areas is important to know about in summer. I found the shower difficult to work out how to get hot water, as the controls are not obvious.

The owner is super nice and helpful. The location is great, close to the waterfalls and other attractions, in a safe neighborhood. There's a nice pool, and you can order really good and large caipirinhas there!

Spacious, clean, comfortable room with access to nice pool and a good breakfast included. The real highlight though was the welcome and hospitality of our hosts. Very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a good one, from facilitating an early check in to helping arrange a taxi over the border.

Great experience. Everything super clean and cozy, staff super friendly and caring. There are many restaurants 5 min walk away so the location is good. Tasty home made breakfast. Great swimming pool area. They have some friendly parrots who love playing and they made amazing caipirinhas too

if you are ever in Foz do Iguacu and you would like a very friendly posada, you should consider Posada Rio das Aguas! We enjoyed staying at this inn very much! Our host Adriana treated us like family! Great breakfast every morning! Very comfortable bed! Pristine Swimming pool! And tons of good recommendations! If we ever go back to Foz, we will definitely stay at posada Rio again!

Excellent stay over Christmas, they were so very helpful to a couple of travellers new in the country with little Portuguese! Very friendly and full of advice and assistance. The room and bathroom were huge (we had the Presidential suite) and the balcony with hammock an added bonus. The party on Christmas Eve an added bonus!

Our hosts were helpful and accommodating, easy to communicate with. We had a lovely time. Because my husband has eating restrictions being able to use a kitchen made all the difference to us and the owner even land us some tupperware to take packed lunches on our outings. There was a bakery and a corner shop within an easy walking. Breakfast with eggs made by the owner and fresh bread from the bakery every morning was delicious. The room was cleaned every day. The owner was very knowledgeable and helped plan our outings. We had a lovely time.

The plumbing on our bathroom need to be updated but we were still very comfortable and it didn’t detract from our stay.

We enjoyed very much staying at the pousada. The rooms where very nice and everyone was very kind and helpfull. You really felt welcome and in good suroundings. My mother was allowed as well to stay and sleep in our room even after we had checked out which she really apreciated. Would deffinetely recomend this place!!

Breakfast was not up to the mark else good

It was a really great place to stay with beautiful rooms and great breakfast. My wife and I felt very welcome in the house and during our stay, she helped us getting in contact with a english speaking taxi driver. We will definitely recommend this lovely Pousada.
