We really enjoyed our stay at Stone Edge, a country stay close to beautiful Castlemaine. The hosts were very friendly and informative. The beautifully presented cottage had all the modern amenities because it had been renovated, but it still had the feel of a cottage from the 1800s. We particularly loved the shower and spa, and fireplace with wood provided. Best of all, were the generous provisions left for breakfast, with a full-size fridge and very well equiped kitchen. We also really enjoyed seeing the kangaroos in the morning. We would love to return sometime.

We were made to feel very welcome by Jackie and David at this comfortable stone cottage on the outskirts of the town centre. It was clean and comfortable with a plentiful supply of breakfast provisions and good quality firewood. We enjoyed the open fire in the evenings which added to the lovely ambience. We also enjoyed the peaceful garden setting, visited by blue wrens and silver eyes.

Jackie & David are fantastic hosts. We originally planned our stay in 2020, but due to circumstances beyond our control (COVID19 lockdowns), and 3 reschedules, we have just had a wonderful week at Stone Cottages. Thank you to Jackie & David for being so understanding. North Cottage is beautifully presented & has everything needed for a relaxing getaway, especially the generous sized spa. Plenty of breakfast supplies, fresh fruit & veg, with a well appointed kitchen. Lovely quiet surroundings just a few minutes into town for supplies. A gorgeous fireplace with plenty of wood on hand for cozy evenings. The bed is super comfy for a great nights sleep, or an afternoon nap. We will definitely be back for more.

This property is perfect for a getaway. Decorated in a delightful way and set up for pure relaxation. Quite in the countryside but a short drive or bike ride to Castlemaine. Hosts are very nice.

Thank you David and Jackie for being excellent hosts. We had a fabulous getaway, and it was all we hoped for. Lovely open fire, cosy and gorgeous decor, amazing spa bath for two! The little touches from world music, to a wonderful selection of breakfast goodies, was really appreciated!

We had an amazing weekend. We loved the place, the brilliant design and decor of the cottage. The property was well above our expectations and worth every cent of the price for the stay. Highly recommended.

The owners have thought of everything. Great breakfast supplies and bathroom accessories, Nice heated towel rail, rain shower and plenty of hot water. 'North' cottage had a nice patio area and good access to the gardens. just outside of Castlemaine but quick access to Botanic gardens and town centre. Hosts Jackie and David were very welcoming. Would recommend

The cottage is located 12 min walk from Botanic Gardens and 20 min from town which is the perfect situation. The cottage could not provide you more with an open fire, solid stone walls, a modern kitchen, a huge lux bathroom and a generous bedroom with the most comfortable bed. Jacki and David bent over backwards to ensure our stay was perfect with an overly generous welcome pack. including cheeses, eggs bacon, milk, fresh bread and a great selection of coffee pods. Could not fault nor ask for more this cottage.

Perfect weekend away we loved it so much we barely left the cottage! Attention to detail was exceptional, yummy goodies on arrival was very unexpected, beautifully decorated, loved the open fire and Deep spa. Jackie and Dave were the perfect hosts. We’ll be back Michelle and Matt

A breath-taking cottage set in a tranquil landscape that will quickly become a home away from home. My husband and I stayed for a week at this stunning property and enjoyed every minute. The cottage was equipt with everything you could want or need and the delightful Jackie and David ensured we never wanted for anything. Will recommend this property to anyone who will listen.

The cottage was tucked away in a semi-rural location yet only 5 minutes drive from Castlemaine. Full of charm with all the amenities you could wish for. Ample food provisions for breakfast and snacks. It was just so relaxing staring at the open wood fire in the evening.

Very well appointed, very generous supply of groceries and fruit. Much thought gone into ensuring our comfort. Strongly recommended.

Beautiful 4 night stay in North cottage, tranquil location lovely garden with lavender and fruit trees, waking up hearing kookaburras & seeing kangaroos and rabbits. Well appointed cottage complete with large spa tub and open fire (which we used twice) and outdoor terrace. Short walk into town via the botanical gardens. David & Jackie were great hosts with good suggestions for local attractions & supplied a very generous breakfast hamper, loved our time here & will definitely return

Secluded area, great for a few days to get away from it all, but still be a stone’s throw from Castlemaine. Great environment with private garden that is a fabulous place for relaxing. The cottage is stylish, impressively decorated, fabulous furnishings, comfy bed, beautiful decorator pieces, plenty of room for two, and is very well appointed. As good as the pictures show. Ceiling fans kept the rooms cool (no air con). Not for you if you want strong web access (no WiFi, and private data connection struggled). Overall, you are well looked after with food and toiletries provided. Extremely welcoming hosts who were so easy to get along with, and very informative.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stone Edge North Cottage! The hosts were warm and helpful, but also allowed us our privacy. We felt a world away and so relaxed. The cottage is beautifully decorated and wonderfully comfortable, and the extra details such as a chill-out playlist on the iPod -playing as we arrived- the luxury toiletries, large array of yummy fresh food, and the complimentary bikes, all gave the property that ‘X’ factor. We will definitely stay again!

My husband and I stayed here for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and we were not disappointed. It is a beautiful cottage and we loved the big spa bath. There was plenty of breakfast supplies, close to the main town of Castlemaine and we would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Lovely stone cottage with a equally lovely interior. Open fire in the corner of the lounge with a good supply of wood. Heaters were turned on for us and music playing on arrival. Great breakfast and cheese platter provided. Set on the outskirts of Castlemaine in a very quiet location. Bikes provided if you so desired a ride. Hosts Jackie and David were very nice.

What a place to stay. The attention to detail and the finishes of the North Cottage were absolutely divine. Would highly recommend stay here for a little getaway in Castlemaine. Please do yourself a favor and book at Stone Edge.. we will back back for sure!

A wonderful relaxing weekend. Jackie and David were both extremely helpful and friendly. They gave us some suggestions for eating and the Bridge Hotel was excellent. Thank you. We also took advantage of the bikes on offer which we spent riding into town and visiting some of the local attractions. Overall the property was amazing and we could not of asked for anything more. What a lovely cottage! Well equipped, spacious, nicely decorated and has a fantastic bathroom. The gardens are lovely and the location is peaceful. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. A great place to stay.

A truely peaceful cottage to escape for a weekend. Just out of town but an easy walk or short drive to everything. Hosts absolutely lovely and provided everything you could need.
