we were all blown away with this property! absolutely spectacular. we have been renting homes for over 25 years & this has got to be the nicest one yet. the view is outstanding. all the nooks & crannies around the home are really neat. decor is just astonishing. Kitchen supplies filled with plenty of odds & ends you might need. didn't use the freshly filled hot tub, but i bet its amazing. can't wait to rent it again

We had a wonderful stay! So close to the ski resort!

All 6 of us were amazed by a stunning home, location and incredibly responsive host and Mike, the home caretaker. Home and location is even better than pictures. Everything and more was available: tons of cookware, boot/glove dryers, abundance of towels. Super clean and decorative! Sweet personal touches like most adorable recipe box. I especially enjoyed the Christmas decorations. Driveway kept well shoveled even after 15" snow. Hot tub was super clean. View of stars, lake and trees amazing. And even got a very sweet and unexpected birthday bouquet and two very shiny Indian head nickels for the twins birthday!!! Thank-you for fabulous memory for twin's 21st birthday❣️❣️

Great house for a family! We visit Purg every year for several weeks with our teenage boys. Well stocked house in a perfect location to head to the mountain, hiking, the Nugget, The Lift, sledding, etc… Michael the property manager was so helpful and responsive throughout our trip.

We love this property so much we keep coming back. It has become part of our family’s Christmas tradition and has definitely helped our little military family unwind and bond in between our kid’s deployments. The owners and caretaker always go over and beyond for us. They have truly been blessings in our lives. We are already missing being there and have started to plan our next trip. By far best VRBO we have ever stayed at. I can’t say enough about this cabin on private lake. You literally can come with clothes on your back. House is fully stocked with all your needs. Jo, Marcia and Mike are so helpful and gracious. They truly make your stay their priority and make sure vacation is perfect. Mike asked about my 17hr drive and missed Thanksgiving so he fried and turkey and delivered to us. Who does that? Restaurants and markets near by. Ski resort is across street and bars. Fish private lake and in summer venture out into mountain for some hiking and stream fishing. Won’t find a better view nestled between Durango and Silverton. Can’t wait to book again. We had a fantastic time at this beautiful Cabin. The view was incredible, and the leaves were stunning. We spent hours fishing the lake, pulling out a number of big rainbows, and Brookies. Enjoyed cooking in the full-size kitchen, and enjoying time in the hot tub, looking at the stars. The owner was incredibly, responsive, and attentive to our our every need. We had a great time, and would love to go back someday.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Joe, Marcia & Mike. Exceptional communication & a beautiful space, combined with the most attentive & kind caretaker. We love this spot so much we have made it an annual tradition. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to stay here!

This cabin was the best I've ever stayed at. It was almost perfect with wonderful views everywhere you look. The owners and manager were in contact with me frequently making sure I had a great experience and I did with my brothers and their spouses. It was in the top 5 of vacations in my life. The fishing was a nice addition though it wasn't fast catching the fish we caught were quality fish that fought hard and were very healthy looking (heavy and long). The activities in the area are many and varied. We particularly enjoyed the train from Durango to Silverton, but we mostly enjoyed spending time with each other in a fabulous and comfortable facility. My brothers and I spent several hours out on the lake in the rowboat and greatly appreciate them being included along with the required safety vests and equipment. The fireplace was an experience in itself. We didn't need it much because of mild weather, but when we used it the ambiance was nice and the cabin was warm. I can't say enough about the great communication - from 3 days before to the last day, the owners and manager kept in touch with me. I highly recommend this property to anyone. It's in a naturally beautiful area and is comfortable and well furnished. Thank you for a wonderful week.

They offered tips along the way to be sure our stay and activities were the best possible. Mike met us when we arrived with a gracious welcome, Joe and Marcia contacted us mid-stay to be sure we had all that we needed. We really couldn't be more pleased with our much needed vacation! We had such an amazing time at this beautiful home and property. As many have stated, the views from all the windows are stunning. My family and I have stayed at many VRBO houses throughout the years and none have been as fully supplied with every accommodation possible as this one. Joe,Marcia and Michael are very thorough and great people to work with. We would definitely come back here again.

I would give a six star review if possible!! Everything was perfect - the check in, the communication, the location, the lake(!) . . . I could go on and on. The best part was my daughter catching her first ever fish -- a 12"+ beauty of a rainbow troug. Simply put, it was my family's best experience renting on VRBO by far and we are hoping to make it our yearly summer go-to spot. Stay with Marcia - you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful home in a beautiful setting!

Well-maintained. A lot of amenities to make it fun. The lake was our favorite feature of this house. The fishing was great. We loved boating in the evenings and star gazing before moon rise. The kitchen overlooks the lake. It’s a beautiful view, including hummingbirds at the deck feeder and beavers swimming in the lake. We loved eating grilled food in the evenings and relaxing in the hot tub after a day of mountain biking or hiking the nearby trails. Super location and very attentive owner. Communication was great. Highly recommend it.

This cabin is situated on a beautiful lake. It has an extremely well equipped kitchen. The owners and caretaker were quick to respond to any questions. The trout fishing was excellent. Our family was grateful to gather at such a lovely place!

The setting is spectacular, the home is warm and welcoming. We enjoyed watching the beavers, geese, and territorial hummingbirds. We even had a visit from a blue heron. The lakeside setting is peaceful, quiet and the stars on a clear night are unbelievable. The hosts and caretaker were attentive and dedicated to making our experience hassle free and memorable. As a family of 4, (2 boys ages 14 and 11) it can be difficult to find places where everyone feels comfortable and has a great time. This cabin was the perfect spring break location for us! We had so much fun taking a snowmobile tour and snowboarding at Purgatory as well as sledding on the nearby hills. The location is ideal and the scenery was a winter wonderland. The property had everything we could wish for and the check in process was easy. The property manager was extremely helpful and very friendly. Our family looks forward to returning and visiting the cabin during the summer months. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

Loved everything about this house! Property manager and owner are wonderful to work with! The home is very clean and lots of space for our group of 6. (4 teen boys and 2 adults). We cooked breakfast and dinner everyday. The kitchen is huge and was stocked with everything we needed! Location is perfect for skiing at Purg Resort. Hot tub was hot on arrival, clean and lots of towels. Gorgeous views! We hope to be back soon!

I cant say enough great things about the property, the owner as well as the property manager. They took care of everything we needed, worked with us on some bad weather issues impacting travel. The manager was johnny on the spot for every possible question I had and was a God-send to help us. The Fireplace was totally AMAZING!!! and Really added to our experience. The weather was beast and we basically got snowed in, too cold to take a 5 year old on a ski lesson so we just spent time together relaxing. Best trip in memory, will certainly be going back for future trips. The view was amazing.

Second time staying here. Very convenient getting to the Purgatory Resort, but still feels secluded and quiet.

Great location, at the drop off for purgatory in a few minutes. No major hills or inclines to get to and from the property after turning off main road

First and foremost, Michael, the host, was very accommodating. He contacted us before our arrival to ensure our safe travels through the Colorado winter weather. Second, the property provided our group comforts not easily rivaled by other vacation rentals: a cozy fireplace, heated floors, comfortable bedding, and plenty of towels for the hot tub. All in all, a five star experience! Thanks Michael!

We had a wonderful time. The house was perfect, we definitely want to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake.

Can't say enough about this place. Mike the caretaker made sure that we had everything we needed. Just 1/2 mile to Purgatory, and the Nugget Bar was a super fun place to hang out. I would highly recommend this place to my friends and hope to return for another wonderful trip. Thanks again!

The property is amazing, beautiful and relaxing.

This was a beautiful house right on the lake. My children loved watching the beavers on the lake and relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. I was amazed by how homey it was and how much my family and I felt at home in this house. We will most defiantly be visiting this house again in the future. The house was fully furnished the only thing we had to bring was the food. Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful house.

This cabin is situated right on the lake and the views from the kitchen will make you want to stay in there and cook. Breathtaking! A caretaker will contact you for entry instructions. Make sure you get the entry codes prior to arrival! He is a nice sounding guy and makes good phone contact but never provided us the information and we were left locked out and tired after a 13hr drive. He did finally respond and we gained access. The owner was apologetic and offered credit. The house is extremely clean and well kept. It is a bit dated but to be expected based on the age. The television situation is very dated with an old tv and not very clear picture but looking outside makes you not really care. The coffee pots are basic and slow but do function. One last note. If you plan on using the hot tub make sure you contact the caretaker several days in advance so it has time to heat to temperature. We couldn’t use it the first night. The location of the cabin is amazing and the area is quiet. The ski resort is just down the road. We were here on business but it would be a great cabin for families and vacationing. King beds would be nice in the bedrooms but the current queens are comfy. Overall this is a great cabin and we loved the stay!

Property was amazing!! Everything we needed was there, do not bring anything other than food. Kitchen completely furnished with anything you needed. Our host was prompt at answering any questions we had. Cannot wait to go back next year and would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in this area. Thanks for a great vacation!!
