The home was awesome and had so much room that made it great for our family to all get together in one place.

Our families had a blast at the best house in Marfa. We had everything we needed in this mid century modern home. Not everything has been updated but we loved the time warp and didn’t need a thing. The art on the walls was a treat as well. Beautiful back patio, comfy beds, plenty of towels, very clean and within an hour of the McDonald observatory and most other points of interest like state parks, funky Alpine and Fort Davis. Definitely stay here!

House was spacious and well stocked. We liked the location and found some neat hang out spots nearby. Our only regret was not spending more time enjoying all the house had to offer because we were busy sightseeing at Big Bend, McDonald Observatory, and Ft. Davis. Internet worked well, beds were comfortable, and I love that it had plenty of towels!

The Stover House holds a special place for me. Growing up, Dr. Stover was my doctor and while he didn’t practice medics from home, his house was just across the street from my grandparents’ house. I was so happy to see painting of the courthouse and local scenes painted by his wife still in their home - truly made the stay very personal and interesting. The house is fantastic for larger groups with a floor plan that made it easy for early risers to make coffee without disturbing anyone’s sleep. The patio in back was a favorite with humans and canines alike and high cinderblock walls and iron gates kept town critters like javelinas and skunks out while keeping our loved ones in! Nicely landscaped with plenty of grass and a grape orchard, too. The house is warm and inviting and amenities complete and we made use of the gas fireplace in the back den on the coldest nights.
We didn’t use the garage but nice to have the option.
Overall, a lovely home - thanks so much!

This was a good place for us to stay. There was 5 of us riding motorcycles. The residential streets getting to the house was partial pavement and gravel with potholes, so it was tricky navigating around the rough stuff but we made it! It is in a quiet neighborhood and close to the main road with the restaurants and bars. Having a garage to park our bikes in overnight was important. That was a big +. Everything was good in the house including everything we needed for cooking. Next time we come that way, we will stay here again!

Great space
We enjoyed having all that space to accommodate our group. Everyone had their own space. Our ages were from 25 to 86 - grandmother daughters and granddaughters

Great trip
Mid-Century Modern is a great description. A sprawling house with plenty of room so you are not on top of each other. Many original features such as the tile and cork floors in the kitchen. Loved the art throughout the house!! Back garden has great bones. Would book again.

Wonderful house and great location
The Stover house is a well maintained vintage home in a quite neighborhood in Marfa. We were two families, with five kids total, and the layout of the house was perfect for allowing all of us to spread out when needed, yet still gather together for puzzles and board games. Both the front living room and the den in the rear were great for hanging out, and the back yard is very large and fully fenced - perfect for our golden retriever. Quiet neighborhood, and the location is a great! We would definitely stay here again.

House was wonderful for a multi generational family gathering. Lots of comfortable seating and bedding. Wonderful property. Allowed us to visit comfortably. We drove to McDonald Observatory for the day and were able to experience the Marfa lights

Lots of room , Easy location, quiet neighborhood
This was a large retro house, it would be great for large families. Easy location in a quiet neighborhood. Marfa is very easy to get around.
The house is exactly as presented in the pictures.

Weekend get-a-way
Spent the weekend with some friends. Greta house and plenty of room. Wouldn’t say it was walking distance because of the limited or no street lights but very quick drive to anything we wanted to do. Would book it again.

Fun
Getting the trash out and in the dumpster about a block away was a bit intimidating. Also the trains were quite disruptive at 1 - 4 am for sleep time.

Relaxing stay at a wonderful home. .
The house was spotless. The bedrooms were pleasant and the beds were comfortable. This is not the first time we have stayed here and we definitely will come back. Everything was within walking distance and cooking and barbecuing on site was fun.

Overall a great fun family experience. Nostalgic location as Dr. Stover was my doctor growing up
Everything was good. We were there in 100+ degree weather and house AC not cooling off adequately especially in the big room in the back. Also patio not as nicely kept as per pictures. But we liked the space it was great for our group amd we had a great time. Would do it again and will recommend.

A Gem of a House!
This house has a great layout, a great backyard and is in a wonderful location! Comfortable beds with amazing linens. The large den is a great place to hang out. We loved the vibe of this house and will definitely come back!

A very nice property.
We and another couple stayed here for 4 nights during our vacation trip. It is a very clean property with an abundance of room and common areas for visiting, included the nice outdoor area. It has everything you would need for a great stay. The location is not far from downtown and is a very quite neighborhood that was very enjoyable.

Big Bend Adventure
We enjoyed our stay of 6 nights in the property. Another couple joined us. Home is older mid century property. Home had plenty of space for enjoyment. Appliances in kitchen were adequate however a bit dated. Cooked several meals while there and found everything needed there and functional. Game room complete with bar and entertainment was where much of our time was spent. Overall the home was clean & comfortable and met our needs for lodging. The purpose of our travel was to see Big Bend National and State Park. We spent most days traveling to and from Big Bend National Park & State Park. Travel time by car was about 2 hours to these parks. Other locations nearer the home included the Marfa Lights, Alpine & Fort Davis. The home had several maps of the area that showed day trips which was useful. The home would be recommended for family/friend gatherings of 4-12 in our opinion.

Nice property, lovely yard, pet friendly, very helpful management company!
We had a lovely 4 day holiday for Easter with our family. We were able to relax, cook together, grill outside, walk about town, and felt comfortable with the accommodations. We hope to come back and make this an annual event at the Stover house. Recommend highly, no complaints.

The Stover house is a very cute, well-preserved blast from the past. It was an awesome place to stay, in a cute neighborhood. Tons of space for us, indoors and out. The three of us were also working from home and the wi-fi was superb. Hosts are very responsive and helpful.

Perfect Marfa getaway
Start to finish we had a great experience here. The neighborhood was lovely and the house was just perfect for our family. Plenty of space to be together, but all sorts of spots to grab a quiet moment to yourself. We spent loads of time in the beautiful back yard and our puppy loved the contained space to play. The property manager was so responsive and helpful for the few questions we had and made sure we were set ahead of time for any extra Thanksgiving needs since we were there over the holiday. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great for large families!
We had a wonderful time at this great property! The house is large, with four bedrooms plus a den with a Murphy Bed and bath that could easily be made private enough to serve as a fifth bedroom. The large yard is great for dogs and perfect for grilling or sitting around the fire pit.
This was a great location for day trips to multiple state parks and visits to Alpine and Marathon. The property manager was accessible and responded to all questions quickly. Thank you for a great stay!

Over the moon with this property! So grateful to have found it. Stayed 5 days with 7 friends.. plenty of room for everyone to have their own space spread across the house. The backyard seemed to be the biggest hit for dinners and the fire pit. 10/10 can’t wait to book this house again
