Three units in one building. A large family was in the unit above and beside me with children and adults walking/running/yelling back and forth along with running above my unit over the balcony. The A/C unit in the bedroom was very loud and not cooling the unit because the heater was putting out heat.We opened windows but the family was running/yelling back and forth leaving us with zero privacy. We closed all the windows/blinds to have privacy but made that room extremely claustrophobic. I kindly contacted property manager to work something out and no response. I tried calling,texting,emailing for hours and received zero communication. We decided to leave since no contact made me extremely uneasy. The next day we tried to reach out multiple times with no answer, then lunch time they sent a message that they reached out to owners and my refund was denied since “you didn’t try communicating with us”. I contacted vrbo and they said they couldn’t do anything but would send an email to the owner, the owner never contacted me. I never once heard from a person, the only contact was brief through email saying they didn’t hear from me. It’s unfortunate that this rental took advantage of me and made this about payment instead of the well being of their renters. Please Don’t take a chance with this rental, they will say “you never tried communicating with us” like these other reviews listed. I should have followed other reviews but took a chance, and they kept my whole payment.

Overall, this place was okay. Location was definitely a plus - easy, very short walk to the beach near lifeguard station 12. Kitchen area was well stocked with dishes, etc, but the salt and sugar available were caked and unusable. There were 5 or 6 coffee pods available, but no tea bags - not a huge deal but something we noted. We did appreciate the filtered water and ice cubes! Living room was just okay - couch is lumpy-ish and uncomfortable to sit on, and noisy and lumpy to sleep on. The available side chair was also uncomfortable (and kind of ugly, to be honest)....an update on furnishings would go a long way. TV was frustrating, as cable and/or wifi kept going out, and the remote did not always work well. We replaced batteries, but I think the remote may need to be replaced. Bedroom area was fine - bed is too big for the room, so it was not easy to get around in there. Bed was okay, but not great. Mattress could use an upgrade. Bathroom was okay but needs a real deep clean. There was mold/mildew around the window that did not look like it had been touched or wiped down for quite some time. It also looked like there was pink mold developing in an area behind the door near the floor - another indication that a deep clean is needed. Outdoor area was really disappointing. The table and chairs were very rickety and rusty and unusable. The fire pit was fun and easy to use, but the area around it, as well as the chairs were very sandy, dirty and dusty - not cleaned each time?

The location is excellent tho 6 blocks from nearest bus stop. I did not rent a car. Enjoyed being close to the beach. The property is dated but comfortable except, mattress in bedroom should be turned because clearly hundreds of people have slept in the same side. However, the property was filthy! Floor is dirty, trash can was gross under the bag, Kuerig had coffee sitting in the drain area and drain area was filthy, no dishwasher and only 2 burner stove top, all dishes & flatware was grimy/ greasy, and who knows when the floor was last mopped! It's cleaner now than when I arrived and I should at least be refunded the cleaning fee.
