The hotel was beautiful. The pool area was well designed and there was an excellent indoor area and Hamman pool which was appealing as it was cooler in October. The room was lovely, large and had lots of available storage space. Staff were friendly and there was a range of places to eat and some beautiful cakes in the patisserie.
We would advise against taking the half board option. It was confusing and most staff seemed unaware what was part of the half board package so that we received incorrect bills. In addition it made very little sense as we were told we could have a starter, main and dessert but it wasn’t always clear what was a starter or a main. This sometimes led to a lot of confusion and let us feeling that we had been better off not having this option. Although the food was nice, a lot of it was overpriced - particularly at the pool bar. Only two of the evening restaurants were open too and the menus were the same each night. Given the hotel is quite in an isolated area, it would be better to switch menus regularly as if you were staying for a week you would become bored of the food on offer.

Il est surprenant, dans un 5* que les concierges ne s’occupent pas de parquer la voiture, d’autant plus que le parking est tout proche. A l’accueil, nous avons été fortement sollicités pour upgrader notre suite. Mon niveau d’anglais étant faible, j’ai accepté, mais à contre-cœur, sous pression. C’est la première fois qu’on me propose, sans que j’aie rien demandé, un upgrade, en me le faisant payer.
Les meubles de la partie salon de notre suite faisaient davantage penser à un mobilier de jardin.

Everything was absolutely beautiful. The staff was amazing. The cleaners were really good , but the best of all is coming down those beautiful stairs for breakfast and seeing a lovely young ladies standing there waiting to welcome you with a massive big smile. I believe her name is Kate.
Breakfast every morning there are flies everywhere! you need to get the food area inclosed with sliding doors where the flies cannot get in. Or something else .
flies carry so many germs,viruses, and bacteria ! That was my only concern.

I liked everything except for the bed. The breakfast, the restaurant choices, the indoor and outdoor pools, the peaceful atmosphere, the staff, the outdoor playarea. Basically you don't need to go out.

Overall we had a pleasant stay, the ambience and facilities of the hotel are exceptional. The breakfast was delicious and you'll be spoiled for choice. The hotel has one of the most beautiful and elegant pools I have ever seen. Staff was very polite and professional, our only disappointment was due to our unfortunate incident, as described below.
Before having our last breakfast at the hotel, we decided to go down by the pool to check for available gazebos and in fact, as confirmed by the pool attendant there, we did find an available one and reserved it by putting our towels, as per hotel policy. Whilst having our breakfast we coincidentally saw a guest throwing our towels and personal belongings onto deck chairs and putting her own towels on our gazebo. When confronted she claimed she “had been there since 6am” and that it was hers. I escalated this to management to resolve the issue. The hotel staff seemingly sided with her and offered us a gazebo which was only available from 10:30am (it was 7:30am and our last day) and only after my insistence did they give it to us before. Yes we got our gazebo however what disappointed me was (1) we only got it as we were lucky they had another available one and 2. They just believed the other guest when in actual fact we did nothing wrong and even had the pool attendant as our witness that we reserved a free gazebo. So take what you want from this re: (1) management’s reaction and (2) quality of guests at this “5-star” hotel.

Breakfast was very good, especially as they provide a small a-la-carte menu if the buffet options didn't peak your interest (or if you have allergies). Room was large, although bathroom a little dated. Pools were well maintained and sunbeds very comfortable

Indoor pool and spa area
Compared with other Kempinski hotels we found this hotel disappointing. The outside appearance is rather neglected and inside it could do with some refurbishment. Air con was very odd, not available when we arrived then controlled centrally so it’s hard to get comfortable. Overall ambience and service more akin to a lower quality hotel.

This is an excellent resort in a quiet location and yet only a few miles from the capital of the island. There is ample free parking and good access to al, the facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The Sauna and the rooms very nice
They had a very small menu which was inconsistent. The gym opens after 7 am which did not suit me. Bar closed down stairs . They refused to let us get a quick bit to eat at 7.15 am on day we left. Saying 7.30 only could not get coffee . 1 coffee pod for two people in room saying we have to pay for more pathetic

Minden szempontból rendben volt, kiváló reggeli, a személyzet nagyon kedves. Esténként a II-Baldakkin étteremben vacsoráztunk ( az étel és kiszolgálás kitűnő, a választék a fő menüben nagyon gyenge (5-6 féle van csak.) Kipróbáltuk volna a másik éttermet is, a L-Istorját, de sajnos számunkra későn nyitott este 7 órakor. Mi korábbi időpontban szoktunk vacsorázni.
Nagyon meglepett, hogy a megérkezéskor előre kifizettették a szállást ( 5 éjszaka) Mi bejártuk már a félvilágot a férjemmel, de még sehol nem kérték előre. Na mindegy... A másik ami meglepett, kértem a recepcióst, hogy vasaltatni szeretnék blúzt, inget, mert össze gyűrődtek. Megkérdezte a recepciós, hogy most, mondtam igen. Természetesen angolul leírva kértem, mi csak németül és magyarul beszélünk. Ugyan az is szerepel a szálloda felsorolt nyelvei közt, hogy németül is beszélnek, de sajnos senki nem tudott. Mire visszaértem a szobába kopogtak és behoztak egy vasalódeszkát meg vasalót. Hát néztem nagyokat, mert nem én akartam vasalni... hanem vasaltatni akartam. Nyelvi félreértés lehetett, vagy lehet nem szoktak ilyet kérni, pedig a szolgáltatások között ott van, hogy felár ellenében lehet kérni.

Breakfast was good with a good selection and sitting outdoors is an early morning treat. The three pools allow for a non-crowded atmosphere. The room was large and very comfortable bed. Still a good hotel.
Would have been nice to have been offered an option of tea to drink for breakfast. The new modern pool loungers were great although people would book them every morning with a towel and then not show up until midday to use them, which was very frustrating. Soem work was done on te room below us very earaly one morning, which was unaceptably loud.

I booked with you as breakfast included but the booking defaulted to no breakfast. This has happened with you before. The smell of urine as you enter the hotel comes from the toilet in reception. The reception manager was not interested as I booked with you. The smell of cooked meat starts from 6 am and permeates through reception and rooms throughout the day. Cockroaches roam through the place and insects were removed from beds. The South East Asian staff were excellent and freindly but none of the maltese staff were approachable. Only one pool towels was allowed and was exchanged with towel card. Food was bland and tasteless - even the burgers were of cheap quality and the ice chunk-containing ice cream bore no relationship to suggested flavour. Certainly poor value for money for a "4*" hotel.
Comfortable beds and good showers.
Otherwise nothing to be proud of.
