The facial tissues in the bathroom were like sand paper and the hand soap provided was like washing with wax. There was insufficient bathroom products provide for two guests. It would have been nice to have had a choice of teas as we don't drink coffee.

A high quality hotel, with lots of charm and a rich history Close to the center. Good breakfast.

The two single beds even though we are a couple and the reservation was specially made for a king size bed. Not possible to take a shower in the morning, cold water and green color. However, it is specified that the water is drinkable. The lack of responsiveness and communication with the staff.

Where to begin, once we stepped foot into the hotel we fell in love with the decor and architecture of the hotel and the local area. The staff were friendly, and attentive. All staff members spoke English so that was helpful. The hotel is in a good location to the town and other attractions, whether you would be travelling by car or walking it was pretty simple to navigate once you became familiar with your surroundings. Although, we enjoyed walking to see what Zagreb, Croatia was all about. Our room was a good size. It had such a brilliant view, and during our stay we had great weather which made it all the better too! The breakfast was great, lots of options from the buffet to the menu. As mentioned, the staff were incredibly accommodating on each request we had too, so thank you :). My friend and I drank at the hotel bar, and we were served with lovely cocktails. On our last evening we dined at the Zinfandel Restaurant (the restaurant in the hotel) and the food was phenomenal. The atmosphere and the service was just as impeccable as the food - we could not compliment it enough we had to pass our compliments to the chef. All in all, we would most certainly stay here again!

Cleaners could do a bit of a better job with dusting certain areas in the room and providing toiletries as we did not have anything for just one of the days we had stayed (it did not bother us as we did not mention it to the front desk, but we did notice it).

This hotel was absolutely beautiful! The staff was very friendly and so helpful! We had just landed from our flight and were feeling a bit jet lagged but from the moment we arrived, they all gave us such a warm welcome and took care of everything! They helped us make dinner reservations at the most delicious local restaurant, brought all of our bags to our room, and gave us suggestions for ways to walk around the city and maximize our visit. Our hotel room was immaculate, large, and incredibly comfortable - especially the bedding! The location of the hotel is perfect - it is located near the city parks and only a few minutes walk from the old town. We absolutely loved this city and very much enjoyed our stay - we can't wait to return!

Everything. the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. we contemplated spending an extra night and the manager was willing to give us the room at the same rate we got it for months ago even though the price was 50% up. the hotel is beautiful, nice location, breakfast on point.

our room was right by the elevator and we had a toddler. once we asked that the room he changed, the manager quickly helped by not changing our room but giving us a bigger room. so not so much of an issue.

Lovely old place but little tired, needs sprucing up There was a roof leak on the six floor The window frames in our room were in poor state wood rotting! The doors and skirting boards worn ( paint peeling) Break fast should be included in the price of the room!

It is a lovely old hotel with an old world charm. The staff in the Le Bistro Restaurant were quite nice and very helpful with explanations on the menu items. Good location.

A little pretentious for the leisure traveler. I was treated particularly poorly in the lounge. The hotel needs to up its game on treating all guests with respect and complete courtesy and stop with the overly arrogant 18th Century attitudes.

Location, people kindness, room and breakfast

This is a first class hotel. Room, service, breakfast all superb. Not the cheapest place to stay but worth the money.

The staff were exceptionally responsive and professional. The. bed, pillows, and bedding was fine quality and comfortable. I would definitely stay at the Esplanade again. Really enjoyed my stay.

The location was excellent.
