Location. Very close to downtown area about 15-20 minutes walk. Bus stop 12 is just right beside the hotel.
Internet speed is quite low. TV channels were so limited. Breakfast was good but selection were the same everyday of our stay

Heated bathroom floor was amazing. The tub was huge but no railing or handle so getting in and out was difficult. The breakfast in the hotel (priced separately) was fabulous!! The location was also perfect for everything I was planning to do. The front desk staff were all wonderful, very friendly and nice.
Bed could have been more comfy. The maids don't come in everyday unless you ask them to. Just not used to that.

We only stayed one night to facilitate what would have otherwise been a long and late layover at the airport with two small children. So 24 hours in Reykjavik it was. The hotel is nice, clean, and all staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a nice large family room. It is a ca. 15 minute walk to the old 'centre' of town. Was not a problem for us, with kids, but keep it in mind. The breakfast was very good, with a large and varied selection for all diets. You should really try a few different beers at the bar downstairs or its restaurant.
Look, it's Iceland and everything is shockingly expensive -- try not to think about it too much. We arrived somewhat late in the day, tired, and with small tired children, so got room service for supper. What we had was good (not amazing, just good), but a slightly bigger/better selection (not just burgers) would be appreciated, something healthy and/or kid-friendly.

We had a beautiful , large room with an ocean view. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. The buffet breakfasts and dinners were excellent. Large variety and excellent quality. Front desk staff were helpful. Bathroom was large and the separate shower made it very accessible.
The menus for the bar for those not choosing the dinner buffet were very limited with a heavy weighting towards fried food.

The breakfast is value for money considering Iceland is an expensive country. The bus stop is literally just a few steps away.

The view
Beds were basic and super hard no top sheet, TV channels, shelves for bathroom supplies, no one showed up to clean our room until after noon, never received extra blanket, parking was deceiving maybe provide valet service, room got super hot even without heat on.

Central Location. We walked to restaurants nearby. Near bus stop 12 where the airport bus stops and lots of day trips operators pick you up

Breakfast and lunch buffets were great (though a bit pricy), and the downstairs bar was nice as well with a great beer selection. Hotel was modern and staff was nice. The cleaners also did a great job straightening up each day.
The location is just ok. Close to bus stop which is convenient for tour pick-up / drop-offs, but further away from downtown Reykjavík than some other options. The rooms were nice though a bit on the small side - ok for a night or two, but a little tight for the five we stayed. The beds were also pretty firm as an fyi.

Very clean, very spacious room
Be aware the parking garage is not free. Nor is it attached to the hotel....there is mo 'main front door' to drive up to...or a parking lot...only street parking

The breakfast buffet was superb. A range of hot food, including deliciously light pancakes and the best bacon I've eaten. I loved the skyr, fruit and granola "bar". Two juice and coffee stations so even when it was very busy there was a maximum one person wait to get a drink. Staff cleaned away dirty plates quietly and efficiently - save your cutlery if you want to go for another round of food! The coffee was excellent. We filled out water bottles and thermos cups for the day before we left - which was considered completely acceptable. The bread, pastries and meats/cheese/salmon/sliced veggies selection were also very good. We were at Fosshotel for Christmas, Haust was decorated really tastefully for the festive season, with a mini "santa" playhouse for small children. Though most children there were incredibly well behaved and ate quietly. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We have teen and adult children who appreciated the free Wifi!
The rooms were very clean and comfy. Though a little too warm for our liking - we opened the windows at night to cool down. The cool -5 C air reduced the temp a bit but the rooms were still warm, we turned off the radiators. Bedding was clean and crisp. Nice, fluffy towels too! Lovely shampoo/bodywash and conditioner.
We had intended on staying 3 nights and then travel to Vik but due to the road being closed we couldn't go. The reception staff were amazing. Our children were able to stay in their room and my husband and I moved (we had to move from a large suite to a standard double) but they found one opposite our children's room. The standard double was smaller but just as lovely.
Underground parking (small fee) with lifts to all floors was ideal. No scraping snow off the car in the morning!
The scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked, slightly too bouncy. But that's a personal preference. Otherwise I can't fault the breakfast at Fosshotel. The second room - the I think it needed a bit of attention and in our rush to the airport I forgot to mention a couple of things. The TV settings were faulty- we couldn't get the subtitles to turn off (we managed to and then they'd turn back on without anyone touching anything!) and the hairdryer was broken. TBH we only watched the news in the morning and evening after a day out so it wasn't a big deal. I let my hair dry naturally in the warm room, which wasn't a big deal for me either. Room 811. I would absolutely recommend Fosshotel!

Was here for New Year's and the hotel was packed! The staff did an amazing job helping everyone from all over the world. Fabulous Breakfast and Dinner - Its an easy walk to the City Center and close to water so you can do the shore walk. Definitely recommend anyone wanting a fantastic hotel in Reykjavik.

the room was amazingly clean.
the furniture was cozy, practically located and with a pleasant design.
the reception staff were helpful and nice.
the cleaning people respected the "do not disturb" sign, even though it was displayed at the time when they usually cleaned up rooms.
the location is quite convenient - close to Laugavegur, to supermarkets or bus stops. but with almost no traffic going around the hotel. no noise, less pollution.
since the building is so tall, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the windows open. it was lovely to get inside the room proper clean icelandic air.
the dinner was overpriced - the menu was the same as for the lunch, but double priced. the food was tasty, well prepared, but not Michelin star exquisite, expectation created by the price.
pretty much all metallic building have some noisy stretches when sun heats them or when they get cooler. it was not something disturbing to not be able to sleep. but sometimes over the day, it was noticeable.

Loved the lobby and bar, the beer garden, and the buffet dinner in dining room.
The bed was a little too hard.
