The room was fine and the staff were nice

There should be a better process for distributing keys. We arrived in the middle of the night at 3am and it turned out someone else had taken our key and checked into our room. The room left for us was a single room even though we are a family of 4. It was just an accident but I feel like there could be a better way of making sure late check ins get their own keys. Luckily for us the staff were able to come down to the place at 3am and sort it out, but they had to wake the other guest up and move them to a new room. They then tidied the room and changed the sheets, but there was a bit of a smell as the guy had clearly been eating food in there, and the bathroom could have done with a bit of a clean.

This was the worst hotel. It calls itself a hotel but offers service like an Airbnb. There is a reason why people decide to book a hotel, like possibility of late check in and baggage drop off. As my arrival time was at 23:00, I received a message from management about the key to my room which was stored in a box and could be accessed with a pin. As a woman traveling alone, it felt quite unsafe as it took me a while to rotate the door at the required angle to make the mechanism work. After some struggle it worked. No one gave me any instructions of how to check out. The interior is a labyrinth of rooms and I could not manage to find anyone to help. I finally found one person and I asked her how checked out worked, obviously she could only speak German, and she responded in a very condescending way that there was a mailbox and this should have been obvious to me. I asked if I could leave my suitcase anywhere as I was catching a train in the next 4 hours and she pointed to a random room and said that as there is no reception, I would have to call before and when someone would be available, they would then open the door. The 'hotel' is along a busy street and whenever a bus or track would pass by, the whole building would shake. Value for money is very very poor. Not recommended!

Very nice and clean facilities in the centre of Duisburg. The staff was very helpful, our room spacious and nice.

The room was big and nice. The location was close the train station and very convenient. Couple of restaurants are also around. The direction given by the receptionist to get the keys was perfect and clear. Sad I was not able to meet them, but it will be the next time. The value for the money was great.

Probably a small improvement cleaning the beds. But not too much complains with it, since the problem was not in the bed I was using.
