Architecture and interior design are best of the best. Absolutely top notch. A sight to behold! it was like living in an AD magazine. Definitely the best part of the experience.

Service was good but not as exceptional as you would expect from a hotel as luxurious as this and expensive as this. Spa was okay. Not a true spa.

The room was thematic, very spacious, comfortable and beautiful. I loved the bike ride to the lake and the tour through the bodega.

beautiful setting the individual art rooms are fantastic and the food is truly amazing. there’s only one restaurant but it’s so good I don’t mind.

there’s not much to the Vik, so only good for an overnight stay

VIK exceeded all our expectations. The cabin was equipped with everything, beds were very comfy, the views were breathtaking and very warm during winter. The restaurant was spectacular and all meals were tremendous. The staff could not do any more to make our stay special. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful experience. We travelled with three small children and they made all efforts to make our experience enjoyable for all age groups. The horse ride was wonderful, the wine tasting and wine tour extraordinary and the veggie patch tour by the head chef was very special!

The architecture, the room and meals.

The lack of spa and the lack of indoor activities. We spent 2 nights with rainy weather and there are no alternatives to enjoy in such a case. Probably a bar or pub where the guests may socialize would help…

I got food poisoning and had to consult a doctor who put me on antibiotics. I have traveled a lot and never had food poisoning. I drank bottled water and only ate food in the hotel.

No public bar in hotel.Main public area looks like a furniture showroom with a billiard table would be better designed as an area to buy refreshment and socialise with other guests.No public coffee making facilities and non in room. Got up at 6am as usual but couldn’t get a coffee or cup of tea as no staff on site. No TV in room just to be aware - I know if you want to get away from it all it’s not necessary but £500 per night you need to be aware.Lunch in restaurant was nicely presented but lacked flavour BBQ meat there was no BBQ, no caramelisation on onion etc pretty but bland, and got presented with a preprinted bill which was incorrect , hence didn’t book dinner. Breakfast was better.We visited the VIK as it is a winery,we booked a table in the Pavilion so that we could taste the wines. We didn’t realise the Pavilion was only open Wednesday to Sunday but nobody emailed to respond to our booking.Touring Chile meant our itinerary was to be at the VIK on Tuesday.Tasting the wine at the VIK hotel therefore is problematic ! Cannot taste the wines - there are only 4! Cannot buy a wine tasting of the 4, cannot buy a flight of the 4.Cannot buy a glass of the VIK . Can buy a wine tour but doesn’t taste all 4 wines. Can buy a bottle of the VIK at £100. But not taste first ! We are English we plan our holiday around wineries we have done Europe ( France,Italy,Spain,Portugal,Germany,Austria,Greece,Malta ,Cyprus) and the US (California,Washington,Texas)and to the Southern Hemisphere but I can honestly say a place less keen to show off its wine I have not visited. Glad we stayed as the setting is wonderful but left feeling it was a bit of a strange experience.

The showers were badly designed and they did not cater to allergies. Meal portions were ridiculously small and restaurant staff badly trained.

The meals were a little uneven. Some spectacular food - and a couple of real misses. The staff were all friendly enough and helpful enough - but for the price there were some real misses. Wine is included with dinner but walk outside the restaurant to be immediately outside to continue enjoying the evening - and you’ll start paying for the same wine. It isn’t a ton of money considering the cost but being nickeled and dimed on an expensive place is dumb. Staff weren’t trained to be super attentive to needs of guests. The property was full of kids the first 1.5 days there - which seems strange for a property of this caliber. They took over the pool, which kids love - but seems a bit inappropriate. Water disappeared completely for about six hours our last day!
