Good for kids with playground and horses
Rooms got extremely cold at night with 1 small fan heater across 4 bedrooms, fireplace for the lounge was great but just heats the lounge. Although electric blankets it didn’t bod we for a good night sleep. Beds were tiny singles dotted around. Should be described as a rustic almost flaming experience!!

Sehr guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in den Zentralen Drakensbergen. Schönes großes Zimmer, komplett ausgestattet.
Das Zimmer riecht muffelig und feucht, in den Geschirrschränken starker Schimmelgeruch.
Frühstück im Restaurant gibt es erst ab 8 Uhr, zu spät für Wanderungen.

We had the best unit with the view of the mountain and the lake, with the waterfall next to us. This resort is excellent value for money, with magnificent views, clean, modern interior and attention to detail (the outside light by the braai wasn't working we didn't report it, but by end of the first day they replaced it). The cleaning staff are very professional and friendly, and the receptionist was very accommodating in my request. The property is very accessible for those with mobility issues and perfect for walks and hikes. Can highly recommend this resort and its restaurant, it is a definite favourite we will be sure to return to. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Chairs outside were a bit uncomfortable but that is really a minor thing, compared to all the other great things about our unit

Mega kamers. Buiten was het warm, maar de kamer bleef goed koel, airco was niet nodig.
Leuke bar, goed restaurant en vanaf het hotel kan je een aantal wandelingen maken. Op het terrein is ook een kleine supermarkt. Wij hebben de blue grotto wandeling gemaakt, op aanraden van het personeel. Deze start bij hotel drakensberg sun resort, 20 min rijden. Deze wandeling was fantastisch.
1 van de 2 zwembaden waren ze aan het renoveren, dat was ook hard nodig! Het andere zwembad is ook aan renovatie toe, het zag er niet uitnodigend uit om erin te springen. Ook veel bladeren etc.

Room was spacious and clean and bathroom was nice and big.
It was fine for now because weather was mild, but in warmer months, I think there should be an aircon or ceiling fan. Rooms are a bit stuffy. Verandahs are a bit awkward because there is no privacy from neighbours on their verandah. Maybe some sort of trellis or storm blind would offer a bit more privacy. Maybe a lighter or box of matches in the unit would be a good idea for when the power goes out unexpectedly - so at least the gas stove can be used.

Its a beautiful place for a quick overnighter. Food at the restaurant wasn't bad. Affordable for a last minute booking.
The unit we stayed in was newly built. The smell of cement still lingers in the room. The amenities are great, but in winter it is cold. There is a fan heater in the room but with loadshedding nothing else to keep warm.

The comfort of the room.
We has to ask for everything. Where is the dining room. Do we get tickets to eat. What time can we eat breakfast etc etc. Next morning the same. In dining we didnt know if it is from the menu or what. ? We have to ask again. Very nice place and staff just think they have to upgrade there staff training

I think that the kitchen was overwhelmed with the hotel being full over the long weekend so the wait for dinner orders was extremely long which also unfortunately impacted the quality of the meals.

The locatoon is perfect,so much to do at Dragons peak and surrounds.Accooidation was clean and comfortable..Restuarant on site serves lovely food at reasonable prices.Staff is friendly and accomodating..Large open spaces.The river is refreshing.Plenty bird life..
