just back 12sept22. had great holiday and would have given everything an excelent rating except for two minor things. we had apartment 1 on ground floor. unlike other trip advisor comments we actually decide it was better than upper floors as had big patio with table and chairs to sit and eat. the apartment is spacious but could do with a bit more furnature specifically an armchair to go with sofa. the other niggle is phone and wifi reception is very weak. but to finish we would be very happy to go again

Can’t beat the location we come back year after year, apartments are spacious and light with natural colours and quality mattresses, towels and linens. Views are wonderful, breakfast is good, owners are amazing can’t do enough. A couple of minutes walk and you’re on the main strip of seafront restaurants. Just a beautiful place to be, perfect for a relaxing trip.

The hotel has beautiful facilities - rooms, taverna private beach , etc... Well located - away from the rush, but close enough to venture out to a night out. Always clean and spacious rooms (cleaning every day) with very comfortable bed. Tasty breakfast(home made cake with peach -blubbery, carrot cake, many different muffins.... Traditional Kefalonia cheese pie,meet pie,and very important for us every day fresh organic orange juice :) Very kind staff to cater to your every need. Lovely Achilleas, Milica and Nontas. Taverna have lovely food, amazing wild pork(boar)Souvlaki and local Lamb Kleftiko. Oh...and the sea has some awesome treatments to pamper your body and bring you in nirvana :) It is an awesome holiday . Will return for sure.

There's lots here to like. Our apartment was on the ground floor but we still had lovely sea views. As other reviewers have mentioned, eating and drinking right on the beach is a definite bonus, and the taverna is rightly a selling point, including the breakfast. We enjoyed the buffet breakfasts, which included fruit, yoghurt, bread, bacon, eggs and cake, hot drinks and fruit juice. Some people may want a more continental selection or more choice - we did at first but soon came to appreciate what was on offer - delicious, and a perfect setting. There's a lovely family feel to Albouro because of the family who run it, yet there's also a quietness that we really enjoyed, away from the large beaches and the crowds. There are two beaches next to the Albouro private beach. One is 2-3 minutes walk, the other 5 minutes. These are the ones where it's easier to swim out - the sea directly outside Albouro (the private beach) is rockier and so we'd recommend water shoes here. The beach 5 minutes away is where you will find restaurants, shops, cafés and bars, though this is still a much quieter area than you might find in other parts of Kefalonia. Still, there was the perfect amount of "buzz" for us. This is also where you can hire boats or book tours. The beach here offers very shallow water unless you swim a little way out, so good for little ones or simply splashing / floating to cool off! You can use the umbrellas of the cafes and restaurants if you get a drink there. The beach in the other direction does not have the facilities or shelter, but we loved it for quiet swims when the sun was not too hot (or even night swimming!). The apartment itself was lovely - large, clean, simple. We enjoyed the terrace, the views, the convenience of the taverna and the beach. There's a kitchen with cooking facilities and fridge - good enough even if you are fully self catering and certainly good enough for keeping snacks and drinks throughout the...

Our son stayed on the sofa bed in the main part of the apartment. It would have been helpful to have air conditioning here as well as in the bedroom as we didn't want to leave all the doors and windows open while he slept. Should list a daily clean in the facilities. This was a lovely surprise but good to know in advance so no shocks! Same with the towels - would have been good to know we needn't have brought our own to save space in the backpack. Again, nice surprise! There's no reception area. You can just find staff somewhere - usually working at the taverna - but a sign would be helpful. The wet room bathroom didn't quite work - you can end up with soggy feet going to the toilet if someone has recently used the shower, for example. The taverna is missing a trick, we think. A wider range of drinks, including cocktails, would go down well.

It was our second visit chosen again for It’s location, apartment and people, soo chilled and relaxing.

Perfect location, fabulous breakfast served right next to the sea. Very hospitable hosts - lovely family run apartments. Value for money. Spotlessly clean and very spacious.

Internet connection comes and goes. Sometimes water pressure was not so good.

Beautiful location very close to the beac and awesome view right next to the beach from the breakfast area.

This is a wonderful family run place, the owners put a lot of attention to detail. The apartment is located next to the sea, they have a nice private section on the beach with sun beds. There are restaurants and small shops in short walking distance. For traveling to other beaches in the area we recommend a car. What we liked best was the friendly atmosphere, the wonderful freshly prepared breakfast, the spacious and nice room, the great view from the balcony, all the little details in the room to make it a special place.

Super hidden location with garden, breakfast pergola at private beach in Katelios. Few minutes walk from restaurants, shops and bars at the small harbour. The split level appointment with amazing sea views had a great terras, even comfortable for sleeping under the stars. The friendly Nontas and his wife were ever so friendly to accommodate us in the best way with superb breakfast, fresh yoghourt, freshly squeezed orange juice, home made jam and cakes (carrot, apple), melon, and small delicious omelettes. Thanks for letting us feeling a bit like at home. For sure we come back to Katelios. The sea in front of the property and private beach is also great for snorkeling.

Loved the stay. Apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. The owner’s wife makes delicious breakfast. Would highly recommend staying there!

It is a fantastic place with a sea view and a big terrace. At night there was the best stars view and the Moon road on the sea we ever met. Really big 2 rooms (and 2 floors) appartment. Ideal place with kids. Really friendly owner. The breakfast was really tasty. Especially homemade cakes made by the owner's wife.

Everything was cool. But the tavern was closed at that time. That's why you should be careful with restaurants in the village (just 300 meters right from apartments). Better to check some recommendations on google or TripAdvisor.

Corona has affected the village, and many facilities are closed, i.e. shops with essential items. There are almost no tourists, so this vibe is sadly missing.

Breakfast was fab, location perfect, quiet spot beautiful view yet 2 min walk to restaurants.

Very modern and clean. Big balconies. Breakfast was very good. The owners were very helpful and friendly. Right on the beach easy access to main part of village. Just what we needed. Free WiFi

If you want to self cater the cooking facilities are limited although Kitchen is fine and has all you’ll want. No TV for those that can’t get away from it!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Location is perfect with superb sea views from the top floor rooms. Others have criticised the fact that you cannot swim from the beach adjacent to the bar area. Two minutes walk along the beach and the sandy beach shelves gently into the sea... perfect! We ate at several restaurants in the village (a couple of minutes walk along the beach) but kept returning to Albouro's own beach front restaurant where you can eat freshly caught fish whilst the sea laps a few metres away. Thank you to Nontas, Yannis & their lovely family for making us so welcome. We'll be back for sure.

Lovely apartments in the perfect location right on the water front in Katélios. Nontas was great and very accommodating to your needs. The breakfast was also very nice and well worth having. I look forward to returning sometime in the future!
