We had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and defintily gives you the cabin/cottage feel. Great sand beach for the kids to play. Water is a little under waist deep at the end of the dock which is very nice for new swimmers. Lake is quiet and clean. Interior furnishings and decor was very well done. Comfortable beds and the perfect place for rest and relaxation!

All the bells and whistles, everything you need for a great family getaway. Small quiet lake with room to play or fish. Great communication with Runamuck, Primarily with Joan who was very patient with us.

We had a wonderful week with great fishing, beautiful clear water, and an abundance of nature. The log cabin lake home was so clean and spacious. After renting other properties for our yearly family gathering each summer for the last 25 years, this was by far the nicest home we have ever enjoyed! We will definitely be returning next year. Thank you, Joan, for all your hospitality!

Amazing and Peaceful
Property is gorgeous. The kitchen has a large center island for preparing food and hanging out. The house has woods on both sides and is on a dead end street. Very little boat traffic and the sandy shallow beach area was perfect for our 3 year old granddaughter.
We saw 7 loons and a variety of ducks. Loved the fact that it felt secluded yet was close to downtown Hayward, grocery store, and restaurants. We would definitely rebook and recommend this property.

The owner was great to work with and always responded quickly if we ever had any questions. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you would need. We had a fantastic week relaxing with our family. The cabin had a great up north feel and accommodated 10 adults with no problem. Loved everything about this cabin, we highly recommend it. Joan was quick to respond to the questions we had while we were there.

Everything about this property is just perfect. Our family has an annual lake vacation we look forward to and this is the ideal place. We love the cozy feel, being able to cook for a large group and plenty of room to relax and visit. We are already lookng forward to our next stay!

Quintessential cabin living!
Runamuk Roost is everything it is described as and more. Very well appointed and comfortable cabin for hosting a family group and Durphee Lake is quiet and very clean.

Runamuk Roost truly made our family vacation a fantastic experience. It’s spacious and has lovely décor in every room. No matter what the weather delivers, it’s got your back with a comfy living room, fabulous porch for a read, and a clean sandy beach for all the water fun you want. We had a blast! Scenic and peaceful
We had a wonderful time here, loved the up north cabin experience with all the amenities of home. Beautiful place to stay that nicely accommodated our family of nine and our Golden Retriever. Durphee Lake was clear, warm and great for swimming. We will definitely be back.

The property was just as it was listed we had a wonderful time Durfee Lake is a beautiful lake with the sand bottom that our kids totally enjoyed along with the big raft that was out in the lake. Our entire family had a great time there. The cabin is beautiful well-crafted and everything that they said it should be

Perfect Summer GetAway
In this COVID-19, we all NEEDED a change of scenery and it was just what the doctor ordered. Amazing sunrises, sunsets...and incredible sunny memories were made.

Absolute Gem in perfect location!
I have stayed at this property three times and each time look forward to coming back! It is located on a beautiful lake, in the woods near Hayward, Wisconsin. Quiet, private and immaculate! and a nice place to stay in the summer OR in winter. A great place to stay with a small group of friends. The "roost" is incredibly comfortable, furnished perfectly...the kitchen alone is amazing! Would recommend this property without hesitation. We will be back!

Great place for family gatherings
Property was very nice, house was well-furnished and clean. Kitchen was well-stacked with pretty much everything we needed. Check-in was super easy and Robyn was very helpful with everything. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.

Let it Snow!
We were happily snowed in at Runamuk Roost during the big Thanksgiving snowstorm. We had plenty of turkey, beautiful surroundings, a warm fire, good books, games and movies, cuddly dogs and some rented snow shoes. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Hayward was hopping during Black Friday and we loved the Moccasin Bar and The Ranch Supper Club. Not a bit of cabin fever. Hoping to see the grass green and the lake liquid on a return visit. We highly recommend Runamuk Roost!

Beautiful property!
We had 5 couples stay here for the weekend so the 5 bedrooms was perfect for us. The decor was awesome, antique radios in all the rooms. Loved reading the book about the history of the property.
This would be an awesome summer spot. Sandy beach, nice size lake, bon fire pit, which we were able to enjoy both nights.

Perfect family getaway
This cabin was as relaxing as can be. Beautifully decorated in vintage cabin decor. The gourmet kitchen was spacious, stocked perfectly and plenty of room to serve our family of 5 plus a toddler.
Each bedroom had comfortable and luxurious bedding. Lightning was plentiful. We loved the simplicity of the gas fireplace. TV and wifi worked perfectly.
The only thing that disappointed us was something no amount of money could buy, the weather failed us outside, but this cabin kept us all warm, cozy, comfortable and relaxed and refreshed.

Dream vacation spot
I had stayed here before for a weekend with friends and knew it would be the perfect spot for our family's annual summer vacation. Spotlessly clean; comfortable and cozy; a large kitchen with every bowl, pan and utensil you could possibly need; lots of privacy but not isolated; a crystal clear and quiet lake just steps from the back door, perfect for hours of swimming, canoeing, floating, and fishing; a yard large enough for lawn games, outdoor meals, reading in the Adirondack chairs, and gatherings at the fire pit; and a screened in porch perfect for morning coffee. I love this place and hope to stay again.

Wonderful place! Beautiful private lake. Perfect and peaceful! A pontoon we rented for tubing served us well for water activities but also for a place to read and enjoy a refreshing drink. While it was docked.
We enjoyed Stone Lake as much as Hayward. Neighborhood was nice for walking and biking.
The listing on VRBO, when it came to billing, was very confusing but the homeowners were able to be reached to work out details.
Overall, would recommend for any occasion!
