The space and facilities in the room were fantastic, the bed was very big and very clean and comfortable. The shower was better than some hotels I’ve stayed in which was great! The staff over at the pub couldn’t be more inviting and helpful, nothing was a bother. Breakfast food was outstanding, the service was quick and friendly. We stayed here for two nights and the location was perfect for travelling to an event at Warwick house.

Visiting friends nearby. Excellent location, friendly staff and environment. Dinner was good and breakfast was immense!

Only criticism was some people in car park were quite noisy after we'd retired for the night. Not the Merrie Lion's fault, but inconsiderate on their part. If there isn't any perhaps some signage in the car park would hel reminding people to be aware of the residents?

Delightful, friendly & well managed pub

Amazing hospitality from Daphne and her friendly team. I felt really welcome and looked after. Breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Rooms are comfortable with a good bed and excellent shower.

The evening I arrived I was given a form to complete to order breakfast the next morning, which I thought was a really good idea. I got exactly what I asked for. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a lovely evening meal which was a very reasonable price. I would thoroughly recommend The Merrie Lion.

Breakfast was excellent, a wide selection available, all served freshly made. Also the breakfast was included in the price. Location of the Merrie Lion was perfect for us, as we were meeting with family and they lived 300m away. Also the selection of beers in the pub was excellent. We have stayed once before, and will stay again.

The pub is in a pretty village. The pub itself is just so full of character & is extremely well kept & was a lovely place to be. The staff were all really friendly and made us feel very welcome. The hotel, which is in a barn type building across the car park was absolutely first class. Obviously all very newly done, well designed & the room was huge & very well equipped with everything you could need. Gorgeous bathroom too with lovely toiletries. We stayed at the hotel the rest of the afternoon after we arrived, having a few drinks, then had an evening meal which was really fresh, tasty & good value. In the morning, we had breakfast which again was excellent quality, tasty & service was great. We had only booked one night but definitely feel we want to come back again, especially as the dog friendly rooms came with a little private garden area for each room so would be ideal to bring our pooch. The whole experience was just very well thought out, organised & definitely made you feel so welcome & looked after. It all seemed to run seamlessly. Thank you!

Everything was exceptional. Cannot fault anything. Perfect location, our room was spotlessly clean. Pub & restaurant absolutely great & food was excellent. The staff went out of their way for us, with the landlady even doing breakfast for us earlier than they normally would as we had to leave early in the morning. Highly recommend a stay here. We will definitely be going back at some point.

Excellent location for Silverstone. Delicious dinner on Saturday evening and very tasty breakfasts with good orange juice and excellent coffee. Great selection of beers and lagers at the bar and Daphne and her staff made us very welcome indeed.

There wasn't anything we didn't like and the twin room we occupied was perfect for us. Hopefully we get to stay there again and we certainly recommend the Merrie Lion.

Our overnight stay was specifically for the purpose of easy travel to Silverstone circuit the next day. Location-wise, it was great. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable and it had a good shower in a very clean bathroom. The food was excellent and on evening that we stayed, it was BBQ night with live music - what's not to like about that! The staff were very nice, the service good and having asked for a takeaway breakfast the next morning, we weren't disappointed (even if it was given to me upside-down in a carton with open sauce pots that went everywhere!). It was good value for money and I'd stay here again but in a different room - one with windows.

There wasn't a lot to dislike about The Merrie Lion but on the warmest night of the year, the absence of a window and air conditioning in our room meant that it was too warm overnight and there was nothing we could do about it. It was a ground floor room (room 3) with a French door leading to a private, gravelled area but who wants to leave a ground floor door open at night. The gravelled area was overgrown and full of weeds and the table and chairs looked a bit sad and depressed, which for an accommodation so young (built Spring 2019), I was very surprised.
