Beautiful heritage property. Well located. Lovely gardens. Big and beautiful old trees. Very nice people. Always polite, smiling and obliging. Brilliantly photogenic property, especially in the early morning winter sun.

1. Housekeeping forgot to do our rooms despite us having asked the Reception to have them done, when we left in the morning. 2. The normal single and double rooms are perched on top on the second floor reachable only by stairs. We were three of us including my Senior Dad and it can be hard for Seniors to climb up to the 2nd floor.

We had a one night stop over on our trip to Nuwara Eliya and this was perfect for what we needed. The restaurant had plenty to choose from and it was good value for money. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The location is breathtaking, the staff is excellent, very accommodating, and friendly. Exceptional breakfast. Highly recommended to anyone who wishes to have a peaceful holiday in the cool climates of Nuwaraeliya.

Very nice and cozy design. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Very high level of service and customer care. Green and private territory with nice things to see. Very close to the lake and the national park.

The breakfast buffet was not bad and lots of choices. Some staff members really made an effort and were pleasant to speak to.

This hotel is grossly overpriced. Unfortunately, it does not live up to any of the expectations that is displayed online and it is not in a presentable shape. At least if you get a room in the back of the hotel which is a complete different building and not as shiny as the nice-looking house in the front. Firstly, the bed sheets were dirty (black and orange stains!!) and the room had a pungent, musky smell. It was disgusting. We hoped the sheets would get changed but there was no housekeeping. Secondly, the front desk staff were not very helpful at all. When we asked for a tuk tuk, they did call us one but neither did they tell us when or if someone would arrive nor did they tell the driver where we want to go, even though we explained it to them thoroughly. Thirdly, we asked for a packed breakfast as we were going for a hike. Never in my life did I have such an empty and joyless sandwich. They also didn’t open the gate at 5 am for our guide. Overall, for the price that this hotel charges, you would expect none of the above and exceptional service. We found better hotels in Sri Lanka for a tenth of the price. Don’t waste your money at this place!

The Environment and the staff

In the images for the rooms, they show cottages, but the cottages were not operational and we were given rooms to stay in. Toilets were stinking and had to be cleaned. Images are misleading, it was pretty average though it looks great in images. Nuara eliya is known for the views and the view from the room is totally worthless.
