The cottage is very convenient to Sandy Hook beaches and Long Branch. It was walkable to really good restaurants/bars. Neighborhood was quiet but you need to be prepared for the bridge noise (not completely unexpected due to the proximity). The cottage could use a little TLC (fresh paint inside, new shower curtain and a couple of window blinds replaced) but all-in-all a great little place.

As others have said, the cottage is very clean and very comfortable. The location is stellar too! Larry and Gary were extremely responsive. We all had a lovely time and cant wait to return!

We had a wonderful time. Place was spotless. Dog friendly. Area is wonderful and easy to access other beaches. Check in and check out was seamless. Communication was spot on! Would highly recommend !!

The place was exactly as described. Well appointed - everything you need is there. Nice Kitchen, comfy bed, and good sofa bed. Communication with the host was very responsive. There were no checkout details, so I hope we did it right! I would definitely come back to this spot.

As others have said, this is in an amazing spot right on the water at the base of the bridge to Sandy Hook and Sea Bright. My husband and our 8-year-old son were very comfortable there, though space can get tight for more than two people. Super convenient parking and easy access for fishing and boating. Easy walk to restaurants and cafes. We went to Sandy Hook daily and were delighted that a park pass was included which makes a big difference with the $20 park entry fee. You can also walk to Sandy Hook if you’re not schlepping too much gear. Be aware that with a small dog beach/park and other cottages nearby, there are other folks around, nothing intrusive but it’s not entirely private. Overall a grear stay and we hope to come back soon!

My spouse and I stayed at this lovely cottage for 8 days. Gary was most helpful when we had a few questions. The cottage was delightful, very close to many good restaurants which we walked to as well as the wonderful Sandy Hook, National recreation area. Would definitely come again.

Our stay at Larry’s property was great- it had everything we needed and he went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. He even mailed our daughters stuffed animal back! Although we stayed in February, I would love to come back in the summer because the view is amazing. Highly recommend staying here!

The cottage is situated on the water with great views, wildlife, and walk-able to restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book this again.

Great location and views of the water. Cozy, comfortable, and quiet with enough space for two. Cottage had everything needed for the beach - towels, chairs, beach pass - and is a quick drive or bike ride to Sandy Hook and Sea Bright. Several restaurants with walking distance and Sea Bright. My only suggestions are to replace some of the blinds and do a baseboard cleaning. We would stay here again.

If you are looking for a waterfront property with a view and walking distance access to terrific restaurants, this is it. Both Larry and his brother-in-law Gary were terrific to work with; and they were exceptionally responsive to any question or concern we had.

The house is perfect for 2. The outdoor space was great, sitting on Adirondack chairs with a great view of the water and passing boats.

The Highlands has always been a very special place for us and this cottage provided the most charming experience! So convenient to Sandy Hook and walkable to many places to eat. We will definitely be back!

This lovely waterside property is near great Highlands restaurants and you can walk over the bridge to Sandy Hook beach as well. It's a fantastic location if you don't want to drive a car but a beach pass is provided if you do drive. We had a short but very nice stay!

What a wonderful location - all windows have a view onto the water.. We were looking for a quick weekend trip with our dog and daughter. This placed popped up as being available - and what a neat surprise! Right on the river, with sprawling water views, a quaint little sitting area to watch boats go by .. Cottage had all amenities needed, including beach chairs (umbrella needed next time!) the owner was in close communication and a text away if we needed anything Close to restaurants, close to beach, owners give you the pass to the Sandy Hook park/beach which is amazing in itself - and a quick drive to other beaches over in Sea Bright and the north shore of Jersey

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was easy to find. Host communication was wonderful. The only reason I would rate 4 instead of 5 stars is the AC got quite noisy one night (may need to be serviced) and the property could use some minor upgrades like better easier to use window treatments and a fan in the restroom. Overall very charming and would recommend!

This is a very curte little cottage right on the water. Feels like you are sleeping in a large boat in a marina. Close to downtown Highlands and very quick drive across bridge to Sandy Hook. Just what we needed.

What an oasis of peace and beauty. The space was perfect for 2 people. Everything is there for you to relax and enjoy - beach chairs and towels, day pass to nearby historic sights, grill, fully stocked kitchen for cooking. There is a small patio that overlooks the river. You are a minute walk to nearby restaurants and within a few minutes drive to the beach. The owners are responsive and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better spot.

Excellent property and facility; needs a Chester draw to put clothes in out of suitcase instead of living out of the suitcase. This is the only issue I have. Every request we made was met in a timely response and the place was very nice; and location was super. Best indoresement I can give is: Would rent again.

What a gem of a rental... the location and privacy is heavenly. Spent 3 nights l. Ate out for meals to walk able restaurants. Full size stove as pictured as well as dishwasher if you wanted to cook in. This tiny cottage has a full size tub and the shower has great water pressure. Gary was on site and responsive when TV remote needed new batteries.Only distraction was that the entire unit needs a good deep and professional cleaning.

One can see the River from everyplace in the cottage. Really a delightful experience if you're comfortable in a compact space. The cottage is conveniently located and within walking distance of everything in downtown Highlands NJ. The manager is very responsive to requests.

I wanted to Surprise my boyfriend with a romantic weekend get away and what a treat this cottage was! I’ve been to long branch many times and never took the time to really get to know the area. This town is so cute and homey. Everything is within close proximity and the best part: the view from the cottage. It was so private and intimidate, we will definitely be coming back!

We enjoyed our stay here. Accessible to lots of things in the area and a unique place to stay. Really easy to access and the management was very respondent to any needs.

The house was absolutely adorable. Perfect for a couple getaway. On the water. Beautiful view from the yard. Had everything you would need if you happened to forget anything. I.E. , Linens, sheets, towels, Toilet paper. Gary was super friendly. Was available if needed. Would most definitely come again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

We had a great time staying at this cabin. It's very small, but perfect for just 2 people and a dog and the location is impossible to beat. I mean, you're literally across from Bahr's and on the water, not even 5 minutes from Sandy Hook Nat'l Park. The front lawn is nice and in great condition. Relaxing to sit out with a drink and watch the fisherman on the bay. The parking lot is a bit tight, but the people who live there seem used to it. I'd suggest not going with a big SUV if you're renting a car.

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying on this property. It was comfortable from the moment we walked in the door. Everything was immaculately clean. We were able to drive our boat up to the dock which is a real plus. Looking forward to returning!
