Carol's house is nicely appointed, beautifully located, and comfortable. It was a pleasure to sit on the sofa with a drink, as a cool breeze wafted through the house. Nearby, there were many fine places to eat. We ate at James Beach, two blocks away. There, my wife's celebrity radar picked up Jimmy Smits eating two tables away. Made her trip.

Our family of 4 had a great time staying at this cottage. It's very comfortable and clean, bright and sunny during the day, and quiet at night. The beach is just a couple blocks away, and there are lots of good places to eat within walking distance. Our daughters also had a really fun time paddling the boat through the canals! Carol, the owner, is super friendly and very responsive. We hope to come back!

This is the perfect cottage to rent if you want to be right on the canal and take in all the scenery. The owner, Carol, is very attentive and always available if you needed anything. Would highly recommend!

Carol's place is really great and I'd gladly recommend it. We stayed over Christmas, which can be chilly at night, and the house is very warm and comfortable and is well equipped. It is nicely decorated, has a great view over the canals and is well located close to the beach and Abbot Kinney. All in all, we'd stay here again.

Carol was wonderful to communicate with and was always available. She was pleasant and kind- would definitely stay there again. Her home was beautiful, clean and bright and right on the canal. Thank you Carol!

There is no doubt that the cottage's location is sublime. However, it's in need of some tlc. The security door isn't sturdy and as a result is difficult to open and close. The cleanliness of the property was ok, but required us to call the house keeper as she failed to clean the most basic of things, including but not limited to the fans, base boards, the outside of the fridge, coffee table, sofa, and the outside deck. Nevertheless, she showed up promptly when requested. That said the floors are still in need of a good scrubbing so barefoot be ware. Of note the ac unit didn't work when we were there but the owner offered to fix it, albeit during our stay stating she knew of the issue. Despite any misgivings the space is rather large and open. Access to the canals is direct, though the water rises higher, or so it would seem, on the weekends, so take note if you plan to use the included boats. All in all it's a quaint cottage that just needs some work to better reflect the nightly asking price.

My wife and I stayed four nights at this tropical oasis! Truly idyllic. ...yet only 1 1/2 blocks to Venice Beach! Walked to the beach each day...beach chairs in the home made laying out in the sun very comfortable! We've stayed at hotels on the beach ....at more than twice the price of this home...and this home on the Venice Canals is a far better option.

Had a beautiful extended weekend at this location. Ages ranged from 13 to 65 and everyone enjoyed it. It was lovely having the paddle boats to see the homes and architect of the Venice Canals. A friendly neighbor even allowed us to try his boat. Walking distance to the active Venice Beach Speedway or a lovely short walk through the Venice canals for dining choices. We liked not having to race out in the morning to look for breakfast, instead we had coffee and pastries on the patio and enjoyed the morning sun. This home is roomy and worked for the 6 of us, even with one bedroom and one bath, there is a couple of extra mirrors hung which was helpful for everyone to get ready. It was easy to settle in like it was our own home. There is a small convenience store a block away. Also Marina Del Rey was a very short drive, where we enjoyed brunch aboard a yacht (horn blower) and Santa Monica was another great destination we enjoyed. Overall everything from the home, location and owner was a 10. A+ shout out to Carol for her Awesome hospitality and helping us to get settled. It was a pleasure meeting you.

Comfortably sleeps 6 people! It was so much fun taking the boat out on the Venice Canal. And the bikes that were provided with the stay made it great for getting to the beach and around town. Definitely can't wait to book another stay there!

What an absolutely gorgeous spot! Vacationed with a group of 6 people and everyone fit quite nicely! With only a block away from the beach and restaurants within walking distance, who needs a car? Biked all the way to the Santa Monica pier and back within less than 30 mins. Took the boats out for a spin and the nicest point of, all not having to wear dirty clothes on vacation! Comes with a full washer and dryer! 🙌🏻 Great for those beach days! Absolutely fabulous place and definitely would want to stay here again in the future!

Beautiful clean and convenient canal home. Feeling of a lake or beach house yet luxury of being on a canal, and so close to the beach! So many cool, fun things to do that are within walking and biking distance. The property and pics as described are accurate and Carol had laid out information and instructions as well as recommendations for the home and area.

Staying in LA in mid summer with temperatures hovering around 108 degrees, it was just brilliant to be able to return to Carol's immaculate Venice little house to relax and recover. The cottage is every bit as lovely as the pictures suggest, and Carol has used excellent taste and real class in choosing the way it is decorated and fitted out. Sitting on the deck watching Venice life go by is a past-time I can deal with any time! For a short LA stay I can think of nowhere better and I am sure we will be back if it is available next time we are in town. Thank you Carol.
