All I can say is WOW! The beach house was amazing and SPI Rentals were so easy to work with. Our family was blown away by the space and all of the amenities it had to offer. The house is very nicely laid out and the rooms were spacious. Even with our large group of 30, we were very comfortable. The kitchen is nicely stocked with everything we needed to cook and the house was very clean. My wife is typically very picky and she had no complaints! And everyone loved the pool, mini golf and the basketball court. We have rented larger homes before for our reunions, but this one topped them all. Definitely one of our best family get togethers and we are already talking about coming back for the next one. Highly recommend this house and SPI Rentals.

The day we were to check-in, SPI rental called me and said there was a plumbing issue and we couldn't stay at the property. There were already 27 of us on our way to the property at that time - some of us had flown in from out of state. For the next 2 hours, while driving to South Padre, we scrambled to try and find a place to stay. SPI rental helped by finding us 3 separate houses to stay in, but only for 3 of the 6 nights we were supposed to be there. Finally, before arriving in South Padre, we got a call that the property was fixed. Upon arrival, it was not ready until 5p. It smelled like sewage. The backyard was filthy. There was food and drinks and trash left on the upstairs balcony, I assume from the previous guests. The showers had moldy shower curtains and hair all over the walls. Because our party was so big (29), we weren't able to find a different place, so we had no choice but to stay there. We made the most of it but it was awful. The communication was awful, the house was dirty, and the photos were deceiving. It's really too bad.

The house is perfect for large groups or families. Large amount of kitchen supplies for cooking. Plenty for all ages to do and walking distance to the beach. It was very windy while we were there so lots of garbage around. Enough basic need supplies to get there and not have to worry about running to the store which is nice. Overall a great place and would recommend.

This property was perfect for my large group. The pool and hot tub worked out great for us. We couldn’t get the kids to go to the beach they loved the house so much. Very clean and very easy to communicate with the property owners if we needed anything. We will be going back next year!!

The house was as described in the listing and the amenities when working are great. We had a problem with the pool not working (pool was largely why we booked the property). The management company were not very responsive, there was poor communication and it took 4 days to get it fixed. We turned the heating on one day as it was cold and a burning plastic smell set off the fire alarms. Two of the beds had poor quality frames and were propped up with pieces of 2x4 to support them which weren’t effective (how difficult to buy a sturdy but low cost frame?). There was google mesh Wi-Fi in all rooms but we weren’t given the password to that (reserved for owners?) and just had a password to the main Wi-Fi router which didn’t stretch throughout the house (we reverted to hotspots). Likewise the rokus in the individual rooms didn’t connect to the router because the router was using an old encryption form of WEP that is not supported by Roku anymore. There were many good things about the house, but these issues with some of the basics were sufficient that we wouldn’t book it again. Note that after the issue with the pool and the management company and pain going back and forth, we didn’t report all these issues to the management company and just put up with them - so to be fair, they never had the chance to attempt to resolve them - we just didn’t want to spend our vacation going back and forth with thr management company on everything.

Great house with plenty to do for larger groups. As of Dec. 2021 this home could be booked on both VRBO and Airbnb. It's was cheaper for me on VRBO but if I book the home again I'll do it on Airbnb. The management company/owners'/VRBO booking process is pretty bad, you are required to install an app on your phone called “DACK” and then required go through a huge rental agreement and initial/sign in more than 20 separate places! Between the property rental agreement and the terms of service and privacy policy for the app itself I was agreeing to 50-60 pages of legalese! I already have Airbnb and VRBO installed on my phone, this properties app (DACK) provides no value.

Very enjoyable home which was ideal for our 12 adults and 14 grandkids. The cousins loved the pool and basketball court area and played several outside games such as Tag your it, throw burrito and nerf gun battles. The adults used the large kitchen table to play games and sit around and just talk, catching up on each other's life's. Great location for enjoying the beaches and going to the turtle, dolphin, bird and alligator observatories. Great home for family get together and reunions.

We loved everything about this stay

I've been this vacation house several times already, I always invite different group of people, somehow I love how this house can present, with 24 hours view, walking distance to beach, close to yummy restaurants, especially every corner has its own special feature, it also has 9 bedrooms, big enough for a large group and all kind of events/parties!!! Highly recommend!!! Make your weekend worthy of stories, all you need is a quality stay and surrounding with family/friends!!

Great house, we called it a compound. Everything is there, no need to even leave the house. Great space for me and my friends to enjoy my 50th!!

We had a moms and sons graduation trip to SPI, and this property was absolutely amazing! Plenty of beds and bedrooms, a large stocked kitchen, fun pool table, PERFECT back yard with basketball court that was used almost 24/7, pool and spa, and turf where our boys worked out each morning. It was a very short 2 minute walk to the beach. We were able to wash beach towels while we were there with the washer and dryer in the house. Perfect vacation rental!!!

We took our son and his teammates (age 9) for a weekend getaway for his birthday. They had such a blast, there’s so much for them to do from pool, mini golf, basketball, soccer, 12 TVs for video gaming. Just an overall amazing weekend

The house was amazing! Great for a large group! I was worried by the pictures that the living space was not big enough for group gatherings, but it worked just fine! And someone in a previous review complained about food storage, but we did not find that to be a problem at all! There is an extra fridge and storage in the hallway. It is a 2-minute walk to the beach, and within a 10-minute walk from a grocery store and amusement center. All in all, everything on the island is within a 10-minute drive - we could not have been happier! I recommend reserving dining for a nice dinner out at the Sea Ranch. They accommodated our large party and the table was ready when we arrived. Book this house, you will not regret it!!!

Perfect property for a lot of people. Lots of outdoor space. We had a couple issues with pool but they were resolved quickly. Would recommend to others.

We traveled to SPI with 4 generations, 9 total people ranging from 1 year old to 80 years old. This property was perfect for us. The home is so spacious, everyone had plenty of room to have alone time, and the living room and dining room areas gave us plenty of space to be together. The property was completely gated which gave us peace of mind with small children and an elder with dementia. My elderly parent did not have any mobility issues here. The only downfall for her was that none of the bathrooms had ADA accommodations. So, showers and getting up from the toilet were a challenge for her. Some grab bars in one bathroom would solve this problem. The team at SPI rentals were incredibly responsive to our concerns (basically, how to operate the hot tub/pool and needing propane for the grill). We are considering returning to this property because, based on our needs and wants, it was practically perfect!

We really enjoyed this property. The pool table, basketball goal, pool, and hot tub got used regularly. Our only real complaint was the amount of animal hair on the floors. We did a lot of cooking for our group of 18. The kitchen worked quite well and the Blue Marlin grocery store is close by for groceries. A few items not stocked in the kitchen were hand mixer, griddle, and gallon pitcher. We also used the gas grill several times. It's secured to the fence in a place with poor lighting for after dark grilling, so bring a flashlight or eat before dark! Only a short walk to the beach or souvenir shop. We had a fantastic time! Thanks for providing a great place!

Great location, lots of room to spread out, plenty of bathrooms, nooks for privacy and space for getting together, easy beach access, great pool and hot tub, lots of outside play space, privacy sunning area. Only drawback - kitchen! It is inadequate if you plan to cook for more than 5-6 people. Oven cooks unevenly and temperature fluctuates. We left temperature on refrigerator as set when we arrived and food froze in the refrigerator. Thank goodness for second refrigerator. Still week was very enjoyable and memorable.

The kitchen was fully stocked. We had great response from the maid service and the maintenance crew. Thank you for being quick to address our needs. I would recommend this place.

We traveled with a few families from our baseball team. Every kid reported it was the best trip ever! We never had to leave the property except to go to the beach! There is so much to do right in the back yard. Kitchen was well equipped. Rooms were clean and comfy! Plenty of space. Great parking and great space to leave sandy beach gear and keep it out of the way. We will definitely be back!

We all were comfortable and pleased with the house and the location of the prop. You need to put directions on every TV in each room.

This house is not only huge, there is so much to do! From 9 awesome big bedrooms, to a huge pool! We played basketball and miniature golf. Very private property! Short walk to the beach. Beautiful kitchen. Highly recommend this property!

This home was perfect in every way and it accommodated us all very well. Definitely had a wonderful time and would recommend this home to anyone with a large group. There was plenty of space and entertainment and the staff were friendly and professional and really helped us enjoy our stay

We loved this house! The best: location! basketball court, huge pool, slide, hot tub, lots of seating for the 12 of us outside and inside! Management company is easy to work with! Attentive and extremely helpful! Fence helps you feel private and oh so special! Tips: bring beach towels (not fun at pool with generic white bath towels) arrange private basketball lessons with local coach! Walk everywhere! Relax! Get “real” groceries in port Isabel (we had vegetarians and gluten free requirements we could not accommodate from island stores) enjoy the roof top deck for sunrise! Keep second frig for drinks! Needs improvement: no bureaus to put away clothes ....no empty cupboards to put away groceries, no check out instructions LOVE this house! ❤️

This property is great! It is very close to the beach and has many amenities. The management company is not the best but the house is worth the hassle of dealing with them.

We had such an amazing time in the 1915 Gulf house! So many wonderful things to say about this property! The house itself has been beautifully renovated on the inside and out, and provides plenty of space for everyone. The house was very clean and fresh, furniture new and fits the house very well all around. We were very impressed. We had a group of 30+ people (6 different families) and never felt too crowded because there are soooo many amenities for everyone to spread out and enjoy. And the amenities are amazing!!! We all had so much fun. Everyone enjoyed the deep pool with waterslide and hot tub. We spent hours outside playing mini-golf, soccer, basketball and the kids loved the swing set too. We also spent a good amount of time on the 3rd-floor observation deck which was so awesome! You get beautiful ocean views and can actually see the bay as well. This was one of my favorite spots in the house! At night I snuck away and enjoyed 360 views of the island and all the lights from the main boulevard. Hands down the best property we have ever rented! We will not go anywhere else from now on. This is going to be our go-to for family vacations from here on out! We highly recommend it and have already shared pictures with friends of ours who are booking their own vacations there!
