Belvidere Manor is nestled in a superb location alongside the Knysna Lagoon. The setting is beautiful, festooned with flowers and walking paths. The comfortable cottages are large enough for a small family, simply furnished but with all required amenities. The on-site Bell Pub is a gem but watch out - the portions are huge! Easy access by car off the N2 as well as to all the sights of Knysna.

Our late afternoon arrival was unfortunately not well handled by the person on duty, who gave us no information about dealing with load shedding so we had to wend our way to our totally dark cottage using our phone lights, only to find that the promised cottage flashlight had not been recharged. Fortunately our waiter at the Bell Pub was a star and got us sorted out. There was also some confusion about our arrival and departure dates but that got sorted out by the manager the next day. The breakfast was traditional (some might say stodgy) - and we would have preferred a buffet with more heart-healthy options - but what a beautiful outdoor setting!

Very quiet place. The Pool was quite large. Good for a morning swimming. Exzellent brakefest. Dinner in the Bell was very convinient.

The hotel and room was much larger than expected. It was a full cottage with multiple rooms, a living room and kitchen. The location was beautiful and convenient. Easy to access the cottage by car. The hotel grounds were well kept and gives a very peaceful vibe.

The hotel room/cottage was quite old fashioned. A slight musky smell in the cottage and quite a number of spiders inside made me feel like the specific cottage had not been rented out in a while. The hotel was clearly targetting an elderly audience which made my wife and I feel somewhat out of place. This was therefore more our mistake.
