I have been coming to Fredericksburg for 30+ years, but always stay with my parents. Staying in this quaint little cottage made me feel like I was vacationing in a new town. We loved it and will definitely be back!

We love Primrose. Have stayed here before and would stay again. Everything you need and so close to everything.

The Primrose was very comfortable. My husband and I stayed here with our dog and we all enjoyed the large back yard. The location is wonderful to be close walking distance to shops and restaurants yet be just out of the hubub of Main Street!

The house is super cute and enjoyed first night. The second night the AC quit working so slept in about 80 degrees. Pretty miserable. Got no sleep… if that hadn't happened would have been a great trip! So far have not gotten an offer for any kind of compensation back for that. Which I feel like we should.

The house was nice Big backyard and close enough to walk to Main Street.

Small but cute and comfy house 2 blocks from shopping and restaurants. Wish the backyard had grass or fake grass so you can hang outside. Nothing but dirt and mud. House only had one tiny, tiny bathroom but works for one couple, anything more than that would be huge challenge. Kitchen had everything you needed if you planned to cook. We ate out every meal

This home is so charming! It was perfect for a weekend getaway. Beds were very comfortable and house had everything we needed. The huge backyard was great for our little dog and everything was in walking distance. The only thing would be to have instructions on how to use the Apple TV remote. Looking forward to returning!

Had not had a vacation since before Covid so the right home was important….we wanted a home we wanted to stay in and enjoy without feeling we had to go out. The back yard was fabulous and fit the need!!

The house was great. It was nicely furnished and in a great location, close to Main and very quiet. It was perfect for two people but would be cramped for more than two IMO. It is very compact and tight quarters. The only negative I have is that the TV has an Apple remote and unless you're familiar with it, can take a while to figure out. There is a book with instructions on the house, but the instruction page for the TV is mission. I stopped in Saturday morning to Gastehaus to inquire about the remote and they kindly offered to come out and show me how to use it. We weren't there much during business hours, so I never took them up on that. Yard was great for the dog.

This house was so great! It was clean, cute, and the beds were sooo comfortable. We were so happy with the accommodations. It’s only 2 blocks off the shopping area and 1 block from the grocery store. We had such a relaxing time.

Absolutely wonderful in every way. It was spotlessly clean, had everything you need supplied in full, perfect location.

Assuming the rating is 5 for excellent, I have to give this a 1. Upon arrival, I saw the the toilet had not been cleaned. I called Nathan and he sent someone over to clean it. There were hairs in the frig, which I cleaned. The rug in the living room had obviously not been vacuumed. Trim and molding on the doors (inside) have not been dusted in years. Windows very dirty. This is the third Gastehaus Schmidt property I have stayed in this year and they were all dirty. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Beautiful home perfectly located in Fredericksburg. It's walking distance to Main Street and we loved the large, enclosed yard so our dog could run around while we relaxed with a glass of wine on the patio.

Beds were comfy and location was great. We had everything we needed and the house was clean and comfortably and cozy. Would stay again.

Great location and the furnishings throughout the house are attractive and functional. The neighborhood is quiet and it is nice to have 'off street' parking. The bathroom is quite small and dated. I did have few concerns: the kitchen sink was real sour smelling and the vents and air return for the HVAC need a good cleaning. Plus the toilet would run sporadically. When I mentioned these concerns upon checkout, the staff member at GS was very appreciative.

In our 20 or so years of traveling to Frederickberg and staying at various B &B's (usually booked throuugh your service), this stay at the Primrose was the worst. I will not go into detail as it's not worth my time. We did communicate our dissatisfaction with Nathan, a fine young gentleman. Your service was great as usual.

It is a lovely home. However, since we paid a cleaning fee we expected it to be clean. There was white dog hair on the queen size bed, and substantially more than a bit. There was also dog hair on the sofa. There was dust on the ceiling and other areas. I understand this home allows people to bring their pets, but I would've thought it would be cleaned so that the next guests wouldn't be covered in it. The TV did not work. It gave a message that the provider needed to be contacted. We could only use the TV with the DVD player. I have used Gaesthaus Schmidt for many years. This is the first time I have had an issue. I reported it to a young lady when I returned the keys. She seemed nonchalant. The only thing is she said is that she'd report it to housekeeping. An "I'm sorry" would've been appreciated.

Loved the home. For the most part it appeared clean but the Sheets were extremely wrinkled on the king bed...almost like they were not laundered. I would have liked to have seen the baseboards in the bathroom wiped down as they had noticeable dust. I do not want to sound overly picky but I felt uneasy about the sheets when I pulled back the comforter. I would not have a problem staying in the home again though in the future.

Loved this little house, so cute and comfortable. Spent the weekend here with my husband, another friend and our golden retriever. Everyone enjoyed the house including the dog. Nice spacious backyard for the dog to run and chase squirrels. The nights were very comfortable with the temps dipping down into the 40s the central heat kept us nice and warm. We will rent this one again.

Love the peaceful surroundings and location along with the wonderful furnishings. This was our third stay at Primrose with many more to come.

Primrose house has a great location. Bedrooms are nice and very comfortable. The kitchen drawers could be simplified and needs to be organized and checked for needs such as a new can opener. IT was cold and rainy and we wanted to watch a Christmas DVD and there was no remote that worked the current TV. The lady on call was very nice and came over to try to help, but the Element TV did not have an Element remote... or something like that.

Primrose is a darling cottage and I thoroughly enjoyed staying there!

Primrose is a precious house perfectly located for our weekend stay. House was comfortable and had everything we needed. We only used the master bedroom with king size bed and thought it was a touch on the soft side, but nothing wrong, we just prefer a firmer mattress. We brought our dog and dog owners should note that even though the backyard is fenced in, the part of the fence by the driveway parking leaves a bit of space between the fence and the ground where a dog could try to escape. We had brought a gate with us so we just placed it in that area to keep our dog inside and monitored him whenever he went out. We had an issue with a chirping smoke detector and Gastehaus came out quickly to change out all the batteries. Also note that although the house is located on a side street, it is a pretty busy side street, so there was some traffic noise, but nothing that kept us awake. Overall had a pleasant stay!

Primrose is beautifully decorated. However, the functionality of the house did not meet our needs. We have stayed at numerous houses in Fredericksburg that better met our needs. Primrose would be better suited for a young couple staying for just a couple nights and was going to eat out every meal. The Apple TV had no instructions, we had to watch YouTube videos on our phones to figure out how to work some of the features. The available channels are very limited. Netflix is not even loaded on the TV.

Primrose was a perfect base camp for all of our Mothers day weekend shenanigans! The beds were super soft. The whole place was very clean. We would stay again for sure!! Primrose and Gastehaus Schmidt are first rate !!

The cottage is charming, well located, and the backyard is peaceful. It was great not to have extra fees or a list of things to do to check out!

The house was great. There is a plumbing problem. We washed dishes and the the sink would not drain very fast. Believe it under the foundation. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The Primrose house was an excellent accommodation. After initially finding out that airbnb failed to secure my rental, the staff at Gästehaus Schmidt scrambled and set us up at the Primrose. It was not as close to Main as the original choice, but close enough a short drive couldnt fix. The Primrose house was cute, quaint and stylish. My guests and I enjoyed our stay very much, and would definitely use your company again.
