Wonderful location in the heart of the old town. Simple but attractive furnishing and very clean, with lovely views from the balcony. It was surprisingly quiet overnight, despite music in the evenings from a nearby restaurant. There was a fridge in the room and there are lots of lovely touches like complimentary coffee/water/sweets. The hostess and staff were very friendly. Breakfast is not provided but there is a hotel just a few doors down that offers a buffet breakfast on the panoramic terrace for €12, or there are two patisseries nearby (both closed on Mondays).

Location is perfect, easy to leave the car outside the city walls and located in the center ,bars and restaurants all nearby, is a lovely village

Size of the room was a bit small for us,fortunately we got the key to an extra living room with terrace so we could put bike there and enjoy the terrace when needed

The major plus for this hotel was the location. It is right on the main street going through the town - full of bars and restaurants. A short walk takes you to the panoramic views of the lake and the rest of the town below. The room itself is simple - comfy bed, air-con, free wi-fi, good sized en-suite shower room, fridge. The bed was comfortable and there were extra pillows available. The windows had fly screens on so we could leave them open all night without being bitten by the bugs and still hear the sounds of the lake and wake up to the sound of the birds. The hotel has a small terrace with amazing views of the lake and we sat there each morning eating our fresh croissants and drinking our morning coffee.

There were a couple of minus points for us. The main one was that the electrical sockets in the room were all old style so our adapters didn't fit. The only one we could use was the fridge socket so we had to choose between having the fridge on or charging our phones. T There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. There was a shared kettle etc in the corridor outside, so I am not sure why they were not in the rooms but this was a bit of a pain. There were also no real mugs, just paper cups, which again, was a pain. Apart from these 2 very minor points though, we were very happy with the room and the hotel.

Donatella is an outstanding host. Located conveniently in the historic part of Castiglione del Lago, you are in the best part of town while staying with her. Only about 20 minutes to the west of Perugia, you will stay in welcoming comfort!

Great location, great view of lake from my room. I loved the terrace. D Donatella was such a kind host and treated you like a friend.

I can't think of anything. All you need is right there. Central location, vista's, super clean and quiet.

nothing - out of interest some people may be put off by the poor breakfast score shown on Booking.Com, please don’t be. The reason for the score is clearly that they don’t provide breakfast! there are numerous options for breakfast within 100 yards.

The room was very large, clean and beautiful. In a beatiful spot. The welcome was warm and she even made us a baby bed even though we did not ask and it was excellent.

The apartment has no parking. We parked the car not close to the apartment. Something we did not expect, especially with a baby. Plus there is no elevator

The room was nice, modern and felt really clean. There was also a tiny fridge in the room which we found useful. The bathroom was also good and there was a whole body mirror. Like some others had also written before, it would have been useful to have a few more spots to hang your towels in the bathroom. The location was superb and the views from the common area and balcony were fantastic. The building is right in the center of the old town of Castiglione del Lago. The atmosphere in the whole building was great. And the breakfast was amazing! Would definitely recommend staying at Antica casa di famiglia and if we are ever planning on coming to the Castiglione del Lago again, we'll come here.

The staff member with whom we were in contact did not speak English. We found that a bit challenging. Altough she was really helpful and nice to us when we tried to speak Italian. After all, there was no problem with the staff even though communication was a bit challenging.
