Lovely hotel, with very large, comfortable rooms. Inside and outside onsens are gorgeous, they even have massage chairs Modern and clean luxury hotel feel. Let down with only a couple of fixable issues
They can’t accommodate their guests for dinner! Large hotel that can feed everyone for breakfast but good luck eating at night! When we arrived we tried to book in for dinner and they were already booked out for our entire 5 night stay!!! Turns out we were lucky, they were charging 15000 yen per person(in town, delicious meals for 1000 -1500yen per person (ten times cheaper)
It was a pain on a snowy night to walk at least 10 minutes to get a meal. A hotel this size should have an option to eat in the hotel, especially when it’s on the far edge of town. Also, be sure to book a restaurant in town early, there were trails of people walking around getting turned away from every restaurant. There aren’t many and they are small and booked out. The town shuts down after 7pm. Hotel should offer a simple buffet dinner to feed everyone.
Terrible directions to the shuttle bus. The website shows a small white bus, we stood in the right spot but missed the bus because it was not as pictured and no one speaks English to ask.

Spacious, courteous staff and free shuttle bus from Yamagata Station to the hotel. The hotel dinner was exceptional, and breakfast included a great variety of food. The outside onsen was cosy, and they provided a common pantry for use; there were drinks, ice cream, and manga to enjoy. They even had a call service to call you to catch the shuttle bus. The place is also within walking distance to the ropeway. Overall, stay was beyond satisfaction.

The outdoor Onsen was awesome and it’s beautiful. The dinner was really great and the staff were friendly. The view of the room is epic.

The beautiful view from your bedroom high ceiling windows, along corridors, lobby abs breakfast venue is fabulous. Outdoor sulfer onsen is really good, but you have to walk pass thru snow, (hotel provide you a snow coat, boots and umbrella for you to use). Dining and breakfast are variety.
Non-detach Onsen that you have to walk outside thru parking lot. Inside building also an option, but not good as the one outside.

I arrived the hotel late and checked out early so that my opinion may not reflect for every customers.
While limited stay, I enjoyed the followings;
Service by front desk,
2 rotenburo (at arrival, I was exhausted so I was hesitant to experience onsen. But, my daughter insisted over
the messaging from USA. So, I forced myself to experience rotenburo at the time of arrival and
the next morning for the 2nd rotenburo. I enjoyed the both and was able to relax myself. I was
very glad that I took my suggestion.)
Service at dinner.
I wish I was able to stay for several days at least. The next occasion, I'll do so. My appreciations to service of your employee (not only front desk and food service, but the others as well) and the hotel.
Too short stay to evaluate.

Amazingly beautiful and posh hotel. The entire place is absolutely immaculate and beautiful. The room was beautiful, the scene from the room was amazing, even with the leaves of the ginko tree right outside mostly shed (I could just imagine how amazing the view would have been had I been there a week earlier). The room had a large deep tub (which I couldn't take advantage of too much because there were also two onsens to choose from!) and a massage chair! There were also a carafe of cold water and a hot thermos with water already boiled inside (as opposed to adding the water and boiling it when you want to make a drink)! That's service! This place is high end luxury! Oh, the onsens were beautiful too. There is one that's outside, in a beautiful Japanese garden. It's exactly like one of those beautiful traditional onsens you see in the tourism brochures.
Nothing. Everything was great. The town is small, I think it's a ski resort in the winter and might be bustling then, but when I went it was quiet. Just don't expect some wild party scene.

Facilities were excellent. The bathroom has amazing features. The Shower was excellent. Loved the room.
Nothing to complain about.

The room was spacious and we had a beautiful view over the snow covered forest.
The onsen at this hotel as well at their sister hotels were beautiful and offered outside bath.
The buffet breakfast was delicious and had a satisfying variety of food.
We rented snowboard wear and gear and it was great.
They also offer shuttle bus which is convenient.
Hotel is a 5 min walk from the main lift.
The only slight issue was the room temperature, we couldn't figure out how to turn it down.

Beautiful onsen facilities, soft sheets, friendly staff.

All staff members were friendly and tried to make my stay comfortable. Hotel is located 5 minutes walk to the ropeway station. The onsens were clean and comfortable. I really liked the outdoor onsen located outside of main hotel facility across the parking area.
None noted.

Facilities all are ok.
Shout out to the very kind hearted Shuttle Van driver that gave us a lift from the property to the main road as he saw us dragging our heavy luggages under the heavy snow. (We gave him a bottle of wine as a return, the driver deserves to be rewarded).
Receptionist with eyeglasses with a bad attitude.
The one at the reception on 12.23 Wed, around 10:30am.
The Lady Receptionist is NOT friendly at all ! She is NOT helpful at all !
She don’t care about the customer!
If you ask something she always declining!
Seems she has a lot hatred in her heart!
She is Ms. NO!
THE HOTEL IS NICE BUT THE GOOD IMAGE IS RUINING BY A RECEPTIONIST WITH BAD ATTITUDE!
Note: We behave maturely at all times from the check-in to check-out.
MUST READ: AWEFUL EXPERIENCE FROM THE HOTEL RECEPTIONIST.
They have a shuttle van giving a ride to all of their customer from the property to Yamagata City, we asked the lady receptionist if the shuttle van can drop us to the main road, maybe around 500meters from the property since we decided to stay in Zao for another day but checking in to another Hotel.
The lady receptionist mentioned that it is not possible since it will be bothersome to other customers. (We are a customer too and paid all the bills).
Since they don’t want us to give a ride, we decided to walk dragging our heavy luggages and snowboards. It is snowing hard that day and the road has a high pile of snow with some muddy part.
